We are looking for an Orthopedic Surgeon to help care for our fast growing roster of patients. We are looking for someone who is interested in caring for patients with orthopedic injuries and assist in pain management health services. While working alongside many physicians, specialists, PAβs and talented staff, the ideal candidate will hold a vital role in providing the necessary medical services, performing surgical procedures and other related medical services. Our new surgeon would be responsible for providing care to existing patients as well as new patients. Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients and provide appropriate diagnosis for illness and/or injuries with bones, joints, ligaments and other related injuries.
- Preform necessary surgical and medical procedures.
- Thoroughly examine patientβs medical history, test results and imagery to diagnose and create and execute treatment plans.
- Carefully and attentively operate on patients to treat, repair or improve functioning joints, bones, ligaments and/or other related injured body parts.
- Ensure patients understand their diagnosis and receive relevant information.
- Must be open-minded when discussing various treatment option for patient, ensuring all options are taken into consideration.
- Document all patient evaluations, treatments, medications and transactions according to company policies and procedures.
- Monitor patients progress during and after treatments and/or surgery.
- Prescribe, administer and dispense medication in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Share expertise with physicians and other medical staff to ensure that patient is receiving best care possible.
- Supervise Medical Assistants and PAβs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and procedures.
- Communicate with management and administration to ensure details of medical treatment and/or surgeries are precise.
- Communicated extensively with all required parties to ensure all treating physicians are on board with patientβs diagnosis, treatment plan and all necessary medical procedures.
- Answered all questions and addressed all concerns before, during, and after any surgical procedures.
- Willing to advance patient care by expanding knowledge associated with surgical and technical procedures.
Requirements:
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery
- Medical Degree from an Accredited University
- New York Medical License
- Must have 5+ Yearsβ experience
- Previous clinical experience as a PM&R (Preferred)
- Previous work experience in work and motor vehicle related injuries preferred
- Workerβs Compensation Authorized
- Knowledge of No Fault and Worker Compensation Laws and Regulations
- Must be willing to travel within NYC to CitiMed Locations.

You can learn more about us at Medicine & Rehabilitation physicians (PM&R), treat patients with physical impairments or disabilities to improve their quality of life and functional ability. They may work with patients who have injuries to their muscles, bones, tissues, or nervous system. PM&R physicians may also treat patients with neuromuscular disorders, musculoskeletal trauma, chronic pain, cardiac or pulmonary disease, or other disabling conditions.
Some responsibilities of PM&R physicians include:
- Examining patients: Assessing mobility, strength, communication, cognition and pain characteristics
- Developing treatment plans: Using non-medical devices or therapies
- Monitoring progress: Tracking patient responses to treatments and the effectiveness of pain management interventions
- Teaching patients: Helping patients and their families adapt to lifestyle changes PM&R physicians who treat injured workers may need to coordinate medical care if multiple specialty physicians are required.
- Workerβs Compensation is a no-fault insurance program that may cover rehabilitative services, such as physical or occupational therapy, if deemed medically necessary. Some PM&R physician jobs may prefer candidates with previous clinical experience in PM&R, work and motor vehicle-related injuries, and knowledge of workersβ compensation and no-fault laws & regulations.
Requirements:
- Must hold a current license
- Must be Board Certified PM&R

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Medical Coder with expertise in Pain Management and Orthopedic coding to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of coding guidelines and regulations, ensuring accurate coding for optimal reimbursement and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurate Coding: Assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for pain management and orthopedic services, including surgical procedures, injections, and diagnostic tests.
- Documentation Review: Analyze medical records, operative reports, and provide documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy of coding.
- Compliance: Ensure coding practices adhere to federal, state, and payer-specific regulations, including NCCI edits and LCD/NCD guidelines.
- Denial Management: Collaborate with billing and clinical staff to address coding-related denials and implement corrective actions.
- Education & Training: Provide feedback and education to providers and staff with documentation requirements and coding updates.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in internal audits and quality improvement initiatives to maintain high coding accuracy standards.
- Data Analysis: Utilize coding data to identify trends, opportunities for revenue enhancement, and areas for process improvement.
Qualifications
- Certification: Active AAPC certification (CPC, COSC, or CANPC) or AHIMA equivalent (CCS, CCS-P).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of coding experience in pain management and orthopedic specialties.
- Knowledge: Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II coding systems, and medical terminology related to musculoskeletal and pain management services.
- Technical Skills: Experience with EHR systems and coding software (e.g., EncoderPro, 3M).
- Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret complex medical documentation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare providers and staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Certification: COSC (Certified Orthopedic Surgery Coder) or CANPC (Certified Anesthesia and Pain Management Coder).
- Audit Experience: Familiarity with conducting coding audits and implementing compliance strategies.
