Role Overview

Overview:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), the applicant will be integral in managing urgent, high-stress situations, collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate and implement immediate treatment plans. The RN will provide compassionate, client-centered care during critical moments, engaging thoughtfully with both clients and families. Additional responsibilities include coordinating transitions of care in high-pressure environments and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, guidelines, and safety protocols.
Essential Duties:
- Provides clinical assessment and problem identification, crisis interventions, documents significant interactions, and maintains clinical charts and other reporting data.
- Provides prescribed medical treatment and personal care services for clients.

How you'll make an impact
Primarily focused on applying medical knowledge and research, in a legal setting, to advise in the review and analysis of medical malpractice claims. Collaborates with claims handling professionals and attorneys to identify and evaluate liability and causation issues to assist in the defense of healthcare provider defendants in medical malpractice litigation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough medical malpractice case reviews, including reviewing and analyzing medical records; Preparing detailed medical chronologies, summaries, and reports for use in legal proceedings; Participating in the review and/or preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests related to medical issues; Coordinating and communicating with opposing counsel and expert witnesses to gather necessary information and expert opinions; and Reviewing and analyzing medical literature, research studies, and industry standards to support legal arguments and strategies.
- Attends meetings, depositions, and trials to provide medical expertise and support to attorneys.
- Collaborates with the legal team to develop case strategies, conduct legal research, and assist in trial preparation.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent; Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Must have proficient knowledge of medical malpractice and personal injury law.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare regulations, and legal procedures.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex medical information and apply it to legal cases.
- Proficient in using medical research databases, electronic medical record systems, and legal research tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex medical concepts to claims handling professionals, attorneys and other team members.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal case management software. Strong Analytical and interpretive skills.
- Ability to create and complete comprehensive, accurate and constructive written reports.
Desired:
- Experience in a hospital or medical-legal setting preferable.
- Paralegal certification or equivalent legal education and experience is highly desirable.
- Prior experience working for a law firm, insurance company, third party claims administrator or in-house legal team assisting in the management and defense of medical malpractice litigation is strongly preferred.

Coordinates the assembly and submission of impactful and tailored grant reports for designated grants and individual donors

The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience5+ years of related work experience, including at least 5 years’ experience in nonprofit grant writing/fund development. Proficiency or experience using data and/or donor management platforms.Proven experience and recurring success with trends and approaches in fundraising, with specific experience in capital campaigns, individual giving, major gifts, or tracking/monitoring pledges. Excellent writing and editing skills, and the ability to demonstrate attention to detail. Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion. Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work professionally and effectively with a wide range of donors, stakeholders, funders, and community members.Valid Driver’s License with ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements.

Key responsibilities this position will perform include:
- Coordinates the Tissue Recovery Procurement Process including communication with hospitals and funeral homes, packaging, and shipping.
- Leads recovery team efforts of donated cadaveric human tissue including bone, skin, corneas, blood vessels, nerves, and heart valves.
- Serves as a resource and advisor to internal team members for completing recovery.
- Ensures clear communication with leadership and peers.
- Participates in the tissue recovery and donor restoration as appropriate.
- Maintains compliance with regulatory accreditation agencies and internal quality processes.
- Travel and on-call duties will be required.
- Other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have:

- Bachelor's degree preferred, CTBS/EBAA certification desired.
- 2+ years experience in the medical field.

What is an Organ Recovery Coordinator?
Using their nursing background, Organ Recovery Coordinators (ORCs) oversee the process of procuring the gift of organ donation. In collaboration with the clinical team, ORCs assess the compatibility of organs for recipients, and expedite the surgical and technical processes to package and transfer the organs for transplant quickly and safely. They work alongside hospital personnel and surgeons to facilitate the lifesaving gift of organ transplantation.

Key responsibilities this position will perform include:
- Evaluates patient suitability for organ donation by reviewing medical records and consultation with medical staff.
- Coordinates organ placement and allocation with transplant programs and surgeons.
- Coordinates and assists in the surgical recovery of organs and peri-operative management – including logistics such as arranging transportation, ensuring surgical packaging, and preparing lab specimens for shipment.
- Provides support to donor families and conducts medial/social history interviews.
- Updates donor information into electronic medical record.
- Other duties as assigned.
This position requires minimum availability of 15 days of call per month. Incentives are available for additional availability.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Two plus years prior experience in a critical care setting.
- Ability to exercise independent judgement and multitask.
- Exceptional teamwork, interpersonal, communication, and conflict management skills.
- Registered Nursing (RN) License
- Valid Driver’s License with the ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements
- The ability to creatively approach marketing and outreach.
- This role requires flexibility, including availability for day and night shifts, weekends, and some holidays, based on organizational needs. Coordinators should be prepared to adjust their schedules to meet the demands of the role, ensuring 24/7 donor management and patient care.
