This role demands a strong balance of technical depth and operational management. While you must possess expert-level proficiency in data engineering, specifically within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem and modern data platforms, we also need a leader who is experienced in analytics, data visualization, BI, and translating business needs into analytical solutions. You will be responsible for defining and executing an outcome-based Data & Analytics strategy, building and developing a global team of data engineers, BI developers, and data analysts, and ensuring the company has trusted, scalable, and decision-ready data at every level of the organization. The ideal candidate is a Fabric-certified or Fabric-trained leader, an exceptional communicator, and a proven people manager who can balance hands-on technical depth with strategic leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Management & Outcome-Based Delivery

• Tactical Roadmap: Develop and execute a multi-year roadmap that aligns data engineering, BI, and advanced insights with business priorities (e.g., inventory efficiency, margin protection, and growth).
• Process Standardization: Define what “good” looks like for data reliability, documentation, insight quality, and business impact
• Baseline Maturity: Shift the organization from ad-hoc reporting to repeatable, trusted, decision-ready data products
• Advance Automation: Assess the current-state landscape and define a clear path from foundational reporting to automated, predictive analytics.
• Executive Communication: Serve as the single point of accountability for all data and analytics capabilities, translating technical progress into business-relevant implications across the organization

Infrastructure Optimization & Fabric Engineering

• Systemic Optimization: Lead the audit and refinement of the existing Fabric environment (Lakehouse, Pipelines, Notebooks) to improve overall performance, stability, and refresh reliability
• Engineering Standards: Set the "gold standard" for architecture, data modeling, testing, and deployment (CI/CD), ensuring the stack is hardened for enterprise-scale growth
• Reduce Manual Effort: Minimize operational risk by standardizing pipelines, refresh processes, and metric calculations
• Automation & Reliability: Systematically identify and eliminate manual reporting and spreadsheet-based workflows through robust automation in PySpark and Fabric
• Proactive Governance: Establish monitoring, alerting, and exception-handling processes to manage data quality and refresh failures before they impact the business

Analytics & Decision Enablement

• High-Quality BI Delivery: Oversee the design and delivery of visually appealing Power BI dashboards that simplify complexity and adhere to our design-led brand standards
• Metric Governance: Ensure KPI definitions and reporting logic are consistent across the company, acting as the arbiter of "the truth" for business metrics
• Advanced Analytics: Identify and operationalize high-value use cases for predictive analytics (e.g., demand forecasting, product lifecycle analysis) as platform maturity increases
• Business Translation: Partner with business leaders to translate business requirements into scalable, intuitive, impactful analytics solutions
• Business Evolution: Lead the transition from descriptive and diagnostic reporting to forward-looking insights that support planning and decision-making

Global Team Leadership & Talent Development

• People Leadership: Directly lead and develop a 3–5 person global team (primarily based in India), establishing clear roles, accountability, and a high-performance culture
• Skill Development: Create career paths and skill-development plans for engineers and analysts to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery
• Operating Model: Build a scalable offshore capability that delivers at speed while maintaining rigorous standards for code quality and documentation

Skills & Minimum Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or BI, with director-level scope or equivalent ownership
• Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Pipelines, Notebooks, semantic models)
• Fabric certification or formal Fabric training strongly preferred
• Strong experience with PySpark and Spark-based transformations
• Strong understanding of Azure data services and modern data architectures

• Program, set up, and operate Haas and Okuma CNC milling machines using Mastercam
• Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T
• Machine custom fixtures, tooling, and production components to specified tolerances
• Collaborate with the Wire EDM process; utilize Makino Wire EDM support for fixture and tooling components as needed
• Coordinate the activities of technician in the pod by assigning tasks and ensuring adherence to production schedules.
• Inspect machinery for signs of wear, damage, or malfunction, and work with floor supervisor to generate appropriate corrective actions to address any issues identified.
• Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to pod technicians, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Have a strong understanding of G-Code and CAM to generate and modify when needed.
• Oversee the setup and operation of Mills and Vertical Saws to produce precision components according to engineering specifications.

• High School Graduate
• Minimum of 10+ years of CNC milling experience in a job shop environment
• Strong proficiency in Mastercam programming (2D and 3D)
• Extensive experience setting up and operating Haas and/or Okuma CNC mills preferred
• Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T
• Experience machining fixtures, tight-tolerance parts, and varying part specifications
• Strong attention to detail, quality, and process control
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple jobs concurrently

• Experience working in a high-mix, low-to-medium volume job shop
• Familiarity with Wire EDM processes, specifically Makino Wire EDM, for fixture and tooling support

• Forming and running harnesses, breaking out and terminating wiring to terminal points where wire routing and location of electrical units and accessories are established by jig board layouts

POSITION OVERVIEW

Viewpoint Systems is a Pensacola, Florida-based designer and manufacturer of rugged display and computing solutions for the U.S. military. Our products are deployed across ground vehicle, naval, and airborne platforms in some of the most demanding operational environments in the world.

