Position: Formulation Scientist

Overview
The Formulation Scientist will support the Skin Health R&D team, contributing to both innovation and base business (commercialized products) within the skincare portfolio. This role will focus on formulation development, lab execution, and scale-up activities for consumer skincare products, including anti-aging formulations.
The ideal candidate will work under the guidance of senior scientists while also taking ownership of experiments, technical problem-solving, and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end product development for skincare formulations, including innovation and commercialization of existing products

Responsible and accountable for delivery and implementation of the Cushman & Wakefield (CW) US Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Strategy for the Americas. The role will also support on Security and Quality matters in support of the wider global EHS Team. This is a senior corporate role which will directly report to the Head of EHS Americas and indirectly report to business unit heads within the relevant jurisdictions and service lines. The role will require an experienced professional who has held a similar role in a related industry and who is comfortable and confident in working and presenting at a senior level. The individual will be commercially aware and fully accountable for delivering the Americas EHS Strategy as this relates to applicable countries and service lines while reporting successes to their stakeholder groups across the region.

Our client is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer
This team member will spearhead operational and process excellence throughout the production environment. Their role includes business case development and execution of capital procurement and installation. They will develop and implement standard operating procedures and processes, andtheir hands-on role will keep safety, quality, and productivity at the forefront. One of their core responsibilities will be to implement new equipment and production lines for all locations, paving the way for growth and innovation.
Essential duties and Responsibilities:
- Delivers increased process efficiencies and business capabilities and lowers production costs through capital equipment purchases and process improvements.
- Implements new equipment work instructions, standard work, preventive maintenance, and production team member training.
- Develops and manages purchased equipment manufacturing standards and performance expectations.
- Collaborates with maintenance in developing and validating effective preventive maintenance procedures for equipment.
- Design and develop optimal work-cell and facility layouts with cross-functional support.
- Ensures capital purchases are aligned with capacity projections and company vision through collaboration with plant management and planning teams.
- Develop scope of work and equipment specification for the RFQ process.
- Investigate vendor sources to support the expansion of manufacturing processes and the commercialization of new products.
- Works directly with product development to determine appropriate processes to commercialize new products from concept to full-scale production.
- Design components and equipment in Solidworks to support production.
- Gathers and analyzes data to drive improved equipment and overall process uptime.
- Promotes continuous improvement and lean culture throughout the facility with Team Members.
- Immediately report any food safety or quality issues to management or other individuals authorized to initiate action.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/Manufacturing Systems)
- 5-10 years experience in roles optimizing process and equipment performance and team member training required.

Company Background:
CNSide Diagnostics, LLC, a subsidiary of Plus Therapeutics, Inc., develops and commercializes proprietary clinical diagnostic laboratory tests, such as CNSide, designed to identify tumor cells that have metastasized to the central nervous system in patients with carcinomas and melanomas. The CNSide Cerebrospinal Fluid Assay Platform enables quantitative analysis and molecular characterization of tumor cells and circulating tumor DNA in cerebrospinal fluid, informing and improving the clinical management of patients. The Company is in the early stages of commercializing CNSide in the U.S.
Role:
This position collaborates with the Laboratory and Medical Directors to ensure high-quality laboratory testing in compliance with established policies, procedures, and CAP/COLA/CLIA standards. It also works closely with the Director of Operations to support and advance strategic business initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Microscopy & Image Analysis
- Oversee and perform tumor cell enumeration and analysis using multi-channel fluorescence imaging.
- Interpret fluorescent images across multiple channels, distinguishing true cellular signals from background, debris, or nonspecific staining.
- Apply standardized rules and reporting criteria for rare-event detection and maintain consistency across operators.
Quality & Documentation
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation of test results, workflows, and quality control activities.
- Escalate unusual or borderline findings and collaborate with scientific teams on interpretation.
- Participate in inter-operator reproducibility assessments and QC investigations related to imaging performance.
- Ensure adherence to CLIA/CAP regulations and internal quality standards.
Workflow & Team Management
- Review images in accordance with batching schedules and laboratory throughput goals.
- Support testing operations by providing timely, accurate, and high-quality results.
- Train, mentor, and supervise laboratory personnel in imaging techniques, analysis workflows, and best practices.
- Manage operational priorities, workflow optimization, and process improvement initiatives for the imaging team.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Cytotechnology, or a related life science discipline required; PhD with industry experience preferred
- 7+ years of relevant experience in cytology, histopathology, immunocytochemistry, diagnostic imaging, or related laboratory disciplines
- Demonstrated experience with fluorescent microscopy, multi-channel image analysis, and DNA FISH analysis
- Proficiency with professional image analysis platforms (e.g., Bioview, Zeiss, Olympus, Celigo, or equivalent)
- Experience working in regulated, clinical, or high-complexity laboratory environments (CLIA/CAP preferred)
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new imaging platforms, microscopy systems, and analytical workflows
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, and lead teams effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment
Requirements:
- Understanding of clinical laboratory operations, high-complexity testing, and quality systems
- Working knowledge of good laboratory practices (GLP), documentation standards, and safety guidelines
- Demonstrated expertise in high complexity multicolor image analysis and an ability to troubleshoot technical and operational issues and implement workflow improvements
- Ability to learn and apply new imaging platforms, microscopy systems, and analytical workflows
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, and lead teams effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach, perform manual manipulation, and lift up to 10 pounds
- Ability to work in a laboratory and office environment and maintain a clean, orderly work area
