Mercy Hospital's 7M Medical Telemetry Unit cares for a diverse population of patients ranging from ages 18 to 100+ years old. This unit cares for patients who have peg tubes, foley catheters, central lines and tracheostomies, are post-heart catheterization, require wound care, have drug and alcohol addictions or have mental illnesses and are waiting for placement at a psychiatric facility. Minimal bedside procedures are done on this unit, but caregivers occasionally see fluid aspiration from joints and incision/drainage of small skin abscesses. As an RN on this team, you will assist your fellow caregivers in ensuring these patients feel comfortable, safe and supported while receiving or awaiting treatment.
