Duties and Responsibilities

As a BPA, you will be part of our 60,000+ workforce that strives to protect the American people by safeguarding our borders, deterring illicit activity, and enhancing the nation's economic prosperity. Being a BPA makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) profession.

Typical assignments include:

  • Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and custom laws and inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations
  • Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers of noncitizens at or near the borders by maintaining surveillance from covert positions to include using infrared scopes during night operations
  • Interpreting and following tracks, marks, and other physical evidence of illegal entry of persons or contraband
  • Performing farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, and transportation checks
  • Patrolling the international boundary and coastal waterways using a variety of government assets such as vehicles, horses, vessels, watercraft, off-road vehicles, ATVs, snowmobiles, and motorcycles for the accomplishment of the USBP Mission.

Qualifications

You qualify for the GL-5 grade level if you possess one of the following:

Experience: One (1) year of general work experience that demonstrates the ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and maintain composure in stressful situations; to learn regulations, methods, and techniques through classroom training and/or on-the-job instruction; and the ability to gather concise information through questioning, observation, and examination of documents and records; OR

Education Substitution: A bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; OR

Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of general work experience AND successfully completed college education. This will be calculated using your resume and official or unofficial transcripts submitted with your application.

You qualify for the GL-7 grade level if you possess one of the following:

Experience: One year of specialized work experience that shows you have the skills necessary to:

Practice Specifics:

* Our ideal candidate would be an easy going, patient-centered, physician leader that enjoys working with an existing, low-maintenance, highly relational team.
* OB for this position is optional
* Newer clinic with state-of-the-art technology, attached to Hospital
* Weekend clinic call is 1:8 (1:9 starting September 23). Weeknight call 1:8 (1:9 starting September 23)
* Multi-specialty group that consists of FP, IM, and NP/PA s - along with integrated Behavioral Health providing 4 Psychotherapists, 1 Behavioral Health NP, 1 Behavioral Health MD (via Telehealth) and an onsite Behavioral Health Adult Partial Hospitalization Program
* Over 20 outreach specialists including Ophthalmology, ENT, Audiology OBGYN, General Surgery, Weight Management, Diabetes, Nephrology, Rheumatology, Pulmonology, Pain Management, Orthopedic Med & Surg, Podiatry, Cardiology, Tobacco Cessation, Mediation Therapy Management, Gastroenterology, Vascular Surgery and Urology all on-site as well as others available at the main campus in Duluth
* Nurse-on-line triage 24/7
* EPIC (electronic medical records) in clinic and hospital
* Admit to a 25-bed CAH facility with transitional care services. ER physicians staff the ED, along with a PA who staffs the Fast Track ER. Transfers complex cases to the Medical Center, 330 bed facility (7 miles from clinic) with Level 1 Trauma designation
* Urgent Care staffed 7 days a week with NP/PA providers
* Physician led, professionally managed organization with great team environment

Seeking BE/BC Internal Medicine Physician achieve patient care objectives and to provide continuity of care for patients and families.

Details:

* Physician-led, professionally managed organization
* Clinic-only practice (possibility of working hospitalist shifts during the year, if desired)
* Flexible and adjustable hours to support work-life balance
* Friendly team environment of physicians and credentialed practitioners (IM/FM Team: 8 physicians, 8 APPs)
* 20+-bed CAH facility with transitional care services. EM physicians staff the ED. Transfer complex cases to Major Hospital, a 300+bed facility
* 24-hour Nurse Care line; RN nurse triage office support in the clinic
* Epic electronic medical records
* Supported by hospitalists and elder care team for long-term care facilities
* Shared call 1:8 (possibly 1:9) with an average phone call volume of 1-3 calls/night
* Average # of patients seen per day: 16
* Multi-specialty clinic includes: Family Medicine, Family Medicine with OB, Cancer and Cardiac Rehabilitation, Cardiology, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Gynecology, Liver Care, Kidney Care, Mental Health, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, and Sports Medicine, OT/PT/SLP, Pain Medicine, Pulmonology, Psychiatry (includes adult partial hospitalization program), Rheumatology, Substance Use Disorder, Urgent Care, Urology, Urologic Surgery, Vascular Medicine, Non-surgical Weight Loss, and many additional consult services.
