Job Description
Under the general direction of nursing leadership and with provider collaboration and guidance, the Registered Nurse utilizes evidence-based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act and policies and procedures of Hartford Healthcare Hospital Outpatient Departments (HODs) and Medical Group, in a variety of clinical settings. Job Summary:
- Provides direct patient care to behavioral health patients in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the facility.
Responsibilities:
- Performs initial and on-going bio-psychosocial assessments according to accepted standards of nursing practice. Develops a nursing plan of care consistent with the master treatment plan.
- Participates in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the age-related and problem-specific needs of each patient.

- Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel, consistent with their level of education and expertise in order to meet patients' needs and to maximize staff performance.

The Registered Nurse in the Centralized Monitoring Unit (CMU) plays a key role in supporting the safe and efficient monitoring of nearly 300 patientsβ cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic status. This is a non-direct care position, ideal for a clinically skilled RN with experience in telemetry who enjoys working in a fast-paced, technologically advanced environment.

Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Connecticut Department of Public Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required
- Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Associate's Degree required, Bachelor Degree preferred
- Experience in anΒ acute care psychiatric setting is preferred.
- Evidence of leadership ability. Must be able to both individually and as a team member successfully manage out of control patients using the methods outlined in the MOAB training.

Job Summary
The Cardiac Catheterization lab at Hartford Hospital is comprised of four suites, two monitoring rooms, two scrub areas, a supply room and a holding area. There are approximately 5,000 diagnostic cardiac caths performed per year and of these, 1,500 become interventions. Hartford Hospitalβs operating room provides 24-hour backup in the event that open-heart surgery is needed.
Care of patients undergoing a variety of Catheterization and Interventional procedures with conscious sedation/analgesia administration. Familiarity with IABP, cardiac drugs, and emergency care. Provides holistic, quality and cost-effective nursing care for patients/families and/or others for a patient population within a unit, service or other primary area of practice with an awareness of the episode of care. Our Nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient centered care model in a richly diverse work space. Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff. The registered nurse who through knowledge and ability uses the nursing process to develop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs of the patient and family.
Primary Responsibilities: Performing nursing support for a variety of complex catheterization and interventional procedures.

Qualifications - Externalβ’ Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred) with current CT license.
β’ 2-4 yearβs minimum experience in cardiology, with critical care highly preferred.
β’ Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology experience preferred.
β’ Must be collaborative and flexible, working in close team environment.
β’BLS from the American Heart Association required.
