Job Purpose

To contribute to the development of functioning prototypes that will eventually become production ATV/SxS vehicles, researching and applying new technologies to support business targets and maintaining global vehicle product quality.

Key Accountabilities

Develop basic component and system layouts for ATV/SxS prototype vehicles using computer-aided design software that achieve concept targets, function requirements, and manufacturing requisites with minimal supervision. Communicate specification requirements and manufacturing control points via prototype and production drawings that result in setting the final specifications of global ATV & SxS new models and mass production vehicles. Maintain accurate technical, development, and administrative documentation as required.

Adhere to given cost targets for responsible parts that contribute to achievement of the vehicle development targets and achieve the cost targets through optimizing basic part/system designs and offsetting any spec changes after target fix through implementation of additional cost reduction ideas.

Create and manage schedule of individual work to ensure deadlines are met, coordinate resource needs with supervisor, and effectively utilize contractor resources with minimal supervision. Consistently communicate project status and participate in project meetings, discussions, and development events.

Generate basic ideas that contribute to the evolution of new technologies. Support maturation of ideas to prepare for development applications with minimal supervision.

Support market quality themes under the direction of others. Utilize problem-solving methods to analyse root causes. Develop and implement C/M specs as necessary with minimal supervision.

As a Principal CAE Engineer in the Advanced CAE Department, you will be responsible to lead a project or team for CAE model and method creation related to structural based CAE for strength and reliability. Β Proficient use and understanding of CAE methods contributes to improved optimization, speed, and efficiency of our products and development processes.


Key Accountabilities:

Β 

  • Lead and provide technical guidance for a team(s) or project(s) to develop and validate new CAE methods for both specification setting and product verification.
  • Develops and evaluates metrics for quality of modeling and analysis.
  • Assist in setting the plan for the technical direction of CAE methods development
  • Collaborate with principal test and principal design engineers to ensure CAE models are achieving accuracy targets.Β 
  • Collaborate with other principal engineers to ensure the CAE methods are meeting the requirements for application to development projects.
  • Create documentation for the registration of CAE Models as a verified tool for specification setting and product verification.


Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

  • BS in mechanical engineering. Β Advanced degree preferred
  • 8+ years of experience based on education
  • Expertise with software such as Simulia’s MODSIM, Abaqus, Optistruct, and Ansa. Also expertise with programming language software such as Matlab, Python, and Excel VBA.
  • Expertise with creation of new CAE Models/Methods and performing verification and validation.
  • Ability to present complex concepts as simple summaries
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Purpose

As a senior member of the Advanced CAE Department, you will be responsible for creating and validating 1D CAE models and processes related to vehicle dynamics, powertrain propulsion & thermal systems, and electrical systems. Proficient use of CAE contributes to improved optimization, speed, and efficiency of our products and development processes.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop CAE methods that accurately represent the part or system of interest. Model fidelity should match the type of decision being made with the model. Model development will be for both specification setting early in development and product verification as designs mature.Β  During and after development of a CAE method, conduct validation of the method with respect to the physical system the method represents, to ensure the fidelity needed is achieved
  • Collaborate with test and part design engineers to understand the physical part and test procedures to accurately set the CAE model boundaries, constraints, and assumptions
  • Create documentation that clearly explains the CAE model inputs, assumptions, setup, process, validation, and outputsΒ 
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Manufacturing Engineer – Die Engineering - Die Process.


  • Drive product development lifecycle to ensure robust, feasible, and manufacturable stamped panels.
  • Conduct early stamping process feasibility evaluation in an integrated CAD/CAE environment and coordinate between product development and manufacturing teams to lead resolution of manufacturing feasibility concerns.
  • Lead the creation of draw die CAD developments and construction release files for new model stampings.
  • Update and maintain existing stamping die process information for the inclusion of improvements, service requirements and carry-over modified part releases required for new model usage.
  • Develop stamping die processes for new model parts, optimized for cost and quality on a timely basis to achieve company objectives.
  • Lead the development of Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEAs) for new model stampings.
  • Participate in and initiate cost requests for new model costing, evaluation of engineering proposals.
  • Perform simulations of stamping processes for comprehensive formability evaluation.
  • Optimize stamping processes: Perform draw and line die simulations and remain extensively involved in taking corrective measures to resolve stamping concerns through the refinement of product design and the stamping process until the launch of production to ensure that the manufactured stamping quality is in adherence to Our Client's standards.
  • Support die design and tooling problem resolution during tool construction. Hybrid.


Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science or related degree;
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience: Die Process, CAD Draw Development, Die Design, Die Construction and / or Tryout.
  • Experience with stamping and machining processes.
  • Must be capable of conducting early stamping process feasibility evaluations in an integrated CAD/CAE environment.
  • Must be able to perform simulations of stamping processes for comprehensive formability and dimensional evaluation.
  • Must support the die design sections.
  • Must be fluent with at least one stamping process simulation software: Dyna, Autoform or ESI PamStamp.
