  • Management and direct supervision of work crews on-site including:
  • Assist in the mentoring and training field personnel.

  • Manage the overall safety of the project and ensure all personnel have resources to perform their work safely.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects over multiple locations


Duties/Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Understand contract terms, conditions, and scope of supply.
  • Manage and maintain professional relationships with client, direct reports, and Project Manager.
  • Ensure all required materials, equipment, and inspections occur to support the project schedule.
  • Responsible for site safety. Ensure the overall job site is safe for workers and visitors as well as manage compliance with established company safety policies.
  • Work with the project teams to budget, forecast, and manage field personnel as well as management of labor, equipment, materials, tools, and other cost considerations.
  • Prepare work plans and develop temporary facilities for the project.
  • Understand, review, and manage project plans, specifications, and manufacturer's data and execute project based upon said documentation.
  • Review construction documents for completeness and constructability.
  • Manage the overall project and 3-week look ahead schedules, including updating the master schedule on a weekly basis.
  • Work with the Project Engineer to generate RFI's (Requests for Information) as required to ensure completeness of the project documents and identifying and clarifying any discrepancies.
  • Review submittals for compliance with project manual and plans, manufacturer's recommendations and code, or other standards as applicable.
  • Work with the project team to manage the company’s quality control program for the project.
  • Conduct preconstruction planning.
  • Conduct on-site project meetings with subcontractors and construction trades lead personnel.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Travel when required for the job.
  • Per diem for 60 miles or more from office.


Knowledge Skills And Abilities:

  • Independent and self-motivated.
  • Understands and is willing to manage multiple projects at once as necessary. The role of the Superintendent is ultimately to assist the Field Division General Superintendent, Field Division Project Engineer, and Field Division Project Manager. These individuals have the responsibility and oversight of all projects being completed by the Field Division.
  • Ability to understand program objectives, performance goals and assess progress.
  • Ability to collaborate with all aspects of a construction organization and communicate with all levels of project hierarchies.
  • Technical understanding of a project scope and the ability to find solutions to potential deficiencies within a project scope.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to put a lift plan together
  • Understand Load charts and equipment capabilities.
  • Ability to read erection and fabrication drawings.
  • Understanding and knowledge in advance rigging/bull rigging.


Education and Experience:

  • At least 2-3 years’ field leadership in the industry.
  • Osha 10 minimum, Osha 30 preferred
  • Knowledgeable in Welding procedures and quality.


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to be on feet, navigate uneven walking surfaces, and climb stairs / ladders for long periods of time over a large footprint. Must be able to sit a desk at a computer station for extended periods. Willing/able to work multiple project work schedules.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at times.
  • Typical work schedule is 5-10hr days. Depending on job schedule with the possibility of 12hr days and weekend work.


Work Environment:

  • This position requires the successful candidate to work on the project site full time Monday – Friday, with weekend work as required to maintain schedule.

As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA) you will perform aviation-based law enforcement operations for the detection, prevention, interdiction, and apprehension of terrorists, terrorist weapons, and other contraband and persons from illegally entering or attacking the United States. Typical duties include:

  • Conducting air patrol, surveillance, and pursuit activities related to the interdiction of smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels.

Qualifications

Experience:You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized professional aviation experience performing duties such as:

  • Flying as a Pilot-in-Command or sole manipulator in an airplane and helicopter in all environments of flight, including night, poor weather, unfavorable terrain, low altitudes, or speed.
  • Evaluating information rapidly and making judicious decisions promptly during in-flight operations.

  • Dual Rated: Airplane (Single-engine land or multi-engine land) with instrument rating AND Rotorcraft Helicopter with instrument rating.
  • Airplane Rated: Airplane (Single-engine land or multi-engine land) with instrument.
  • Helicopter Rated: Rotorcraft Helicopter with instrument rating.

  • Support commercial organization with new product review of drawings and specifications to advise process capabilities and product/process risks.
  • Manage thermal process controls according to AMS 2772 and AMS 2750 including thermal uniformity survey (TUS), system accuracy test (SAT), and thermal instrument calibration (TIC).
  • Suggest documentation/process changes and improvement opportunities
  • General floor support with QA functions, in-process inspection, inspection equipment troubleshooting, product or process failures to find resolution
  • Review of new equipment (flare, age ovens, air gage) implementation and validation
  • Follow applicable Environment, Quality, and Safety documents, notify supervisor immediately if not correct
  • Communicate with internal and external personnel (on any matter relevant to your job function; to be able to perform you job successfully; whenever necessary; with anyone necessary; in any manner necessary (phone, e-mail, in person, by mail; etc.) as long as the communication does not violate Kaiser Aluminum’s Code of Conduct


What you will bring to the position:

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience labs and metallurgists.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive) and other PC based software programs.
  • Ability to professionally communicate to parties inside and outside the organization at all organizational levels with regards to technical issues facing the facility.
  • Ability to manage personnel from engineer to operator within department, and advise/coach personnel across the facility.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma concepts and product/process quality systems techniques.

What We’re Looking For:

If you are experienced in designing and optimizing communications solutions, particularly within VoIP, wireless, and cloud-based systems, and have a proven track record of collaborating with partners and customers, then you will be excited about the Principal Government Solutions Engineer opening with Iridium on our U.S. Government Team. What You’ll Do:

  • Work directly with government agencies, partners, and internal cross-functional teams to understand requirements, propose solutions, and ensure alignment with Iridium’s initiatives

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in the satellite or military communications industry
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues clearly and confidently, and recognize and adapt to different communication techniques
  • Comfortable speaking in front of audiences (small working groups and at industry conferences)
  • Can easily build meaningful relationships with others, including senior leadership outside of your own department, and is comfortable providing constructive feedback to your team members and management
  • Ability to support relationships and network internally and externally to facilitate business objectives
  • Be able to analyze a situation or problem, generate effective solutions, and see those solutions through to completion
  • Must possess the creativity and resourcefulness needed to make reliable decisions and determine methods on new assignments
