The ACHD Program Physician Director will provide clinical, administrative and strategic leadership for Akron Children's ACDH program by ensuring high – quality, guideline -directed care for adults with congenital heart disease, facilitates seamless transition from pediatric to adult services, and strengthens collaborative care pathways with adult cardiology, cardiac surgery, obstetrics, anesthesia, and other specialties.
The role combines direct patient care (inpatient and outpatient), program oversight, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and growth strategy aligned with institutional goals.

Our team includes 16 pediatric cardiologists, 7 advanced practice providers and 2 cardiothoracic surgeons who provide a complete spectrum of coordinated, compassionate, cardiac care to over 10,000 patients annually.
Services include advanced diagnostics, complex surgical procedures, an adult congenital heart disease program, a fetal imaging program and a cardiac MRI program.
Required Qualifications:
MD or DO degree
Board certification in Pediatric Cardiology and Adult Congenital Heart Disease
ACHD board eligibility or certification
Eligibility for medical licensure in the state
Demonstrated experience caring for adult congenital heart disease patients
Preferred Qualifications:
ACHD board certification
Experience in program building or leadership
Experience working across pediatric and adult healthcare systems
Academic interest in education, quality improvement, or clinical research
