Our client is seeking a Lead Environmental Technician to join their team at a facility located in Kokomo, In. This individual will be responsible for leading the packaging, handling, and shipping of solid and hazardous waste at the plant.
Responsibilities and Job Duties:
Collect trash, recyclables, hazardous waste, scrap metal and other waste streams throughout the plant and transports to disposal container or storage room.
- Segregate, sort and package waste streams for off-site shipment in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements.
- Load semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment to landfill, recycling center, and any other disposal streams.
- Perform and document daily equipment inspection prior to use.
- Clean/maintain organization and compliance of 90-day Accumulation Area, including sweeping the floor, mopping the floor, labeling drums.
- Supervisor with response to chemical spill incidents by placing adsorbents on liquids, sweeping or vacuuming solids and containerizing cleaned up materials for proper disposal.
- Assist Project Manager with daily supply delivery, waste pick up and waste organization.
- Perform inspections of waste storage areas, and emergency equipment, taking corrective action to eliminate deficiencies identified during the inspection.
- Inventory and Inspections of Waste Spill Kits.
- Document and inform Resource Manager of any contamination in plant’s recycling and waste containers.
- Maintain necessary documentation of waste inventories, inspections and other activities as required.
- Operate fork truck to load/unload trucks.
- Operate Burden carriers.
- Follow all plant- related safety guidelines.
- Sort and bale recyclable material.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate slitter, rewinder, or flexo press machines according to job specifications
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
- Perform job changeovers with minimal downtime
- Inspect finished rolls for accuracy, proper tension, and defects
- Accurately record production and quality data
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
- Load, unload, label, and prepare materials for shipping
- Complete approximately two weeks of training on first shift prior to transitioning to assigned shift
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating slitter, rewinder, or flexographic press equipment preferred
- Experience working with film, paper, foil, or label materials
- Ability to follow safety procedures and wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, hair nets, and beard nets

Schedule & Compensation
- Bi-weekly payroll via direct deposit

Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage initiatives that ensure product safety, uniformity, and quality across all dietary supplement and nutrition manufacturing operations.
- Direct Quality Assurance and Regulatory functions, including team oversight and process management.
