Serena & Lily is seeking a Technical Furniture Designer to join our Design Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the technical development process of all furniture categories. This role involves ensuring that quality, accuracy and on time execution in a cost-effective manner of all furniture projects from concept to production, are met while maintaining brand integrity. This position reports directly to CDO.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Translate design direction from CDO into detailed technical specs with accurate renderings to illustrate concept ideals.

Project Management

Pay Transparency
The expected pre-tax pay for this position is,
$83,800.00 - $142,715.00This reflects base salary.
This position is subject to incentive compensation, where the expected pre-tax Target Cash Opportunity ("TCO") for this position is based on the achieved sales and in the amount/range of,

Primary responsibility for implementing projects that align with HMC and King County 2020 Bond Capital equipment projects and initiatives at Harborview Medical Center
Responsible for space, move and construction projects
You will work throughout the 2 million square foot campus and interact with front line staff, managers, administrative staff, hospital leadership, engineering and maintenance, construction services, infection control, environmental services and several other departments
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assure that space, move and construction projects meet regulations
Process and complete furniture request work orders in a timely and efficient manner
Coordinate quotes and purchase of furniture with vendors and end users
Issue work orders for minor construction work needed to support small furniture and move requests, i.e. installing or moving electrical outlets, installation of data/phone ports, cleaning, and painting spaces
Collaborate with Harborview’s Interior Design Lead
Assist with move coordination on major Capital Projects
Space and occupancy assessment to ensure workspaces are in accordance with our guidelines and principles
Work with the Space Manager to resolve space requests and implement moves

What Will You Do

- Lead, coach, and develop company associates and foster a culture of accountability and high performance. Oversee labor scheduling, shift planning and attendance tracking. Monitor employee productivity and operational efficiency, identifying and addressing performance gaps. Conduct regular safety meetings, training sessions, and compliance audits to maintain workplace safety and operational excellence
- Build, maintain and manage relationships with third-party delivery partners (3PLs), independent contractors, and company employees to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
- Oversee daily final-mile delivery operations, ensuring efficiency, cost control, and adherence to Final Mile performance metrics. Monitor route optimization strategies to improve delivery speed and delivery quality while reducing operating costs. Conduct weekly performance reviews of third-party partners and review contracts to ensure alignment with business objectives
- Drive a customer-centric culture by improving complete, on-time delivery, reducing damages, and improving upon returns and replacement rates. Manage escalations and determine resolution to maintain high service standards and customer satisfaction
- Oversee the maintenance and organization of the warehouse, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and accident investigations, implementing corrective actions as needed
- Maintain inventory control processes, ensuring accurate tracking of shipments and minimizing loss or damage. Ensure dock flow efficiency, optimizing staging areas and coordinating with delivery schedules
- Develop and execute contingency plans for seasonal demand, weather disruptions, and other logistical challenges

- In lieu of a degree, 6-8 years of progressively responsible furniture/ final mile distribution leadership experience

- Strong ability to communicate effectively (written or verbal), with excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills
- Must be highly organized and process oriented
- Ability to complete multiple tasks consistently and on time
- Warehouse Management System experience
- Solid understanding of Safety and OSHA standards
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills to successfully respond to urgent situations
- Ability to adapt and change processes to keep pace with the evolving business requirements
- Strong technical skills included but not limited to Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint

- Six Sigma Black Belt or demonstrated Lean Manufacturing experience
- Knowledge and execution of Final-mile delivery models, including white-glove service and same-day or multi-day delivery routing
- Exposure to furniture manufacturing, distribution and/or big box distribution
- Final Mile Transportation carrier contract negotiations or procurement experience

As a Private Label Account Specialist, you will play a key role in expanding our private label business and strengthening our client partnerships.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manage a portfolio of furniture private label accounts, serving as the main point of contact and building strong relationships with clients.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, design, manufacturing, and logistics, to ensure successful execution of private label projects.
· Follow up customers supply chain process for direct container shipping from overseas direct to customers.
· Daily communication and follow up with overseas vendors/Suppliers. Able to direct design concepts and spec information, analyze required information/details before disseminating to the suppliers.
· Coordinate production timeline requirements with sense of urgency, diligence, and attention to detail.
· Assist with entering, auditing, and analyzing new and existing product data information including costing, pricing, dimensions, materials, parts, and supplier information in various internal systems.
· Conduct regular meetings with clients to understand their furniture needs, provide product recommendations, and present new design concepts.
· Work closely with clients to develop customized private label furniture collections, considering their brand identity, target market, and pricing requirements.
· Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market demand to identify opportunities for new product development and differentiation.
· Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with clients, ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction.
· Track and analyze sales data, generate reports, and provide insights and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
· Navigate, monitor, and complete task requirements in account Portal and maintain customer vendor guidelines.
· Stay updated on industry regulations, certifications, and compliance requirements related to furniture manufacturing, labeling and maintain customer vendor guidelines to ensure the company is compliant.
· Works closely with inventory management.
· Works closely with QC team overseas to address quality issues with suppliers.
· Attending trade shows, industry events, and client visits to represent the company and promote private label offerings if necessary.
· Follows all CH Company policies, rules, and regulations, including Safety.
· Perform other job-related duties as assigned by company and /or Supervisor.
· Provide training for new employees as needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
· Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, interior design, or a related field.
· Proven experience in account management or sales within the furniture industry.
· Strong knowledge of furniture design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
· Have a clear understanding of the supply chain process for direct container shipping from overseas direct to customers.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and internal teams.
· Ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
· Ability to understand client needs and translate them into successful private label furniture collections.
· Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving sales and revenue growth.

· Basic knowledge of project management within the home décor industry a plus.
