Atkore currently has openings for Machine Operator/Coilers in our New Bedford, MA facility. All openings will be 3rd Shift (Midnight - 8am), Monday through Friday (occasional overtime may be required including weekends) however training may take place on any shift.



Responsibilities include set up, operation, inspection and adjustment of large and/or heavy coiling equipment. This role requires lifting up to 70 lbs as well as pushing/pulling of coiling materials, completion of necessary paperwork and maintaining a clean and organized work area.



Job Requirements:




  • High School diploma or equivalent education and experience strongly preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work in an environment with loud noises, smells and/or extreme temperatures at times.

Facilitates communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and teachers, staff members, and peers within an educational environment, using a variety of manual and verbal communication systems in a highly proficient manner reflecting the affect of the speaker and/or signer. The Interpreter for Deaf/Hard of Hearing facilitates communication through the use of sign-to English and English-to-sign skills. This position requires course work, Level 4 certification, and competency using manual sign systems.



Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interprets for students who are deaf or hard of hearing (DHH) in a variety of educational settings, including, but not limited to, classroom environments, assemblies, recess, noon sport leagues, and counseling sessions using various sign language systems and voice interpretation at a normal conversational rate
  • Interprets a wide range of curriculum, including scientific and advanced placement topics
  • Consults with the teachers of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing, general education staff and typical students on the effective use of an interpreter

  • Collaborates with IEP teams to standardize signs in an educational setting

The Order Filler / Shipping Clerk is responsible for picking, packing and shipping of materials out of the warehouse to internal and external customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Picks, packs and ships outbound shipments efficiently, effectively and in a safe manner

* Manages work area and restocks product as needed.

* Prepacks product in smaller packaging that requires breakdown from bulk packaging.

* Assists in cycle count and full physical inventory as needed.

* Rotates stock according to receipt date and expiration dates to ensure proper stock rotation and use prior to expiration.

* Identifies short-dated materials upon receipt (less than 90 days of shelf life) and reports to the Warehouse Manager to determine any possible actions that may need to be taken.

* Analyzes current procedures in place and makes recommendations for process improvements to the Warehouse Manager.

* Performs other duties as required.
