GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will provide the urology patient and their family with continuity of care. The APP will act as an integral part of the outpatient care team. The practitioner will also act as an educator and a liaison to other health care providers providing care across the care continuum. This position will be a part of a Provider Pod Care Team Model and will work collaboratively with assigned Urologists in the practice.
Expected work hours are Monday through Friday, 8am ? 5pm.
The anticipated start date for these positions is April 2026.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
General Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs complete evaluations on patients.
- Orders and interprets appropriate lab, x-ray and special studies.
- Establishes a working diagnosis based upon acquired data.
- Develops a treatment plan for urological conditions in accordance with current urology practice and in conjunction with the urologist.
- Implements therapeutic intervention.
- Provides appropriate follow-up care.
- Exercises judgment on conditions requiring consultation, referral or evaluation by the supervising urologist or other healthcare professionals.
- As part of the care team, sees post-operative patients on behalf of assigned Urologic surgeon. Collaborates with supervising surgeon on patient care as needed
Office Duties & Responsibilities:
- Sees follow-up patients and provides problem-oriented intervention for their urological conditions, assists in care, treatment and follow-up as needed.
- Performs and/or assists in office procedures, including transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) volume studies, urodynamics, cystoscopies, post-void residual (PVRs) evals, difficult catheterizations, post-op voiding trails and other necessary procedures.
- Orders and interprets lab, x-ray, special studies and clinical procedures and provides appropriate care and follow-up.
- Performs on-call duties for urology.
- Evaluates, screens and counsel patients on health maintenance and promotes utilization of community resources.
- Manages databases.
- Performs quality assurance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Rhode Island licensure as a Certified Registered Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner
- Minimum of 2 years acute or ambulatory care experience as Advanced Practice Provider required. Urology experience preferred.
- Current DEA licensure
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Desire to learn and work in Urology
- Interest in continuous learning and willingness to work across several Urologic subspecialties as needed.

The salary range for this role is $104,500 to $156,000 annually based on full time employment. Salary Range is defined as total cash compensation at target. Summary:
Under the supervision of a Registered Physician provides inpatient and ED consults outpatient clinic visits pre and post-operative management of patients assistance with procedures wound care and other patient care duties. Works in a collaborative team environment that supports the academic mission to train otolaryngology residents
Responsibilities:
Obtains and records detailed medical histories. Performs and records complete and detailed physical examinations. Records all pertinent patient information in the progress notes within the medical record.
Assists in the preparation of discharge summaries.
Initiates life saving measures in emergency situations until aid arrives.
Initiates patient orders for admission as directed by the physician and in accordance with the hospital procedure.
Assesses patient status participates in the development of patient care management plans through communication and collaboration with the Registered Nurses attending physicians residents and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
Works closely with the otolaryngology residents as part of the otolaryngology team to coordinate patient care needs day-to-day for patients.
Attends and participates in daily care rounds
Performs credentialed procedures as delineated by the medical staff credentialing requirements which may include:
?Flexible laryngoscopy and nasopharyngoscopy to assess the airway
?I&D's of head and neck abscesses intraoral
?I&D of Peritonsillar abscesses

?Control of epistaxis
?Removal of foreign body from the nose and ears
?Otowick placement for otitis externa
?Fine needle aspiration
?Tracheostomy changes/ care
Evaluates and cares for patients who present in the Emergency Room with otolaryngology problems.
Provides wound care including cleaning and debridement of wounds as well as dressing changes.
Enters orders as needed into electronic medical record.
Provides education for nursing staff as needed.
Provides patient education during the daily delivery of care and during pre- and post-operative settings.
Performs other related duties as required.
Other information:
BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelor?s Degree and two years of graduate study in an AMA approved Physician Assistant program.
Current registration as Physician Assistant in the State of Rhode Island.
An extremely high level of analytical ability in order to apply post-surgical training to the treatment of patients.
Good interpersonal skills in order to deal effectively with patients physicians and nursing personnel.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span with consideration of aging processes human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
EXPERIENCE:
Three months on-the-job training and experience to become familiar with job responsibilities and work routines.
