Reporting to the Executive Director of Adult & Family Literacy, the Program Manager of Reading for Adults is a reading science specialist, educator, and curriculum developer who advances Literacy Partners’ two-generation mission through high-quality instruction and a strong volunteer-supported model. This role provides high level Adult Education instruction and trains volunteers to provide tutoring. Additionally, the Program Manager of Reading for Adults analyzes program data to improve literacy outcomes, curriculum, optimize volunteer impact, and drive continuous program enhancement.
Key responsibilities
Lead Reading for Adults (RFA) Instruction
- Serve as the lead instructor for emergent adult readers, delivering explicit, systematic reading science instruction that drives measurable growth in decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Classes are conducted virtually.
- Design a virtual classroom culture that honors dignity, builds academic confidence, and positions adult learners as capable scholars and caregivers.
- Own learner progress—using assessment, progress monitoring, and data to refine instruction and move students toward GED, workforce, civics and postsecondary pathways.
Co-Build the Instructional Engine
- Member of the RFA curriculum design team, developing a clear scope and sequence aligned to reading science and adult learning theory.
- Create structured lesson frameworks and skill routines that make high-quality literacy instruction replicable.
- Continuously evaluate and strengthen instructional systems to ensure coherence, rigor, and measurable learner outcomes.
Architect the Volunteer-Powered Model for Intensive Literacy Classes
- Design and manage a volunteer infrastructure that supports both decoding/fluency instruction and structured English speaking/comprehension practice.
- Train and coach volunteers to deliver consistent, aligned practice that reinforces classroom goals—especially for adults at very low reading levels.
- Build accountability systems (placement, feedback, engagement tracking) that elevate volunteer impact and instructional quality.
Drive Program Excellence & Integration
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date data on the volunteer-led classroom component (volunteer assignments, attendance, hours, and session outcomes), ensuring timely tracking, reporting, and continuous program improvement.
- Ensure operational excellence so instruction remains the center of gravity—enrollment coordination, scheduling, materials, and classroom readiness.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align student support services, data reporting, and two-generational outcomes.
- Represent the program internally and externally, elevating adult learners and advancing Literacy Partners’ instructional leadership in the field.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support Literacy Partners’ fundraising and program events throughout the year as needed.

Qualifications
- Minimum two-year experience teaching ESOL or ABE to adult students (preferably parents of young children and lower-level learners).
- Master’s Degree in a related field (e.g., Education, TESOL, Early Childhood, Public Health, Social Work). TESOL certification preferred.
- Familiarity with assessment tools and test batteries designed for adult learners.
- Proficiency in Zoom and online instruction, and presentations
- Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and proven relationship management skills.
- Excellent computer skills, including spreadsheets, word processing, and database management.
- Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative work environment and promoting teamwork.

Additional Workplace Expectations:

Compensation and Benefits:
- The annual starting salary range for this position is $67,000 - $70,000.

The RoleThe Clinical Director (Director of Clinical Programs and Faculty Development) provides psychoanalytic and academic leadership for all educational and clinical training activities of the Institute. Working collaboratively with the faculty, associate faculty, Board, program and committee chairs, the Clinical Director ensures effective coordination, leadership succession, and the ongoing engagement and fulfillment of all participants. Working in close partnership with the Operational Director and reporting to the Board of Directors, the Clinical Director ensures that IPI’s programs uphold the highest standards of psychoanalytic education, clinical integrity, and community culture.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide overarching leadership for all academic programs, certificate tracks, weekend conferences, and continuing education accreditation (APA/CE/CME).
· The Clinical Director, in coordination with the faculty, associate faculty, Treasurer, and Operational Director, oversees the identification, invitation, and engagement of conference speakers, including the negotiation of honoraria. Foster mentorship, evaluation, and succession planning for IPI faculty; cultivate the Associate Faculty pathway and support the growth of future program leaders.
· Lead the development of new courses and learning formats that reflect IPI’s psychoanalytic values and adapt to global educational trends.

Qualifications
· Completion of advanced psychoanalytic psychotherapy training or psychoanalytic training (IPA, APsA, or equivalent).
· Minimum of five (5) years of senior leadership experience in psychoanalytic or psychotherapeutic education, training, or organizational governance.
· Proven record of teaching, supervision, and faculty development.
· Demonstrated ability to provide executive-level collaboration on budgeting, financial and operational matters in nonprofit or academic settings, working in full partnership with the Operational Director to ensure coherence between educational, fiscal, and organizational goals.
· Demonstrates active engagement in APsA meetings and leadership or committee roles within APsA and other professional psychoanalytic organizations (e.g., IPA, PsAIN, or comparable bodies), fostering collaboration and advancing IPI’s visibility and partnerships with like-minded psychoanalytic institutions.
· In-depth learning or leadership experience in distance and hybrid education. Ability to engage collaboratively with administrative, faculty, and Board stakeholders.
· Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
· Strong command of the English language, including oral, written, and comprehension skills.
· Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and community engagement in psychoanalytic education.
· Must have an active license to practice in their mental health discipline.

