This opportunity is in Woodburn, Indiana in our BF Goodrich Tire Plant. Woodburn is a small town located about 30 mins east of Fort Wayne, IN. THE OPPORTUNITY

This engineer will be responsible for completing the Mechanical Engineering portion of projects in support of the Plant Capital execution, as well as Plant Technical support, enabling the plant to meet its Safey, Market, Productivity, and Quality goals. They will assist project teams with pre-studies of deployment and development projects in the M.E. field. They will also complete design studies, follow procurement and fabrication of equipment and lead the installation, commissioning and startup of the equipment in an industrial plant environment. For customer projects, manages the design studies for industrial equipment installations that are necessary for the success of the Plant's capital projects. She / he will ensure adherence to the customer's specifications, local regulations, compliance of performance, and costs.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Conduct feasibility studies of functional specifications; evaluate solutions against the criteria of cost, landmarks, risks, and functionality.
• Adhere to the quality system and established methods (risk analyses, FMEA, design reviews, quality planning, treatment of non-Conformities, etc.).
• Acquire validation of key project milestones during the installation, start-up and ramp-up of the equipment in collaboration with team members.
• Facilitate procurement, acceptance inspections, and maintain "as built" drawing packages for assigned material and equipment projects.
• Create budget estimates and bid packages on assigned projects.
• Provide project documentation: mechanical designs, technical offer, safety risk assessment, maintenance & operator training documents and user manuals.
• Lead mechanical contractors or maintenance installation teams during equipment modifications & machine installations through start-up and commissioning.

• Providing project support, especially during installation, start-up and ramp up phases, is often "on-site" and "hands on", and many projects include implementation schedules during holidays and shutdowns.
• Actively support the plant with designed solutions to improve Production, Quality, Maintainability, and Safety metrics.
• Design tooling for a critical part of the machines that make our high-quality products.

Description:

The saw operator is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and cutting of stainless steel and nickel alloys per customer specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Take primary responsibility for operation and maintenance of the bar saw machine to include Production, Quality, accuracy of Production Logs, and BT/Travelers/Programs.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance as needed.

This role will also contribute to routine R&D workflows, including method verification, troubleshooting, documentation, and data generation for continuous improvement and external deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

Kit QC & Functional Testing (Primary)

• Own and execute functional testing plans for commercial kit lots (incoming components, in-process, and final kit performance testing).
• Run routine QC assays, including (as applicable):
• qPCR/RT-qPCR (recovery, inhibition checks, linearity)
• TapeStation/Bioanalyzer (size profiles, integrity, yield QC)
• Fluorometric quantification (Qubit/PicoGreen/RiboGreen)

• IT Controls & Audit Collaboration: Assist with internal SOX IT controls audits and access control reviews across our technology stack, including in-house developed systems and third-party SaaS platforms.  You will work with engineering teams to verify that permissions are correct and ensure evidence is gathered efficiently. Actively participate in external IT audits, specifically focusing on validating and documenting controls related to access management, change control, and system operations for key systems that handle financial data. 
• Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BCDR): Assist the CISO in maintaining and testing the firm's Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans, including documentation updates, tabletop exercises, and coordination with Infrastructure and Operations teams to ensure recovery time objectives (RTOs) are achievable. 

Operational Support 

• Policy Development: Assist in drafting and maintaining information security policies and procedures. 
• Perform risk assessments and gap analyses for IT systems that handle PHI and financial data. 
• Automate and monitor controls through scheduled reviews, scripts, or tooling to reduce manual effort and improve coverage. 
• High-Touch Support: Experience directly supporting executives is valuable here; you will act as a bridge between the CISO and various business units, requiring professionalism and discretion. 

AI & Innovation 

• AI Governance: Support the CISO in defining the guardrails for Generative AI that balance innovation with risk (e.g., data leakage, appropriate use). 
• Applied AI/Automation: Utilize prompt engineering and automation tools to streamline governance workflows. If you can script it or prompt it to save time, we want you to build it. 

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience. While not required, preferred certifications include Security+, CISA, CRISC, or CISSP. 
• Experience: 2–4 years of experience in IT Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), IT Security Risk Management, Risk Audit, Data Privacy Investigation, Technology Risk, and/or Information Security (ideally with a background in Financial Services). 
• Security Framework Knowledge: Working familiarity with standard security frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001/27002, COBIT, SOC 2 type 2 and CIS controls, etc. 
• Analytical Skills: Experience reviewing IT solution requirements and implementing security controls. Strong analytical and risk assessment skills with the ability to design compensating controls for security vulnerabilities and assess business impact of security tools and policies. 
• General Technical Proficiency: Microsoft Office 365 and associated applications; Excel, Teams, Forms, PowerQuery, etc. 
• Growth Mindset: You are resilient and don't get discouraged by manual processes; you look for ways to optimize them. 
• Communication: Excellent written communication is non-negotiable. You must be able to explain complex technical risks to non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely. 
• AI Familiarity: Demonstrated interest or experience with LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot). Experience with prompt engineering or Python scripting for automation is highly valued. 
• Curiosity: You read about LLM risks, changing regulations or new breaches for fun. You are technically apt enough to converse with engineers but focused on governance. You never have enough knowledge about the business or systems you help oversee.

Compensation:

Your responsibilities

• Support design engineers with development activities, including component evaluation, prototype assembly, and product verification testing.

• Execute product and prototype testing in accordance with approved test specifications, standards, and procedures; analyze results to confirm compliance with performance requirements.

• Prepare, review, and maintain accurate and complete test reports, data records, and documentation.

• Perform safety and EMC certification testing in accordance with UL, CSA, and IEC standards and generate formal reports for submission to third-party certification agencies.

• Travel to external accredited test facilities, both domestic and international, as required to support certification activities.

• Design, build, and maintain test setups and fixtures, including mechanical construction and electrical wiring, based on engineering specifications.
