A Day in the Life of the Broadband Network Technician I: Detect, troubleshoot and resolve system outages in aerial and/or underground capacities related to transmission levels, signal losses and off-air interference.

Use a tension meter to set cable tension according to specifications.
Conduct reaming and riveting as necessary to complete work assignments.
Report job handicaps, such as errors in parts, materials, or assembly procedures, following shop procedures.
Select appropriate parts, materials, and tools, and work with blueprints, assembly pages, and work orders to install and adjust cable-controlled systems in the aircraft.
Review bar charts or automated timelines to determine job assignments and obtain necessary drawings.
Locate work areas using drawings or paperwork that specify airplane and section numbers.
Verify kitted parts against installation plans and bill of materials to ensure they are correct and free of defects.
Obtain parts from the Parts Control Area if they are not pre-picked, ensuring they meet specifications.
Drill, ream, and countersink holes in parts/assemblies per specifications, using appropriate tools.
Disassemble parts and deburr holes to prepare for fastener installation.
Use solvents to clean surfaces prior to sealing or assembly, and apply sealants, alodine, primers, adhesives, and special finishes as required.
Install cable control pulleys and rig control cables according to drawings and specifications.
Check and adjust actuator motors for full travel of flight control systems using power sources and hand tools.
Clean the work area and ensure the removal of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and submit completed jobs or in-process checks to inspectors as required.
Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:
Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.

General Summary of Position:
This position is for a telecommunications, structured cabling, and technology Field Service Technician. The job will consist of completing various cable runs, hardware moves, adds, changes and "smart hands" installations for Granite customers, primarily within a 50-mile service area radius. Job Summary
Seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to support high-volume cable manufacturing operations by improving equipment capability, mechanical performance, and process robustness of cable/ribbon assembly lines. The role involves equipment optimization, mechanical design, production troubleshooting, and new equipment implementation while ensuring strong process capability and manufacturing efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and improve the mechanical capability of cable/ribbon assembly equipment.
- Monitor and optimize equipment capability metrics including OEE, Cp/Cpk, uptime, scrap, and yield.
- Conduct mechanical capability studies, line balancing, and throughput optimization.
- Identify mechanical constraints affecting line speed, tension stability, concentricity, and dimensional control.
- Design and modify tooling, fixtures, guides, rollers, payoff systems, and tension control mechanisms.
- Create 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, or equivalent CAD tools.
- Perform engineering calculations related to tension, torque, inertia, thermal effects, and material deformation.
- Support equipment retrofits, modernization, production trials, and equipment startups.
- Conduct root cause analysis for mechanical/process issues and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with process, controls, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve equipment issues.
- Support FAT/SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ validation, and line acceptance activities.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 3–6 years of experience in cable manufacturing or cable assembly equipment engineering.
- Hands-on experience with ribboning, stranding, extrusion, shielding, jacketing, or armoring equipment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems in continuous manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD).
- Experience with data analysis tools such as JMP, Excel, or Minitab.

- Shall be able to install ladder racking and seismic bracing both above and under raise floor.

- Reporting: Provide regular sales reports, forecasts, and updates via Salesforce to VP of Sales and senior leadership team.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in EF&I services, telecommunications, cable manufacturing, or related industries.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of EF&I services and cable manufacturing processes.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Travel: Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
