THE OPPORTUNITY
As the Sr. Manager, Outbound Logistics you will be an integral leader in the strategy development and execution of final mile distribution processes. This position is responsible for executional processes within the distribution centers’ warehouse, final mile delivery performance, and total cost management. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capability, operational excellence, and the ability to collaborate and manage partners through evolving business needs while empowering and developing their team.
LOCATION
This position will be based in our Newport Beach, CA office 4 days per week (with work from home on Friday). Remote work is not available for this role.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Serve as the escalation point for Regional Logistics Leaders and facilitate the resolution of complex issues and network‑wide adjustments to standard work, including development and execution of business continuity plans.
• Partner with corporate and field restaurant operations to ensure Logistics Leaders gather the voice of the customer and drive continuous improvement in ordering, receiving, and delivery performance.
• Standardize and refine network processes, identifying risks, assigning stakeholders, and ensuring accountability through communication and training partnering with cross-functional partners and the Communications team.
• Monitor controllable and non‑controllable cost drivers and partner with Regional Logistics Leaders to standardize efficiencies and reduce cost variability.
• Lead the Outbound Logistics function, driving technology needs, process improvements, margin enhancement, and business‑case development.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally on LTOs, new menu items, equipment tests, and operational initiatives, resolving logistics issues and guiding communication with distributors.
• Partner with the Inbound Logistics Manager to assess quarterly DC capacity needs and maintain a long‑term DC roadmap.
• Work closely with FSQA to distribute food safety policies and updates, verifying compliance across distribution partners.
• Lead annual budgeting and negotiation strategy with the Sr. Director, Logistics for the distribution network and develop a high‑performing Outbound Logistics team through coaching and clear direction.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university preferred; and/or equivalent experience considered.
- MBA or Six Sigma Belt certification preferred.
- 5-8 years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations and 3PL or Warehouse Experience required.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience.
- WMS, Oracle, Continuous Improvement, Contract Negotiation, Pricing Models, food safety compliance and foodservice/temp control experience preferred.
- Leverage and standardize WMS across operators, building relationships and enforcing requirements.

PAY TRANSPARENCY
A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $150,000.00–$222,000.00. Role and Responsibilities1. Compensation Strategy & Program Management
- Support the development and refinement of compensation strategies in alignment with company goals and market practices.
- Manage the implementation and administration of base pay, short-term incentive plans, and other variable compensation programs.
- Partner with the SVP, HR and CHRO to assess the effectiveness of compensation programs and make recommendations for improvements.
2. Market Analysis & Benchmarking
- Lead benchmarking efforts using industry surveys and data to evaluate the competitiveness of the organization's pay structures.
- Perform compensation modeling and analytics to support decision-making and compensation design.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on market trends and internal data analysis.
3. Job Evaluation & Pay Structure
- Oversee job analysis and job evaluations to ensure appropriate leveling and internal equity.
- Maintain and update salary structures, job families, and career frameworks across departments.
- Evaluate and approve job offers and promotions to ensure alignment with compensation guidelines.
4. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compensation practices comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulatory requirements (e.g., FLSA, Equal Pay Act).
- Assist in preparing data and documentation for pay equity audits, internal reviews, and external reporting.
5. Performance & Incentive Planning
- Collaborate with HR business partners and leadership in the planning and execution of annual compensation cycles (Merit, Bonus, Promotions, SERP, and ESOP).
- Provide analytics and recommendations on performance-based pay decisions.
- Assist with the design and administration of variable pay programs that support a performance-driven culture.
6. Stakeholder Partnership & Communication
- Serve as a trusted advisor to HR business partners and business leaders on compensation matters.
- Support employee communications and training on compensation philosophy and programs.
- Work closely with Finance and HRIS teams to ensure accurate reporting, budgeting, and system integration.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (Master's or relevant certifications preferred).
- 6+ years of experience in compensation, with at least 2 years in a managerial or senior-level role.
- Strong understanding of compensation design, market pricing, salary surveys, and program implementation.
- Experience managing or supporting complex compensation cycles and job architecture frameworks.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail. Proficient in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data modeling) and compensation tools/systems (e.g., PayScale. Mercer, ADP, Cornerstone, Workday, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or similar industry-recognized certifications preferred.

