The Role We Want You For

As a Project Engineer with SEI, you will be based on a construction project site. In this role you will use your education and knowledge to support the Project Manager by providing technical support, documenting, and reporting project activities and meetings. Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related degree preferred.
• 0 to 5 years of experience managing construction projects, ideally design-build.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction principles, practices, and technology.
• Previous experience on a successful project management team.
• Ability to walk a job site, climb ladders, and scale multi-floor scaffolding.
• Ability to lift objects of at least 50 lbs.
• General knowledge of the construction industry.

The Role We Want You For

Provides project document coordination and recording throughout the PreBid, Design, Construction and Closeout process. Keep in contact with the design team, project management, peer reviewers and subcontractors to determine document flow and responsibility to maintain Clayco procedural standards while customizing and improving on these standards as required by each project.

Point Person for construction documents including drawings, sketches, specs, closeout documents, contracts and change orders, etc. Logging and tracking these documents and distributing to the Project Team Members and maintaining the electronic filing system.

This person helps to troubleshoot issues that may arise with Subs, Bidders, etc., in accessing/downloading on-line documents. Candidate understands the construction process and will coordinate next steps in keeping with the policies and standards of Clayco as the project progresses.

• Maintain Electronic Project Files and multiple platforms.
• Assist Estimating Department in Bidding Efforts.
• Type, assemble, organize, file, distribute, etc., Project Meeting Minutes, Bid Packages, Submittal Packages, Drawings, Contracts, Change Orders, etc.
• Create and maintain Distribution Lists in PMWeb.
• Manage and adjust workflows for standardized processes with the direction of the project team.
• Enter new companies and update company information in PMWeb, and elsewhere, as necessary.
• Assist in format and content of project specific reports as requested.
• Follow up with Subcontractors, Designers, and Suppliers for submittals, executed contracts, change orders, closeouts, etc.
• Request, assemble and submit the closeout documents to the owner and to archive.
• Maintain company standards and procedures for the Project and follow up with the team to ensure they are being followed.
• Assist in data searches of previous projects.

Requirements

• Experience in the construction industry is a plus
• Two-year degree in business administration or related associates degree is preferred.
• Excellent computer skills, including document management system, Word, Excel, and Outlook, and willingness to regularly update skills
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

The Preconstruction Manager will have a significant role in our preconstruction team. In this role you will be responsible for high level management of design-build project pursuits and preconstruction efforts across business units. You will work collaboratively with the VP of Preconstruction and other Preconstruction team members. Clayco is seeking our next great Superintendent for our national Mission Critical Business Unit. In this role you will provide on-site supervision and quality control for field operations and onsite management of design/build construction projects. The person in this role also reviews documents, responds to scope modification evaluations during construction, and works to complete Clayco projects with respect to Safety, Quality, Schedule and Cost objectives. The Superintendent will observe work in the field and compares to drawings to ensure installations are in accordance with drawings and specifications. You will work closely with clients and as part of a team to provide the best solutions on design-build projects valued anywhere from a $20 million to over $200 million.

• Coordinate with preconstruction, design, engineering, procurement, operations, safety, quality, and all other project site management team members to assure that the there is always adequate project resources.

As the Senior Project Manager (Mechanical Procurement), you will lead complex HVAC/mechanical procurement programs while mentoring and developing junior team members. In addition to owning project buyout through closeout, you will strengthen supplier partnerships, drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, and help expand intercompany sales opportunities and national/strategic agreements.

• Lead mechanical procurement strategy for multiple projects and/or high-complexity packages; set priorities, standardize approach, and ensure consistent execution.
• Perform full Project Manager duties from award through closeout, including contracts/POs, submittals, releases, expediting, change management, invoicing, and closeout deliverables.
• Serve as a senior relationship manager for key OEMs, reps, and suppliers; negotiate strategic pricing, service/startup support, and delivery commitments.
• Coach, mentor, and develop Project Engineers/Project Managers: provide training, review work products (bid tabs, submittals, POs), and support growth plans.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of mechanical construction and HVAC systems/equipment with the ability to lead procurement across design, fabrication, logistics, and field interfaces.
• 5+ years of procurement experience preferred; typically 8+ years in mechanical/HVAC procurement, estimating, project management, or related roles with increasing responsibility.
• Demonstrated leadership experience mentoring others and driving results across multiple concurrent projects.
• Advanced negotiation and contract skills; able to balance schedule, cost, risk, and relationship considerations.

The Role We Want You For

As a Project Director, you will be based on the construction project site and provide leadership on projects as the "single point of contact" for the owner, design department, and the project staff. Ensure quality and timely execution of design-build projects from design to completion and deliver the best solutions on projects valued anywhere from a $60 million to over $250 million. The Scheduling and Planning Manager builds and maintains the project schedule and the different baselines in accordance with Clayco’s policies, owner requirements, and the on-going analysis of the network logic and validation as it complies with the intent of the project team. Cost and resource loading including the Clayco metrics and general conditions is required on all project schedules so, all report generation and cash flows will be a critical element of the role.

The Specifics of the Role

• Periodic progress updates of in-progress schedules. Collection of all pertinent data required to update the schedule. The Scheduler is responsible for collection of update data from multiple sources, including the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Owners Representatives and subcontractors. All update data shall be approved by the Project Manager prior to incorporation into the schedule.
• Maintenance of Project Schedule Baselines. Maintains Project Schedule Baselines in accordance with Clayco’s policy regarding Baselines and any additional requirements the Owner’s contracts may include.
• Periodic Performance Report Generation. Generation of project specific Performance Reports as well as Clayco Standard reports, including but not limited to: Critical Activities Report, Baseline Deviation Report, Earned Value Performance Index Report and Project Cash Flow Report.
• Cost and Resource Loading of Schedules. Required at a minimum on all Clayco projects to include the Clayco Metrics Resource Set for project staff and General Conditions. As required by the project, updating cost and resource actuals may be required as part of the periodic progress update process.
• Network Logic Analysis and Validation. On-going analysis of the network logic and validation that it complies with the intent of the project team and that it complies with the Clayco Standard Guidelines for network logic. The network logic on-going analysis shall also include removal of extraneous and superfluous dependencies that may cause errors in calculating total float and criticality.
• Assist in preparation of Monthly Schedule Reporting. Preparation of the required reports for the project and shall include assisting with the draft of the Monthly Schedule Narrative.
• Schedule Development. Developing schedules from the ground up for both proposals and construction projects. Development of both types of schedules shall be a team effort.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction, or related major is required.
• 6-10 years of scheduling experience.
• Data Center experience.
• Recent expertise and a proven knowledge of Primavera P-6 scheduling management system.
• Project Management experience working for general contractor preferred.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Outlook and willingness to regularly update skills.
• Knowledge in BIM and how it relates to scheduling and sequencing is preferred.
• Ability to travel and move depending on project locations.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Excellent listening skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent and efficient quality of work.

As an Assistant Superintendent, you will be based on the construction project site, and will be responsible for field operations and onsite construction management of design-build construction projects, specifically quality control for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection, construction, start up, and testing on highly complex projects nationwide. The Assistant Superintendent will have input in the planning and oversight of the job including scheduling of manpower, obtaining tools and materials needed, filing permits and other documents, and advising on budget expenditures. The Assistant Superintendent will also provide on-site supervision of the daily workload, job site safety, receiving and storing of tools and supplies, and the reporting of all of these aspects to the Project Manager and Project Superintendent. Additionally, the Assistant Superintendent is expected to work diligently to educate themselves with Clayco on site Superintendent and Operations Manager duties to take the next step to becoming a Superintendent.
