Qualifications: Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: AS Degree from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology Program OR AS Degree from accredited Radiologic Technologist Program.
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose Licensure/Certification/Registration: If incumbent/candidate has an AS Degree from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology Program, must be credentialed by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
If incumbent/candidate has an AS Degree from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program, must possess the Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI), Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) or Radiography (R) Registration Category issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
The CI registration is the preferred registration.
Current ACLS/BLS.
Performs radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis. Performs radiologic procedures within the professional parameters established in registry requirements and policy and procedures specifications of the Health System. Assumes responsibility for assigned duties promptly and efficiently. Complies with instructions from supervisor to whom responsible. Contributes to the overall success of the Radiology team. Maintains a good working relationship with co-workers and other University Health System employees, patients and guests.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, or eligibility to take the registry with one year grace period for new graduates from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology. Texas Department of Health (MRT) Certification or a temporary Certification (TMRT) is required. Must also have current Certified BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED) from the American Heart Association.

Summary:
As a member of the health care team, evaluates and treats patients with cognitive, communication and swallowing deficits within the scope of a licensed Speech/Language Pathologist. Collaborates with other hospital personnel to ensure quality care for the patient. Supervises the activities of Therapy Technicians, Speech/Language Pathology Clinical Fellows, and Speech/Language Pathology Students.

- Able to independently design a treatment plan that address' identified problems, deficits and discharge needs and assist with reducing LOS
- Consistently delivers effective treatment focused on rehab of communication, cognition and/or swallowing disorders
- Actively seeks out a diagnosis mx to facilitate ability to independently treat throughout the hospital
- Demonstrates skilled expertise when monitoring patients during treatment
- Able to apply reasoning and judgment to skilled observations and reports adverse reactions to physician and/or nursing
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of speaking valve usage and contraindications
- Ensures patient safety
- Offers alternatives to physician when appropriate
- Actively seeks research-based treatments and applies to daily treatment