The Junior Account Manager supports the Business Development Representative responsible for the Airborne Market Sector. This is an entry-level, account management-focused role designed to offload high-volume customer interaction tasks from the BD Representative, enabling him to concentrate on strategic business development, opportunity pursuit, and long-range pipeline growth.

The right candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day customer requests across the airborne portfolio, fielding inquiries, managing order status communications, facilitating technical support, processing administrative agreements, and supporting tradeshow and travel logistics, while ensuring that every customer interaction reflects the quality and professionalism that Viewpoint Systems is known for.

This position is intentionally structured as a career development role. Candidates who demonstrate strong performance, a command of Viewpoint's product portfolio, and an ability to build customer relationships will be well-positioned to advance into a Business Development Representative role, a higher-compensation position with direct responsibility for opportunity pursuit, pipeline ownership, and revenue generation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Management

• Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for assigned airborne sector customer accounts
• Receive, triage, and respond to incoming customer requests
• Proactively communicate open order status updates to customers, ensuring visibility into production, shipping, and delivery timelines
• Use company CRM system to create touchpoints and follow-up activities on all potential sales opportunities. Execute these activities according to schedule.
• Track all open customer requests through resolution, ensuring timely follow-up and closure

Technical Support Coordination

• Field incoming technical support requests from customers and route to the appropriate internal technical resource
• Communicate troubleshooting guidance and status updates to customers on behalf of the technical team
• Log and track all technical support cases to ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction
• Escalate complex or unresolved technical issues to the BD Representative or Engineering team as appropriate

Repair & Return Management

• Receive and process customer repair requests and Return Material Authorizations (RMAs)
• Coordinate with operations and repair personnel to track repair status and communicate timelines to customers
• Ensure customers are kept informed throughout the repair cycle from receipt through return shipment
• Maintain accurate records of repair activity within the CRM system

Contract & Administrative Document Processing

• Process and execute Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) in coordination with appropriate internal stakeholders
• Manage bailment agreement paperwork, ensuring accurate documentation, proper routing for signatures, and compliant record retention
• Complete and submit customer-required vendor forms, compliance certifications, supplier questionnaires, and other administrative documentation on behalf of Viewpoint Systems
• Maintain organized records of all executed agreements and customer-required documents

Tradeshow Support

• Research and complete company registration requirements for relevant defense industry tradeshows and conferences
• Coordinate equipment logistics for tradeshow participation, including shipping, tracking, and confirmation of receipt for display products and demonstration units
• Assist the BD Representative in preparing materials and coordinating pre-show activities
• Support on-site tradeshow execution as needed, consistent with travel requirements of the role

BD Representative Administrative Support

• Book travel for the BD Representative, including flights, hotels, and ground transportation in accordance with company travel policy
• Prepare and submit travel expense reports for the BD Representative, ensuring accurate documentation and timely processing
• Assist with the compilation and formatting of the weekly Business Development status report, aggregating CRM data, activity summaries, and pipeline updates

CRM & Pipeline Hygiene

• Maintain accurate and current records in the company CRM for all customer interactions, open requests, and account activity
• Assist the BD Representative in keeping opportunity records, contact data, and account histories up to date
• Generate routine account activity reports and status summaries as needed

Customer Relationship Support

• Build and maintain professional working relationships with customer procurement, logistics, and technical personnel at assigned accounts
• Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively communicate any concerns or emerging issues to the BD Representative
• Support the BD Representative in preparing for customer meetings, reviews, and briefings
• Represent Viewpoint Systems professionally in all written and verbal communications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Engineering Technology, or a related field required
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience will be considered

Experience

• 0-2 years of professional experience in account management, customer service, sales support, or a related field
• Prior internship or co-op experience in a defense, aerospace, manufacturing, or technical sales environment is a plus
• Experience working with a CRM platform (Zoho, Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) is preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to correspond professionally with military and government customers
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple open requests simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Customer-first mindset with a proactive, follow-through-oriented approach to problem solving
• Comfortable working in a technical product environment; ability to learn and communicate product specifications with guidance
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
