Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure all vendors and carriers comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations including DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and insurance requirements.
  • Oversee vendor and carrier onboarding processes including background checks, insurance verification, licensing, and safety documentation.
  • Implement a carrier risk management model to identify high-risk vendors or carriers and enforce remediation plans or removal when necessary.
  • Partner with Safety and Legal teams to manage claims, incident investigations, and carrier corrective action plans.
  • Support regulatory audits, inspections, and compliance reviews related to third-party vendors and carriers.


Capacity Planning & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Operations and Customer Service teams to forecast freight demand and align carrier capacity accordingly.
  • Work closely with Customer Solutions and Operations to match carriers with customer requirements including special handling, temperature-controlled shipments, high-value freight, and time-sensitive deliveries.
  • Support Sales teams with carrier network insights during customer onboarding, pricing development, and logistics solution design.
  • Lead weekly cross-functional reviews to evaluate capacity planning, carrier performance, and cost-to-serve analysis.
  • Develop and track KPIs for carrier and vendor performance including:
  • On-time pickup and delivery

Reporting & Technology Enablement

About the Role

Copper Compression is seeking a Supply & Demand Planner to own end-to-end inventory planning, purchasing, and replenishment across all sales channels. This role is the operational backbone of our business—responsible for ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time across Amazon, Walmart, CVS, and other Food, Drug, and Mass channels, as well as our DTC channel.

This is a high-trust, high-autonomy position. You will work directly with the President, VP of Digital Commerce, VP of Wholesale Sales, and our Controller. Key Responsibilities

Demand Planning & Forecasting

• Build, maintain, and continuously refine demand forecasts by SKU across all channels, incorporating historical sales data, promotional calendars, seasonal trends, and retailer-specific inputs.

• Develop channel-specific demand plans for Amazon (US FBA), Walmart (replenishment), CVS, Menards, off-price (TJX/Marshalls), Wegmans, Harris Teeter, and Publix.

• Partner with Sales and Marketing to integrate new product launches, promotional events, and retailer commitments into the demand plan.

• Proactively flag demand signals, risks, and variances—surface issues before they become problems.

Supply Planning & Purchasing

• Navigate Amazon’s restock limits, storage fees, and policy changes (e.g., barcode/commingling requirements, MCF shipments).

• Work closely with the VP of Digital Commerce on FBA operational execution and troubleshooting.

Multi-Channel Inventory Management

• Maintain a consolidated inventory position across all channels and warehouse locations.

• Allocate inventory strategically based on channel priority, margin profile, and retailer fill-rate requirements.

• Manage retailer-specific replenishment programs (EDI, vendor portals, manual PO workflows).

Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Deliver daily/weekly sales and inventory reports to leadership, organized by channel and product category.

• 5+ years in supply/demand planning, inventory management, or purchasing for a multi-channel consumer products business.

• Deep Amazon FBA expertise: hands-on experience with FBA inbound workflows, restock limits, IPI management, shipment plans, and Seller Central operations.

• Multi-channel retail experience: proven track record managing inventory and replenishment for national retailers (grocery, mass, drug, off-price).

Established in 1926, Mutual Trading Co., Inc. was originally a small co-op organization for centralized purchasing of basic import foods to service the needs of the early Japanese immigrant society in Southern California. Essential Job Functions

  • Travels domestically and internationally to visits customers and potential customers to educate them on Japanese liquors including sake, shochu, wine, other liquors; provides information and necessary support to reach sales targets and increase the sales of the Company’s liquor products
  • Supports sales associates across all sales divisions to achieve the monthly sales targets assigned by Sake Specialist Director
  • Designs sales and marketing plans with sales teams to develop new accounts and achieve quarterly new account development targets
  • Supports category manager to develop strategies to improve market share in all product lines
  • Maintains high levels of customer satisfaction by providing excellent service and building report
  • Works closely with Sales Associates to understand their needs, and offers solution by educating their clients on how our liquor products and services can benefit their business
  • Attends various Japanese Government promotional events
  • Works closely with management and sales teams to prepare new account development plan, market/competitor analysis, sales performance and other analysis reports as required
  • Plans, coordinates and attends sake, shochu, beer, and whiskey related events
  • Attends Company events and functions outside of normal working hours
  • Coordinates with Tokyo Mutual Trading and vendors to organize tasting events
  • Create Social Media contents and maintain quality contents and strong engagements
  • Participates in the weekly sales meetings
  • Assists with Sake School events, classes and competition tasting
  • Attends semiannual inventory count on designated day, possibly on a weekend
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


Physical Requirements

  • Able to go on domestic and international business trip by car and airplane
  • Able to work without sitting for extended periods of time, including standing and walking
  • Able to reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
  • Able to use the phone for extended periods of time

Other Requirements

  • Business level English required – Read/write/speak/listen
  • Business level Japanese or Chinese highly preferred
  • Has and maintains a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Maintains a positive attitude
  • Able to work independently and as a team
  • Able to adapt to frequent changes in assignments and workload
  • Sake sommelier certificate or equivalent preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree and above preferred
  • 4+ years of Japanese liquor including wine, sake, shochu, and spirits sales experience and sake advisor license are preferred; however extensive experience in Japanese food sales or restaurant business will be considered


Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrates basic Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Possesses basic mathematical knowledge such as markups, discounts, counting inventory, weight and measurement conversions, combining, etc.
  • Has strong communications and interpersonal skills
  • Has strong customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Certification from a sake institute preferred
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, especially AS400 or Microsoft Dynamics 365 highly preferred
  • Knowledge of Japanese liquor including wine, sake, shochu, and spirits preferred
