Job Summary:

The position is a full-time, in person position (at least, initially) and is available immediately. There is possibility of part-time work from home once fully up to speed. Duties include representation of the Standing Trustee before the Bankruptcy Court and conducting Meetings of Creditors. The staff attorney must assist the Standing Trustee in investigating the financial affairs of debtors and in meeting the duties of a fiduciary, which require the diligent exercise of good faith in administration of the estates under the Standing Trustee's supervision. Bankruptcy education or extern, intern or work experience is preferred. Candidates must be eligible for admission to practice in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Indiana, which simply requires admission to the highest court of any state. Passage of the Indiana Bar, while not initially necessary if a foreign license is held, will be a goal. The successful candidate must possess strong verbal, writing and interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle a high-volume caseload. Salary is commensurate with this entry level position.

Qualifications:

To be qualified an applicant should possess integrity and good moral character; be free of prejudices which would interfere with unbiased performance of the staff attorneys' duties; and be unrelated by affinity or consanguinity within the degree of first cousin to a Bankruptcy Judge presiding in the Northern District of Indiana, the Bankruptcy Clerk of Court, the U.S. Trustee for Region 10 or the Assistant U.S. Trustee for the South Bend Office of U.S. Trustee. Compensation:

The staff attorney's annual salary and benefits are part of the Standing Trustee's annual operating budget, which is subject to review and approval by the U.S. Trustee. The approved salary for the staff attorney position is $82,774 to $124,160. In addition to this salary, benefits presently include, subject to applicable participation requirements:

A minimum of 10 paid Federal holidays per year.

Staff Attorney (Immigration)

ABOUT THE POSITION

LSC seeks an attorney to represent children in immigration proceedings. Our immigration clients are primarily monolingual Spanish speakers and also include Central American and Mexican indigenous youth as well as youth of African descent. We welcome applicants at all levels and provide opportunities for training and leadership. Review of candidates will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

Key areas of responsibilities include:

Β· Conducting legal screenings, client interviews, and factual and legal investigations, counseling clients, developing case strategies and case plans, and engaging in oral and written advocacy as part of representing children in immigration matters (primarily Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, Asylum, T and U visa cases)

Β· Representing non-detained youth in Immigration Court proceedings and related state court matters (probate guardianship and dependency as needed), as well as applications before U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) and cases before Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA)

Β· Engaging in advocacy efforts on behalf of children, including conducting community presentations for children, families, schools, and community organizations

Β· Representing LSC in local and national coalitions and collaboratives as needed

Β· Occasional on-call attorney rotations with the Rapid Response Network

Β· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Β· 0-4 years experience as a licensed attorney. Current California Bar Membership in good standing preferred – candidates barred in good standing in other states who are eligible for provisional licensure will also be considered, but presence in the SF Bay Area is required. We will consider candidates with pending Bar Exam results.

SALARY & BENEFITS

Salary scale is non-negotiable and is based on years of relevant full-time experience as an attorney, ranging from $78,13 years). Benefits include fully paid health insurance for employees and majority paid for child dependents (medical, dental, and vision), retirement contribution and generous paid leave (vacation, sick, holiday, and sabbatical). LSC also offers a flexible spending account for qualified health expenditures.

LSC has a "hybrid" model in which the employee can work a blend of field, home and office. This position is based in San Francisco and requires presence in the area with the ability to come to the office and other locations in the Bay Area.

The Outpatient Cancer Center provides intravenous administration of medication, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and blood products. Direct specialized patient care and education for the outpatient Oncology population, including Hematology patient population and non-Oncology infusions.

Role Purpose

Creates and implement staff education and professional development activities and programs that optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates ongoing educational and professional development activities and programs for clinical and non-clinical areas.
- Collaborates with staff and representatives of other organizations to develop, present and or evaluate clinically focused training, continuing education and or professional development opportunities.
- Participates in activities that promote safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborates with leadership to assess the educational needs of the staff and develops appropriate education plan.
- Participates in professional development and life long learning.
