Minimum Qualifications / Requirements Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the relevant state Bar.
Minimum of 7 years of post-bar experience practicing family law — with a substantial portion of that time devoted to matrimonial, divorce, and family-law litigation.
Proven trial experience in contested divorce or family law matters (must have handled at least one divorce trial from start to finish).
Strong ability to manage a heavy caseload (30–40 matters) while maintaining high standards of client service and legal acumen.
Demonstrated experience handling high-stakes family law cases, including complex asset division, spousal support, custody disputes, and related issues.
Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, emotional maturity, and ability to counsel clients through difficult and sensitive situations.

Our client is seeking a Matrimonial Associate Attorney with family law experience to join their growing practice. This position is ideal for a compassionate, detail‑oriented attorney who is comfortable handling sensitive matters and working closely with clients.

What You’ll Do
- Provide legal advice to clients in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, and domestic violence
- Conduct client consultations to assess legal issues and gather relevant information
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court hearings
- Prepare discovery requests and responses (interrogatories, subpoenas, document production)
- Draft settlement agreements and child custody arrangements
- Prepare Case Information Statements, including adept review of tax returns
- Attend hearings, trials, and conferences, advocating on behalf of clients
- Maintain accurate and organized case files and client communication and collaborate with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure timely and efficient case management
- Communicate regularly with clients to keep them informed about case progress and strategy
- Work with senior attorneys and legal teams to develop case strategies and achieve favorable outcomes
What We’re Looking For
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in New Jersey
- Minimum of 3–6 years of family law experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage a high caseload and work under pressure
