Proper Hospitality is seeking an AI Workflow Fellow for a three month, execution focused program embedded with the CEO, President, and Chief of Staff. This role is responsible for building and deploying production ready AI workflows across our hotel portfolio, automating real operational processes tied to clear ROI, and integrating across systems including PMS, Snowflake, Microsoft 365, and guest experience platforms. This is hands on applied AI with live impact on property operations, not research or prototype work.
What This Is
We're not exploring AI at Proper Hotels. We're deploying it. Right now, AI runs our executive briefings, triages guest reviews across 11 properties, automates reporting pipelines, and handles operational workflows that used to eat hundreds of hours. We need someone who can build more of this, faster.
This is a single fellowship seat. You'll work directly with our CEO, President, Chief of Staff and executive team for three months and will be shipping production workflows from week one.
You are the execution engine inside Proper's broader Workflow & AI operating model.
What You'll Actually Do
Building (80%)
Build & Ship
- Design and deploy agent-based workflows that automate real operational tasks (not demos, not prototypes that sit on a shelf)
- Build within clearly defined ROI hypotheses approved by the Head of Workflow & AI (not speculative experiments)
- Wire together APIs across our stack: PMS, Snowflake, Notion, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Revinate, STR
- Build multi-agent systems that handle overnight operations, reporting rollups, task accountability, and guest experience triage
- Create tools that General Managers and department heads actually use daily
Identify & Automate
- Audit departmental workflows across the portfolio and find the manual processes burning the most hours
- Build the automation, test it on-property, iterate based on real feedback
- Transition tasks from \"someone does this by hand\" to \"this runs itself\" without losing the human touch that defines Proper
Strategy (20%)
Strategic Input
- Evaluate frontier capabilities weekly, but only deploy those that map to defined operational ROI
- Translate what's happening at the AI frontier into specific, actionable opportunities for luxury hospitality
- Help shape our internal AI skill-building program so the culture evolves with the technology
Who You Are
- You build agents and workflows, not just prompts. Show us something you've built that runs without you babysitting it
- You've shipped applied AI into production environments. Side projects count if they're real and running
- You can wire APIs together before lunch and present to the C-suite after it
- You navigate ambiguity without freezing. If a tool doesn't exist, you build it
- You understand that technology in a hotel should be invisible but felt. \"High Tech / High Touch\" isn't a slogan to you
- You're hands-on with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source), API orchestration, agent frameworks (eg. Openclaw), and data pipelines
- Bonus: experience with hospitality systems, revenue management, or guest experience platforms
Education
CS, Data Science, or MBA with a strong technical background preferred but not required. Non-traditional paths welcome if your portfolio speaks for itself
Program Details
- Duration: 3 months with potential to extend
- Experience: 0-2 years
- Compensation: $7,000 - $10,000/month depending on experience and location
- Access: Direct seat at the table with the CEO, President, and Chief of Staff
- Impact: Your work goes live on-property, affecting real guests and real revenue. This isn't a sandbox.
In your application please include two additional items:
- Something you've built that automates a real workflow (link, repo, or demo)
- A short note on what you'd build first if you had access to a luxury hotel portfolio's entire data stack

In Vivo Pharmacology (Senior Research Assistant - Senior Associate Scientist Level)
California Institute of Technology & Howard Hughes Medical Institute | Elowitz Lab
Full-time | Pasadena, CA (onsite) | 1-year term (renewable) | Start: March-April 2026 (flexible)
Our team in the Elowitz Lab at Caltech/HHMI is engineering therapeutic protein circuits, a new cancer-treatment modality at the intersection of synthetic biology and oncology. Weβre looking for an in vivo oncology scientist (Senior Research Assistant to Senior Associate Scientist) to help expand and run the programβs translational in vivo engine. The role starts in an academic setting, with the option to transition into an early-stage startup in 2027.
Why therapeutic circuits?
Cancer therapies face a fundamental trade-off between effectiveness and precision, driving off-target toxicity, recurrence, and resistance. Therapeutic protein circuits address this by directly rewiring oncogenic mutations to cell death. Delivered as mRNA in lipid nanoparticles, these engineered proteins can distinguish cancer from normal cells and have shown tumor suppression in vivo. By design, these circuits βsense and killβ rather than inhibit. This mechanism makes them independent of oncogene addiction and less susceptible to resistance than most targeted therapies, potentially enabling a new generation of highly potent and specific cancer medicines.
Why join us now?
Over the past decade, our team has built and de-risked the therapeutic circuit platform. As we move toward a spinout, this is a rare chance to join at the inflection point where cutting-edge research becomes an early commercial program. Youβll be part of a small, fast-moving, startup-minded team, helping build what could become a future cancer therapy.
What youβll do:
- Own and independently execute end-to-end in vivo oncology studies from tumor initiation through decision-grade analysis and reporting.
- Partner with the team to design studies and translate study plans into executable protocols.
- Execute and continuously refine a portfolio of in vivo models, including subcutaneous xenografts, orthotopic tumor models, and genetically induced models (including HTVi-initiated systems); establish and qualify new models.
- Perform hands-on mouse work, including tumor engraftment/initiation, dosing (IV, PO, IP, IT), monitoring, tumor measurements, necropsy, and tissue collection with rigorous documentation.
- Run longitudinal readouts such as IVIS bioluminescence imaging and blood sampling; perform terminal procedures, including terminal blood collection and perfusion.
- Lead downstream sample analysis workflows: process tissues for flow cytometry, IHC/IF, or spatial readouts (e.g., seqFISH) and coordinate tasks with the team.