You’ll partner closely with cross-functional leaders to identify the right suppliers, negotiate strong commercial agreements, and create repeatable sourcing processes that improve speed-to-market, cost, and supply continuity.
Summary:
The Sourcing Manager is an individual contributor responsible for leading end-to-end sourcing for Private Label and New Product Development. This role builds repeatable RFx and supplier selection processes, develops supplier partnerships, and translates cross-functional requirements into commercially sound recommendations and agreements. Success requires balancing cost, quality, risk, and speed to enable efficient, compliant product launches and a stronger supplier ecosystem.
Organizational Impact:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Sourcing, this role will expand sourcing capability by creating scalable tools, templates, and governance that improve speed-to-market, supplier performance, and total cost outcomes. Your work will directly impact new product launch readiness, supply continuity, gross margin, and risk mitigation through strong supplier selection, commercial negotiations, and disciplined performance management.
What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months):
- Establish and socialize a clear sourcing intake and RFx process (templates, timeline, roles/RACI, evaluation criteria)
- Deliver on-time supplier selection and contracting for priority NPD/Private Label launches
- Build a qualified supplier pipeline (including international options where appropriate) across priority categories
- Implement basic supplier performance management (KPIs, scorecards, QBR cadence) for awarded suppliers
- Identify and deliver measurable value (TCO improvements, cost avoidance, risk reduction, lead-time and service improvements)
Key Deliverables:
- Standard RFx toolkit (RFI/RFP/RFQ templates, evaluation scorecards, award memo format)
- Supplier due diligence and onboarding checklist (quality, regulatory, capacity, financial, ESG as applicable)
- Negotiation playbook and contracting checklist (commercial terms, SLAs, lead times, payment terms)
- Supplier performance dashboard and QBR agenda
- Category/supplier landscape view for priority areas (options, risks, and recommendations)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute sourcing strategy for Private Label & New Product Development through day-to-day ownership of initiatives, insights, and recommendations
- Build and improve repeatable sourcing processes and governance across Marketing, Product, Quality/Regulatory, Operations, Finance, and Legal
- Lead complex sourcing initiatives end-to-end, managing stakeholders, timelines, and deliverables
- Develop category strategies (make/buy, supplier segmentation, dual sourcing, risk mitigation) informed by market intelligence and business needs
- Own end-to-end RFx events (RFI/RFP/RFQ): strategy, supplier engagement, evaluation, award, and transition to performance management
- Create standardized templates and scorecards that balance total value (price, lead time, quality, service, innovation, sustainability)
- Lead negotiations to optimize total cost of ownership (TCO) and value creation (rebates, payment terms, delivery, SLAs, IP considerations)
- Develop and manage a supplier network, building partnerships that deliver innovation, capacity, quality, and competitive advantage
- Drive supplier performance management (KPIs, dashboards, quarterly business reviews), continuous improvement, and corrective actions
- Conduct market intelligence to understand supply/demand dynamics, cost drivers, regulatory changes, and geopolitical risk
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Quality to accelerate Private Label and NPD pipelines—from concept to commercialization
- Support proto sampling, validation, and scale-up activities in alignment with quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Ensure design-for-supply, manufacturability, and sustainability are embedded early in product development
- Lead cost modeling, scenario analysis, and benchmarking to inform awards and portfolio decisions
- Track performance to plan (savings, cost avoidance, working capital, resiliency), reporting outcomes and insights to leadership

Skills/Experience Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years’ experience in sourcing, procurement, and/or purchasing environments supporting product development and commercialization; medical device, medical/clinical expertise, or prior health care experience strongly desired
- Experience working with 3rd party contract manufacturers and/or direct manufacturing partners (medical devices or other healthcare solutions preferred)
- International sourcing experience preferred
- Experience with strategic sourcing and improving supplier performance
- Familiarity with contracting language and experience negotiating contracts with suppliers
- Understanding manufacturing and quality validation processes and best practices preferred
- Strong knowledge of supply chain principles and processes
- Strength in negotiations, cost/price analysis, and purchasing procedures
- Knowledge of bids, RFx events (RFI/RFP/RFQ), and reverse auctions
- Understanding of new product launch and commercialization; experience in product development and manufacturing processes desired
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with demonstrated ability to lead and influence at all levels, including senior stakeholders and business leaders
- Experience with project planning and project management; ability to lead cross-functional project teams
- Proven ability to work successfully in a deadline-driven environment with a sense of urgency
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (advanced Excel and PowerPoint); experience with CRM and/or sourcing tools a plus
