The Director of Robotics is responsible for overseeing the robotic surgery program across EHC.
This role provides strategic, operational, financial and clinical leadership, ensuring high standards of care, and guiding the professional development of team members.
The Director of Robotics collaborates closely with Operating Units, physicians, clinical teams, and administrative staff to promote the safe, efficient, and evidence-based delivery of care.
They are accountable for aligning departmental goals with organizational priorities, facilitating interdisciplinary coordination, and driving continuous improvement across all aspects of the organization.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Planning and Development: 1.
Creating and implementing a long-term vision and strategy for robotic surgery within the organization.
2.
Chair Committees, provide reports and recommendations to hospital committees and MECs.
Develop and update training and credentialing guidelines.
Program Management: 1.
Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the robotic surgery program, including scheduling, resource allocation, and quality assurance.
2.
Develop policies, procedures, and quality review processes.
3.
Collaborate with departments throughout the hospital.
Staff Training and Education: 1.
Ensuring that surgeons, nurses, and other staff are properly trained in the use of robotic surgical systems and associated technologies.
2.
Establish and retain a core robotic team, including ongoing training initiatives.
3.
Establish the capability for independent training of visiting operating room teams and teaching opportunities.
4.
Provide clinical and operative support to new and existing robotic surgeons.
Technology Acquisition and Management: Evaluating and selecting appropriate robotic surgical systems and ensuring their proper maintenance and upkeep.
Financial Management: 1.
Participate in budget planning and present capital needs to executive leadership.
2.
Managing the budget for the robotic surgery program, including capital expenditures, operating costs, and revenue generation.
Collaboration and Communication: 1.
Working with surgeons, hospital administrators, and other stakeholders to promote the robotic surgery program and ensure its success.
2.
Collaborate with operating room staff to enhance overall efficiency by reducing turnover times, improving intraoperative skills, and developing a dedicated, robotic-capable team Quality Improvement: Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and implementing quality improvement initiatives to optimize patient outcomes and program efficiency.
Outreach: 1.
Engage with referring physicians, increase referrals, and support subspecialty recruitment.
2.
Build strong relationships with key physicians in strategically targeted areas.
3.
Deliver presentations at physician meetings and regional events/dinners.
4.
Increase referrals for robotic and minimally invasive surgeries.
5.
Support recruitment and development of additional robotic subspecialties.

This position will require that the incumbent possesses the clinical evaluation and educational skills expected of an athletic trainer for Emory Healthcare.
Additionally, the incumbent will provide athletic training services for Emory Orthopedics or Sports Medicine under the direction of a designated orthopedic physician.
The incumbent has direct patient contact primarily for the evaluation and treatment of medical and musculoskeletal pathology consistent with the scope and practice of athletic training clinical competencies as defined by the NATABOC and the State of Georgia Athletic Training Credentialing Board.
The incumbent must perform many of the outlined tasks with minimal or no supervision in the clinical setting.
Identifies, documents, and resolves complex patient problems related to musculoskeletal care and patient service.
Assures continuity of care through effective decision-making resulting in quality patient care.

Order and interpret diagnostic studies under the direction of a physician, including; radiographs, MRIs, EMG studies, CT scans, diagnostic ultrasounds, rehabilitation referrals, and physician referrals.
Performance of educational responsibilities in specific to the needs of each individual patient, including; exercise instruction and demonstration and answering patient questions in regards to the treatment plan, surgery, rehabilitation and future care.
Prepare and assist the physician with injection procedures done in the office.
Provides proper post operative wound care and education, removal of sutures and dressing changes to post-surgical patients as directed by the attending physician.
Documentation of each patient visit following all outlined guidelines in the electronic databases to include history, physical exam, diagnostic test results, impression, plan, and patient learning.
Attendance at greater than 75% of the educational programming offered by Emory Sports Medicine (i.e.

Works with manager to formulate plan for professional development.

The Nurse Research Scientist at Duke University Health System (DUHS) and Duke University School of Nursing (DUSON) leads and evaluates nursing research and evidence-based practice (EBP) initiatives to improve patient care and outcomes. This dual-role position bridges clinical and academic domains. Responsibilities include coordinating EBP programs and fellowships, mentoring staff and students, facilitating IRB processes, and promoting research dissemination. The role also supports strategic planning, interdepartmental collaboration, scholarly publications, and grant development.
Plans, implements, and evaluates nursing research and evidence-based practice activities, to promote the delivery of quality patient care and improved patient outcomes. The role facilitates nursing services strategic research priorities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Promotes, supports, and facilitates individuals engaging in research activities to advance research in practice: evidence-based practice, the conduct of research, research utilization, and dissemination of research results.
- Serves as co-chair for the Nursing Clinical Research Council, coordinates, guides, leads and provides support for council activities and serves as the liaison to the nursing shared governance structure.
- Conducts an annual clinical research needs assessment and uses results to construct a strategic plan to develop clinical research for nursing.
- Collaborates and develops innovative programs to educate, mentor, and enhance the knowledge of nursing staff.
- Serves in a leadership role to coordinate the annual research symposium.
- Seeks research funding through grant applications, assists departments and individual health care professionals to apply and obtain such funding for research projects and activities.
- Fosters the development of an environment conducive to the conduct of inquiry; research and practice.
- Promotes collaborative multidisciplinary research.
- Serves as liaison between DUHS Nursing and the Office of Research Affairs of the Duke University School of Nursing, DTNI and other academic programs on research related activities including linking student projects of all levels of instruction to hospital research needs/ activities.
- Develops and maintains a database of Duke Nursing clinical research projects.
- Facilitates and directs the development of interdepartmental and interdisciplinary research activities, including generating research interest groups.
- Conducts independent research in areas of interest.
- Serves on departmental and external committees.
- Supports institutions efforts to improve quality care, linking research to improved patient outcomes.
- Conducts research connected to the National Patient Safety Standards. Participates in department-based activities and initiatives to improve and ensure a safe environment.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Experience