- Conduct basic data and statistical analysis; build clear figures and concise summaries to inform study decisions and next steps.
- Support IACUC protocols and amendments; uphold high standards for animal welfare and EH&S compliance.
- Improve how we operate: upgrade our workflows/SOPs and support mentoring/training.
What qualifications are we looking for?
- Bachelorβs degree in life sciences (or related) with 4-8 years relevant in vivo experience, or Masterβs degree with 2-6 years relevant in vivo experience
- Strong hands-on in vivo experience, including mouse handling, HTVi, common dosing routes (IV, PO, IT), and endpoint procedures (necropsy, tissue collection).
- Demonstrated ability to build, own, and optimize workflows and SOPs.
- High rigor, strong documentation habits, and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with IACUC protocols and EH&S regulations; commitment to humane animal work.
- Proactive communicator; ownership mindset; collaborative teammate.
Nice to Haves:
- Experience across multiple tumor models (subcutaneous, orthotopic, genetically induced).
- Prior experience in an early-stage startup (

The rapid evolution of artificial intelligence is transforming every facet of the legal professionβfrom research and drafting to litigation strategy and client service. Law schools have a responsibility to prepare graduates for this reality by embedding AI technologies and literacy into the core of legal education. In addition, as courts, law firms, and corporate legal departments increasingly adopt AI-driven tools across a wide range of work product, client services, and internal operations, proficiency in and understanding of these technologies are essential for effective and ethical practice, competent legal advice, and legal leadership.
Southwestern is committed to equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in an AI-driven legal landscape and to equipping faculty with the capacity to train those students effectively. By providing strategic and thought leadership in integrating AI competency across the educational experience, the Vice Dean/Vice President will ensure that our academic programs remain workplace-relevant and at the forefront of innovation. This role will advance the institutionβs goals of fostering AI literacy and ethical AI use, and of preparing graduates to lead in a rapidly changing legal environment.
Because Southwestern anticipates that other technologies will emerge that also will impact legal education and law practice, we anticipate that this role will evolve as technology evolves.
Key Responsibilities (administrative β approx. 75%)
- Strategic leadership in academic AI: Work with the faculty and other senior law school leaders to develop and implement a long-term vision for AI and other legal technology across the curriculum, assessment, and student support. Maintain an evolving AI and technology strategy incorporating immediate, short-term, medium-term, and long-term plans. Stay curious about and maintain awareness of evolving AI technologies, uses, and potential applications in law schools and the legal profession, as well as legal and regulatory frameworks and ethical guidelines. Consider how the law school can continue to lead in areas of traditional strength, including entertainment law, public service/public interest law, and advocacy. Ensure the law schoolβs initiatives keep pace with industry developments and best practices.
- Curricular integration, AI literacy, and innovation: Collaborate with the faculty to integrate AI and other technology into the J.D. Learning Outcomes and existing courses and to design new courses and programs. Help train or secure training for faculty and students to ensure the desired level of AI and technology literacy and capacity to engage in AI and technology leadership in practice.
- Policy development and academic integrity: On a regular basis, work with the faculty and senior campus leaders to review and revise policies, guidance statements, and other statements of best practices implicated by or impacting the use of AI or other technology. Devise and implement approaches and guidelines for operationalizing AI tools and technology, including experiments and pilots.
- Faculty development and support: In collaboration with the IDEA Committee, organize workshops, tutorials, and individualized consultations to help faculty build AI literacy, experiment with AI-assisted teaching and research methods, learn about other technologies that might advance teaching, learning, and scholarship, and develop accessible materials.
- IT partnership and technology vetting: Collaborate with the law schoolβs CIO, IT department, Associate Dean for Assessment, and Institutional Effectiveness Office to identify, evaluate, and implement AI-related or other technology-related software and platforms that impact the academic mission. Help ensure that new tools align with educational objectives. Help develop and vet appropriate training for faculty and students. Monitor, track, and report on the usage, effectiveness, and Return on Investment. Collaborate to develop institutional AI-use policies to ensure data security and legal compliance.
- Data analytics and research: Work with the Institutional Effectiveness Office to collect and analyze data on student performance, satisfaction, and engagement in AI-integrated courses and initiatives, and AI practice-readiness. Lead or support grant proposals and research projects that examine the impact of AI and other technology on student learning, access to justice, and professional responsibility.
- Ethical and regulatory guidance: Monitor laws, legal ethics opinions and guidance, and regulatory developments relating to AI and related technology and issues. Work with the schoolβs General Counsel and CIO to ensure compliance.
- External relationships and programming: Serve as Southwesternβs liaison to external organizations regarding AI initiatives, and participate in conferences and other events. Investigate potential partnerships with other institutions of higher education, nonprofits, government institutions, and reputable technology companies. Participate in offering AI-related CLEs to alumni on an annual basis. Periodically present programming around AI and the Law, inviting AI and other relevant legal technology practitioners to update the Law School community on current and upcoming developments. Build partnerships for externships, clinics, and other programs that might benefit students and faculty. Engage alumni, practitioners, and judges through surveys, focus groups, an advisory board, or events.
- Institutional effectiveness and accreditation: Contribute to Southwesternβs accreditation efforts by documenting how AI initiatives support mission fulfillment, student achievement, and continuous improvement. Coordinate with the ABA, WSCUC, and other accrediting bodies on emerging standards for AI and other technology in legal education.
- Resource development and funding: Work with the President & Dean and the Institutional Advancement Office to research and pursue grant, foundation, and donor support for AI and other technology programming and initiatives.
