Duties and Responsibilities

As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA) you will perform aviation-based law enforcement operations for the detection, prevention, interdiction, and apprehension of terrorists, terrorist weapons, and other contraband and persons from illegally entering or attacking the United States. Typical duties include:

  • Conducting air patrol, surveillance, and pursuit activities related to the interdiction of smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels.

Qualifications

Experience:You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized professional aviation experience performing duties such as:

  • Flying as a Pilot-in-Command or sole manipulator in an airplane and helicopter in all environments of flight, including night, poor weather, unfavorable terrain, low altitudes, or speed.
  • Evaluating information rapidly and making judicious decisions promptly during in-flight operations.
  • Developing strategies and coordinating aircraft and ground assets.
  • Using information systems and databases to conduct information surveys, queries, update files and disseminate information.

Hiring Minimums:

Certification & Ratings: A current FAA Commercial or ATP Pilot Certification with one of the following ratings:

  • Dual Rated: Airplane (Single-engine land or multi-engine land) with instrument rating AND Rotorcraft Helicopter with instrument rating.
  • Airplane Rated: Airplane (Single-engine land or multi-engine land) with instrument.
  • Helicopter Rated: Rotorcraft Helicopter with instrument rating.
  • Equivalent military rating of the above at the time of application (eligibility based on military flight experience must provide official orders, forms or logbooks showing their status as a rated military pilot).

Flight Hours: Pilot Enter on Duty minimums are 1500 flight hours; (up to 500 hours can be waived, reducing the pilot enter on duty minimums to 1000 hours.

250 Pilot-in-Command hours; 75 Instrument hours; 75 Night hours (Flight Hour Waiver available, see Required Documents); and 100 Flight hours in the last 12 months This qualification requirement is currently being waived by OPM through August 5, 2025.

FAA Class 2 medical required for assessment dated within the last 12 calendar months; FAA Class 1, FAA Class 2 or Military medical flight clearance dated within the last 12 months qualifies to start the pre-employment process for the AIA position.

Apply at 750 hours total time: Applicants applying at 750 flight hours are required to obtain at least 1,000 flight hours (depending on the number of hours approved for a waiver) at their own expense before being able to attend the 3-part flight assessment. Applicants must still meet 250 Pilot-in-Command, 75 instrument, and 75-night hours (100 flight hours in the last 12 months. This qualification requirement is currently being waived by OPM through August 4, 2026)

UAS Flight Hours:Applicants may include UAS Predator A (MQ-1), Predator B (MQ-9) flight hours and Predator A (MQ-1), Predator B (MQ-9) or predator-based flight hours. These hours may be credited towards satisfying the ""Total flight time"" 1,500 flight hour requirement only. UAS hours do not count towards the 250 flight hours as a Pilot in Command, 75 flight hours Instrument, and 75 flight hours Night. Flight hour logbooks will be required at the time of your Flight Assessment for verification.

Citizenship: You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this position.

The driver qualification file includes: an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last 3 years.

Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMCSA Clearinghouse review.

β€’ Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background screening (to include criminal checks, past employment and education), the ability to pass a drug screen and physical as required by the Department of Transportation, and potential travel within a near geography for training are required This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Quality is responsible for the strategic leadership and execution of all Quality functions for the Godfrey and Hurricane brands. This role will provide the leadership to guide the manufacturing team in the development, maintenance, and improvement of all quality processes, systems, and proactive quality planning. To include: Final Inspection, In-Process Controls, Supplier Quality Assurance, Process/Systems Auditing and Discipline, Product Testing, and Finished Goods Audit. The Director partners with the Bennington Director of Quality to drive the Marine quality culture, partners with the Customer Experience team to address warranty and field-performance issues with cross-functional teams and implement robust improvements, manages Supplier Quality Engineering activities, and ensures that APQP/PPAP deliverables; DFMEAs, PFMEAs, DFM, DFA, and problem-solving methodologies are fully embedded across engineering, sourcing, ensure conformity to engineering and quality standards, and production, and measure and report quality performance as required.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Standardize Manufacturing Quality System and processes within the site, and across sites.
  • Establish Manufacturing Quality fundamentals and strengthen organizational capabilities.
  • Support corrective/preventative action initiatives and short-term containment of issues (CAR/CAPA).
  • Develop and ensure PFMEA/DFMEA and control plans are in place to achieve plans and priorities.
  • Drive standardization - CAPA, control plans, PPAP, and PFMEA / DFMEA, QMR, part traceability, routings, etc.
  • Lead Quality Management Reviews utilizing but not limited to Dashboards and Scorecards (KPIs / Metrics).
  • Identify and share best practices across Marine organization and other Polaris Bus.
  • Mentor problem solving teams to enhance problem solving competency (8D, A3, DMAIC, 5 Why, Ishikawa).
  • Provide Quality department leadership. Develops team by instilling a continuous improvement mindset and building proficiency in aspects of the Quality toolset.
  • Leads the Emerging Issue response and communication for plant related issues, to avoid customer impact and minimize production impact.
  • Develops process control procedures ensuring production of finished products meet quality specifications and standards.
  • Conducts research on product defects and recommends modifications to products or quality standards where warranted. Assures data is formulated into useable information and communicated to the management staff.
  • Reviews complaints or warranty claims received to determine where quality control emphasis should be placed at the plant to eliminate problems.
  • Establishes and manages departmental budget and assists in the development of long-range goals and objectives.


SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field, preferably engineering or quality.
  • 5-8 years previous manufacturing / quality assurance / engineering experience. Ideal candidate will have Marine or RV based quality system experience, automotive based experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years' previous supervisory/management experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of quality policies and procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge of quality related tools including, but not limited to SPC, GD&T, DFMEA, PFMEA, DFM, PPAP, APQP, CAPA, DOE, ISO, Quality Systems and measurement tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills. 8D / A3, Red X, and 6 Sigma experience preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and Dashboards and Scorecard (KPIs / Metrics) Reporting.
  • Requires excellent leadership skills for coaching technically based and cross-functional employees.
