We are hiring an Automation Technician to join our team. This technician will be responsible for HellermannTyton's specific automated and semi-automated equipment and extraction/placement robots. The main focus will be training on performing complete set-ups, adjustments, troubleshoot electro-mechanical issues, assisting with the repairs, and training on proper maintenance of all equipment.
What You Will Do (Essential Functions):
- Training to accurately perform changeovers and setups on all machines within all the HellermannTyton facilities within specifications of work orders, HellermannTyton and OSHA regulated safety procedures, and HellermannTyton quality guidelines.
- Adjusting Robot and automation pick points, timers, and settings
- Loading Star Robot programs after a mold change, or creating a new program if one does not exist.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to equipment when necessary or assigned to. Follow provided work instructions to ensure proper lubricants and inspections are done to satisfactory standards.
- Replacing and aligning vertical balance cylinders on Star Automation Robots
- Analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose, adjust, or repair electrical, pneumatic, or mechanical components on automated and semi-automated equipment.
- Use a company service laptop to adjust servo and actuator parameters, adjust inspection camera parameters, and calibrate metering equipment.
- Make adjustments, repairs, and maintenance on machines in a manner that complies with company safety and workmanship expectations.
- Minimize faults, alarms, and product scrap by proposing solutions or improvements to the equipment or manufacturing process through constructive thinking and collaborating with affected departments.
Success in this role will require:
- Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively and follow work instructions.
- Able to properly operate a forklift, scissor lift, overhead crane, and pallet hand jack.
- Safely use hand and power tools.
- Basic to advanced PC skills and knowledge.
- Able to visually inspect product and packaging quality according to HellermannTyton's quality standards while wearing approved safety eyewear.
- Willing to work daily overtime and weekend overtime as necessary to meet the needs of our customers.
What You Bring/Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; A technical or trade school associate degree or similar is preferred
- The ability to read, write, and perform basic math is required.
- Complete set of personal hand tools, with a toolbox or bag.
- Must have a valid driver's license, with an acceptable driving record, and be adequately insured
- Stand, walk, climb, kneel, and bend for up to 8 hours, or more on occasion.
- Good dexterity; some repairs or adjustments require loosening and tightening hardware in tight or hard-to-reach areas.

Summary:
This position requires the skills and ability to complete the painting and basic assembly of the variety of products manufactured by Rogers Group. They will be responsible for applying mills of paint to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces as well as complete basic assembly of products.

- Prepare surfaces for paint by removing rust, BBs, or any other surface imperfections.
- Places product on the paint line with proper hooks, eyelets and correct spacing to enhance the electrostatic process and assure the safe and proper travel of the product.
- Remove painted metal parts from overhead system and properly package to prevent chips.
- Examine finished surfaces to verify conformance to specifications, retouch if necessary.
- Weekly department maintenance including but not limited to vacuuming and wiping down equipment and work area.
- Assist in color changes under the direction of the Team Leader/Crew Leader.
- Assembly of basic/simple products: Z-legs, logos, sticker placement requirements, etc.
- Assist with assembly of more complex products under the direction of a Sr. Assembler.
- Record all labor and downtime pertaining to each work order and routing when assigned to the Assembly area.
- Confers with the Team Leader/Crew Leader on any problems regarding safety, quality, production, or inventory issues.

Under the general direction of a Production Supervisor, the Machinist position operates large CNC boring bar machines to produce parts to blueprint specification meeting production schedules and company standards for quality and quantity.
Essential Job Functions:
- Set-up and operate assigned classification machines to produce parts.
- Load tapes and edit CNC programs.

Your Challenge:
Quality Control & Inspection

- Validate compliance to inspection protocols and quality procedures
- Provides 2nd shift quality turnover status reports
Nonconformance & Corrective Action Management
- Generate Non-Conformance reports in SAP for discrepancies found during operations with accurate defect descriptions
- Work with, Engineers, and other personnel to assist in CAPA/RCCA to increase product improvement and lower QMS defects
- Support 2nd shift team members drive customer satisfaction through ensuring the consistent and repeatable on-time delivery of conforming finished goods per customer requirements
- Communicate and help resolve non-conforming quality related issues to the 2nd shift team
- Process non-conforming products and assist engineering in root cause analysis and corrective action
What you Bring:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience within Aerospace and Defense
- Experience performing visual inspection on different commodities including CCA's, PCB's, machined parts, Cables/Harnesses, electronic assemblies and component parts.
- Experience with electronic assemblies and interconnect systems
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering design drawings
- Experience performing detailed dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools
- Experience in using calibrated precision measurement tools
- Experience in working in an AS9100 quality system
- Experience in inspecting crimping, solder, conformal coating, staking and surface mount components
Preferred:
Current or Recent certifications or the ability to complete the following certifications
IPC-A-610H
J-STD-001
IPC-WHMA-A 620D
IPC-A-600K
AS9102 training/certification
ESD Training and awareness
- Experience with and understanding of AS9100/ISO9001 QMS requirements
- Proficient in SAP 4 Hana or ECC, and Microsoft products.
- Able to lift 30 lbs
- Technical experience/education is desired
