The Opportunity
In this role, you will support business objectives for two collaborative teams within the Family Dollar Compliance Department – Product Quality and Regulatory Compliance (focusing on CPSC and EPA requirements), and Sustainability (focusing on sustainability regulatory and reporting requirements). Through research, data analysis, process establishment, and program execution, you will help ensure that our products and business practices comply with all regulatory requirements and standards that pertain to these areas. You will champion the development of best practices and continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires extensive cross-functional collaboration including with the Sustainability, Merchandising, Finance, Store Operations, Supply Chain, Legal, and Private Brands/Sourcing teams, as well as suppliers and laboratory services partners.
In this role, you will report to the Manager, QA & Reg Compliance, who is responsible for product quality, CPSC program compliance, product reporting, and close collaboration with laboratory service partners and global sourcing. At the same time, you will support the Manager, Sustainability and Corporate Giving in driving compliance in product packaging compliance, environmental reporting, and other related areas.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance
- Review new and existing consumer product and environmental regulations and inform Company on anticipated regulatory changes to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Support state and federal regulatory reporting efforts across product areas to ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and standards.
- Provide accountability to vendors and third-party registration services to ensure proper and timely state and federal product registration of private-label pesticides.
- Collaborate with Product Quality and Regulatory Compliance Team to review and revise the Team’s policies, procedures, and other related documentation, as applicable.
- Support the management, tracking, and documentation of product recalls and withdrawals and assist in reviewing, documenting, and maintaining oversight of product complaints.
Sustainability
- Conduct research to stay informed and evaluate impacts of environmental regulation and sustainability requirements and trends.
- Support development of relevant sustainability-related policies and strategies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to lead the collection of sustainability related data from internal and external sources to enable tracking of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
- Collaborate across the value chain to enhance data collection on product extended producer responsibility (EPR) and post-consumer recycled (PCR) material content.
- Conduct data analysis to measure impact, identify trends, and support decision making on sustainability initiatives across the company.
- Develop and execute sustainability-focused projects as needed.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

The Retail Engineer - Store Operations’ primary responsibilities are to update and maintain our engineered labor standards platform. In addition, identify and analyze key metric data alongside current store operational processes to support workload simplification and new initiatives. Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Primary responsibilities listed in order of importance
- Compile and upkeep relevant datasets and information crucial to store operations such as Time Studies, Labor Standards, etc.

Position Summary:
- Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design products used on maintenance of way equipment for the railroad industry.

Education:
As a minimum require a Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field with at least 2-5 years of experience in the field of mobile hydraulic design. Experience to consist of relevant product design or development of hydraulic components or motion control systems.
Certified fluid power hydraulic specialist (CFHPS), NFPA (National Fluid Power Association) or other fluid power organizations certificate is preferred.
In addition to having the technical qualifications, a fluid power engineer must be a good team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills. The individual must be able to think practically and authoritatively, able to accommodate the company's deadlines, budget, and other resources to make informed decisions for their projects.

Upon graduation from college, the formal training process of becoming an officer in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion program is officially underway. For those pursuing a Naval Reactors Engineer position, the first step is Officer Development School (ODS) in Newport, RI - a 5-week course of instruction in Newport, RI, that provides a comprehensive and intense introduction to the responsibilities of being a Naval Officer.
Upon completion of ODS, newly commissioned Ensigns move on to receive initial training at Naval Reactors Headquarters in Washington, D.C. (9 weeks of instruction) and Nuclear Power Training Unit (2 weeks of instruction) that form the basis for more advanced academic work. Officers then attend Bettis Reactor Engineering School (BRES), a 6-month postgraduate-level education in nuclear engineering at Naval Nuclear Labs just outside Pittsburgh, PA. This is followed by approximately three weeks spent gaining a working background at one of the Navy's shipyards in either Newport News, VA, or Bremerton, WA.
Following the training pipeline, Naval Reactors Engineers are then assigned a Nuclear Engineer position with the group responsible for managing all technical aspects of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion program-reviewing, approving and confirming the design, operation and maintenance of nearly 100 nuclear reactors. Continuing education is required for the next six months as Engineers start in a junior role under a supervisor and rapidly advance to take on increasing responsibilities and complete their 5-year commitment.

Work Environment
As a Surface Warfare Officer, you will work at sea and on shore, in a variety of environments. Sea duty could place you aboard ships within the fleet. Shore duty may involve a tour of duty at the Pentagon, a student assignment at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA, or command and management positions at shore bases and stations around the world.
Training & Advancement
Those pursuing an Information Professional Officer position are required to attend Officer Candidate School (OCS) in Newport, RI.
Unless they have already been commissioned through the Naval Academy or ROTC, those pursuing a Surface Warfare Officer position are required to attend Officer Candidate School. Newly commissioned SWOs can expect an advanced training process that includes comprehensive training at sea and ashore.
Newly commissioned Surface Warfare Officers will be assigned to a surface ship, leading a team of Sailors responsible for a component of the ship - anything from electronics to weapons to engineering systems. In this setting, Officers are working toward full Surface Warfare qualification.
After completing these initial sea tours, Surface Warfare Officers may be selected to serve on high-level staffs, commands or strategic projects or they may be selected to work in recruitment. The ultimate goal for many: to one day command their own ship.

Qualifications

- Minimum of seven years’ experience and/or training in facilities maintenance or construction, vendor management or a combination thereof

McLean is looking for a Dredge Project Manager to join our growing Dredge Division team in Chesapeake, VA.
Dredge Project Managers have profit/loss and overall responsibility for each project they are assigned to, and work in tandem with Project Superintendents, Engineers and the Construction/Operations/Division Manager(s) to ensure projects are successfully completed safely, on time and on budget. They collaborate with field supervisors on a daily basis and act as the Company’s primary point of contact when communicating, negotiating or trouble-shooting contractual, commercial or technical issues with the Owner. DPMs also work closely with the Construction/Operations/Division Manager(s) to coordinate and develop the careers of field supervisors on their projects, as well as write and approve purchase orders and subcontracts, develop the budget, and regularly update cost and revenue projections for their projects. DPMs actively participate in means and methods, safety planning, project scheduling, and budgeting in the construction and pre-construction phases.

Understands the importance of maintaining horizontal and vertical control of underwater grades (dredge templates), pay verses non-pay quantities, the use of hydrographic surveys to monitor job progress and billings, and has the ability to read & review these surveys and bucket files to ensure efficiency of dredge operations.
Actively manages project personnel and the layout, function, and appearance of the project sites.
When not based in a field office, regularly visits jobsites of assigned projects to coordinate with field supervisors to optimize project operations and ensure projects are completed in conformance with contract requirements.
Possesses capability to read, review, and interpret procedures, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
Performs and is proficient in geometrical and mathematical calculations.

Education and/or Experience
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering Technology and 5 years of related experience. A combination of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Experience in dredging, heavy civil and marine construction, and cost estimating is highly valued.

Must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation to work and able to pass a physical. Must be able to pass a Homeland Security background check to qualify for a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).