The mission of the Corvallis Police Department is to enhance community livability by working in partnership with the community to promote public safety and crime prevention through education and enforcement; to maintain public order while preserving the legal rights of all individuals; to provide effective, efficient and courteous service; and to reduce the impact of crime.
About the Position
Community Service Officers provide support and assist sworn and non-sworn staff in a variety of non-emergency situations that do not require police officer authority. Responsible for providing a range of duties to enhance the community livability of the City of Corvallis including animal control, minor investigations, and providing community education. Perform other related duties that are not traditionally the work of sworn officers.
All Community Service Officers perform the following essential duties in support of sworn and non-sworn employees. Time devoted to each of these functions may vary according to assignment, shift, or departmental needs. Special assignments are defined by the Chief of Police and consist of work of a specialized nature performed on a full-time basis for an extended period of time. These assignments are responsible for performing the essential duties of Community Service Officer, but with special emphasis on certain functions during their special assignment, and they may also require additional skills or training. Essential Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Use community policing techniques such as community education, problem-solving, presence in assigned areas using a motor vehicle, bicycle, or while on foot.
- Provide community service in the areas of community conflict resolution and referral to other departments or agencies and in support of sworn employees.
- Respond to community member requests for information within area of assignment. Provide crime prevention evaluation and education to the community.
- Coordinate, plan and participate in special events.Represent the Police Department at community information sharing meetings and events. Perform public relations duties to inform and educate the community. Give presentations for large and small groups and special populations.
- Respond to and investigate reports of no-suspect, minor, non-emergency calls for service that do not require police officer authority.
- Assist sworn employees with investigations by processing crime scenes, including gathering and processing evidence and canvassing neighborhoods.
- Document actions in reports as required. Coordinate prosecution with attorneys. Present coherent and persuasive testimony on behalf of the City at trial.
- Assist in administrative duties, such as completing forms, gathering and transporting materials, data entry or other similar support activities.
- Assist sworn staff with traffic control, exchange of information, completion of forms and processing scenes at traffic crashes.
- Respond to traffic hazards and disabled vehicles to alleviate the situation or request sworn officers as necessary.
- Respond with physical force for self-defense or defense of other persons as allowed by law.
- Apprehend, remove, and transport stray, injured, and nuisance domestic and wild animals. Provide basic animal first aid as required. Perform euthanasia of animals as necessary, consistent with law, policy, and good animal husbandry.
- Conduct dangerous animal, cruelty to animal and animal bite investigations. May seize and impound animals. Provide recommendation to the court if animals should be designated as dangerous.
- Patrol community for violations of animal control laws and potential problems. Issue citations for animal code offenses.
- May be assigned to train CSO recruits, including instruction and application of laws, department rules and policies, proper use and maintenance of equipment, and proper safety techniques.Evaluate and report progress of CSO recruits.
- Operate and drive a motor vehicle safely and legally.

Meticulous attention to detail. Basic computer skills to operate security systems and prepare reports. 4. Clearance: Must have a current active secret clearance; ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance preferred.

Position description
This postdoctoral opportunity brings together faculty from UC Berkeley's School of Education (BSE); the College of Computing, Data Science, and Society (CDSS); and the Social Science D-Lab to support one (1) postdoctoral scholar as they study the teaching and learning of Data Science. Scholars will apprentice with multiple projects to develop and contribute expertise and scholarship in ethical data science teaching and learning across precollege, 2-year college, and 4-year university contexts. A major goal is to prepare scholars who are conversant across sectors, in order to help create coherent and supportive data science learning trajectories for all students.
We seek applicants with complementary relevant skill-sets and training in data science and education. This includes applicants with different educational backgrounds (e.g. research, regional, or liberal arts colleges; technical and community colleges), methodologies (e.g. qualitative and quantitative approaches to social sciences research), and experiences related to teaching or educational research (e.g. tutoring, teaching, curriculum development). We hope scholars will all share commitments to contributing high-quality, ethical Data Science Education teaching, curriculum, and scholarship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this positon.
The program will prepare postdoctoral scholars for a variety of careers such as entering Discipline-Based Education Research or the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning of Data Science as research or teaching faculty at a range of colleges and universities; working for non-academic organizations that design, develop, and study curricula, resources, and teacher learning for Data Science Education; or working with school districts or university systems to support student readiness, success, interest/confidence and career awareness in data science.
Duties of Position:
Year 1: Researchers will work with specialists among the faculty in Computer Science, Data-Intensive Social Science, Education, and Statistics in research rotations across departments; attend monthly workshops designed to develop the knowledge base required to conduct consequential research in this field; and become integral members of a growing community of practice at UC Berkeley and across the SF Bay Area.
Year 2: Researchers will engage with a year-long apprenticeship with a faculty mentor and will develop an independent project within the context of one of the many educational initiatives led by project personnel. Fellows will have the opportunity to teach workshops in Python/Jupyter, social science methodology, data literacy pedagogies, or data science curriculum development, and they may also teach undergraduate courses in Data Science/Statistics or STEM teacher preparation, no more than one course per year in the lecturer title. They will present their independent work at campus colloquia and will engage the broader Data Science Education field through scholarly conferences, technical workshops, and UC Berkeley's annual Data Science Education convening.
