Project Administrator

NJ Data Center growing Information Technology/Design/Engineer Firm is seeking a Project Administrator to join our team. The Project Administrator is responsible for managing the administrative tasks and logistical aspects of data center construction or expansion projects, including coordinating with various teams, tracking project progress, maintaining documentation, and ensuring smooth execution of project activities under the guidance of a project manager, all while adhering to deadlines and budget constraints; essentially acting as the organizational backbone for the project.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Support project team on all administrative tasks and duties.
  2. Heavy client/vendor/supplier interaction.
  3. Preparation of spreadsheet reports, contracts documents, purchase and change order requests, presentations, and correspondence.
  4. Receive, maintain and distribute submittals, RFI’s, shop drawings and establish project log to record receipt and disposition of same.
  5. Coordinate project meetings and travel arrangements.
  6. Maintain electronic and manual database of all project files and archives.
  7. Other responsibilities normally performed in the execution of a Project Administrator position according to standard Architectural/Engineering industry practices.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain deep technical expertise across datacenter technologies including virtualization, Windows Server, storage, backup/DR, datacenter networking, and identity/core services (AD/DNS/DHCP).
  • Resolve complex, multi-layer support incidents involving availability, performance, recoverability, and security across compute, storage, virtualization, and infrastructure services in a multi-customer MSP environment. Work from RSI offices to diagnose and resolve both emergency and chronic problems related to availability, security, performance, connectivity, and overall functionality.
  • Partner with Service Desk, Network, Security, and Projects teams to deliver customer outcomes and improve service maturity through standardization, documentation, and automation.
  • Attend or participate in various product training sessions and classes in order to broaden your skillset while maintaining RSI’s vendor relationships
  • Meet with customers to discuss and outline new approaches and configurations that improve and enhance their current environments

Qualifications/Requirements

1-3 years of equivalent technology experience

Able to demonstrate associate level expertise or equivalent certification level in one or more of the following areas:

  • Datacenter / Virtualization
  • VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter (preferred) and/or Hyper-V
  • Compute platforms such as Cisco UCS and/or HPE

Summary

  • We're looking for a motivated Engineering Technician (Contract) for support our Colossus quality assurance labs. In this role, you will be faced the challenge of providing a test-bed for our developers to test software on various hardware before releasing them.
  • Additionally, collaborate with Infrastructure Engineers, installing and maintaining Windows/Linux platforms and using creativity while finding solutions.
  • We expect things to break in this lab, as the software is mostly low-level device drivers, and the bugs in them do break boards and GPUs.
  • We seek to catch problems early in our labs rather than in user devices.
  • Our labs run more than 100,000 tests per day and is part of a DevOps pipeline that needs constant supervision, tracking, monitoring and break-fix.


What you'll be doing:

  • Handling Labs and Datacenters using DCIM Tools, spreadsheets and task tracking tools.
  • Your responsibilities will also include defining standards in labs to keep them safe, clean and organized.
  • Deploy test boards that run automated tests from a Software Developers and triage and root cause board issues which are not due to hardware or software issues but, that potentially have test setup issues.
  • Remove and redeploy boards that need software and/or hardware upgrades from board engineers in a regular cadence.
  • Work closely and pro-actively with other engineering teams such as system architects, chip and board designers, software/firmware engineers, HW/SW QA teams and Applications engineering teams to drive design, development, debug and release of next generations products.
  • Take active part in procurement decisions for Lab by choosing from various options available, getting test copies and doing proof of concepts and then providing recommendations.
  • Collect data for critical metrics for the lab and track progress.


What we need to see:

  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in a Tech related Major or 4+ years of equivalent experience in a Lab or Datacenter environment.
