POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides skilled direct patient care (dialysis) and monitoring of renal dialysis patients. Operates all renal dialysis equipment and recognizes changes in the renal patient's condition while on dialysis. Administers medications and accesses hemodialysis catheters for the patient care techs as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited school of vocational nursing is required. Two years' experience in health care delivery as an LVN is required. Two years' recent experience of dialysis is preferred.
LICENSURE
Current LVN licensure in the State of Texas is required. Must have a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card. Must maintain current CPR certification.

Follows NYS Standards for Professional Registered Nurse. Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
At least two years experience in Medical-Surgical Nursing, Community Health, Hospice or Oncology nursing preferred.
New York State RN licensure, NYS valid drivers license preferred.
Will sit for the national board certification CHPN within one year of hire.

- Plan implement and evaluate nursing care for assigned resident

EDUCATION
BSN is required. Recent patient care experience in transplant or at least one year of experience as a registered nurse is required. National certification in transplant is preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas. Must maintain current AHA BLS or higher. ACLS preferred.

Our 2 General is a 24-bed unit that specializes in cardiac and nephrology care. Cardiac patients are post Cath or EP, CHF, chest pain, and drips. Care is also provided on this unit for our acute and chronic renal failure patients.

Supervises and coordinates care provided by LPNs and PCAs.
