Position Objective: JOIN A COMPANY WHERE YOUR WORK MAKES A DIFFERENCE. Sunbelt Modular is a wholesale manufacturer that provides prefabricated buildings and structures to modular building dealers. We build schools, medical offices, data centers, and many other types of buildings. This role will work closely with the engineering group and will provide support to sales, estimating, and production teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in structural analysis and engineering design principles for both gravity and lateral systems with various building materials including wood and steel. The role provides structural engineering support and services to multiple modular manufacturing facilities around the United States. This position is remote with minimal travel required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide assistance to the engineering team (or individually) to move a project through the structural design phase
- Provide a complete structural calculations package for the entire design of modular units both individually and as a multi-unit complex for the state submission of each project
- Structural calculations are to include a comprehensive design of the modular unit for both the gravity and lateral systems
- Gravity designs consist of roof framing members, bearing walls, continuous span multi-layer plywood beams, structural steel clean-span trusses, engineered posts, built-up posts, HSS structural steel posts, floor joists, and wide flange structural steel chassis members
- Lateral design consists of roof and floor diaphragm sheathing, exterior wall shearwalls, interior wall shearwalls, and structural steel portal frames
- Ability to complete ‘special interest’ projects from start to finish including multi-story modular unit complexes, shipping container conversion projects, and others

Qualifications and Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited university
- Licensed professional civil/structural engineer – preference given to candidates actively licensed in Alaska, California, and Hawaii; ability to obtain additional state licensures quickly
- Complete and current NCEES record holder
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a practicing P.E. (civil/structural)
- Experience in load development and correct application to the structure
- Experience developing structural calculations for gravity and lateral systems
- Experience reviewing drawings and developing structural details

SUMMARY
The Senior Structural Engineer oversees the day-to-day operations of the design engineering and detailing department. This role reports to the General Manager and is a blend of technical design and team leadership, responsible for managing a team of CAD/Revit detailers. You will serve as the technical bridge between design, plant production, and quality control to ensure structural integrity, manufacturability, and project profitability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
• Engineering Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of four CAD/Revit detailers; manage departmental workflows, project milestones, and deadlines.

GP Strategies Government Solutions has an immediate need for an Aircraft Structures Instructor to support a large aerospace client in St. Louis, MO. We are seeking candidates who are able to conduct training covering a broad range of structures subject matter including, but not limited to: Heavy Structures, Drill and Fill, Fastener Install and Removal, Bond and Ground and Sealing. This is a full-time, temporary position with an approximate end date of 12/31/25.
Job Summary:
- Conducts and performs training or solutions using the appropriate medium and method (classroom, computer-based training [CBT], distance learning, simulations, on-the-job [OJT], coaching, job-aids) to satisfy business needs and requirements.
- Assesses and tests the competence of employees in performing tasks requiring certification or qualification to comply with government and organizational standards and specifications.
- Expert in navigating technical documents related to manufacturing / repair documents and/or blueprints (detail, assembly or installation drawings).
- Confers with management/client to understand work situation.
- Delivers training sessions covering specified areas of technical specialty.
- Evaluates training programs and reports on trainee progress.
- Maintains training programs and materials.
- Prepare training areas to be teach ready
Qualifications:
- Education, training and prior aerospace experience in structures including but not limited to Heavy Structures, Drill and Fill, Fastener Install and Removal, Bond and Ground and Sealing preferred
- Presentation skills or training/teaching background/experience
- Ability to travel 10-15% if needed

POSITION SUMMARY: In this role, you will ensure accurate cost estimation for metal fabrication and manufacturing projects. This role involves evaluating project requirements, analyzing specifications, sourcing material costs, and collaborating with various departments to ensure that estimates align with the company’s financial goals and the scope of work. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing bids, cost analyses, and supporting project teams with cost-related inquiries throughout the project lifecycle.
ESSENTIAL DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cost Estimation: Develop accurate cost estimates for steel fabrication, manufacturing, and installation projects by assessing material quantities, labor costs, equipment needs, and other project-specific requirements.
- Project Analysis: Review blueprints, project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to determine project scope, requirements, and potential challenges.
- Material Sourcing: Identify and source the appropriate materials for each project, considering cost, quality, and delivery schedules.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and contractors to ensure accurate costs and maintain effective communication throughout the project.
- Bid Preparation: Prepare competitive bids for tender submissions by gathering all necessary cost data and ensuring adherence to client specifications and project timelines.
- Risk Assessment: Evaluate potential risks and contingencies that could impact the project’s budget and schedule and incorporate these into the final estimate.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate records of estimates, revisions, and project data for future reference and audits.
- Client Relations: Participate in meetings with clients to explain estimates, adjustments, and clarify any questions regarding the cost of the project.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to perform each essential duty daily.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (preferred). Experience in estimating structural/miscellaneous metals can be substituted.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in structural steel takeoffs and bid proposals.
- Apply manufacturing standards to determine shop and installation hours.
- Full-time, office based, occasional job site visits.
- Strong knowledge of materials, fabrication techniques, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in estimation software, i.e. Bluebeam, Tekla, Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
- Ability to analyze complex project data and propose solutions to cost challenges.
- Capable of managing multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Works well with a cross-functional team, providing valuable input to ensure project success.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Primarily works in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to temperature changes.
- Job site visits as needed will include outdoor environments and/or work from site trailers. Outdoor temperatures are unregulated, meaning depending on the season and location temperatures could be hot or cold in the immediate areas where work assignments must occur.
- Shop visits as needed will include industrial manufacturing environments with heavy machinery, forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such head protection, eye protection, and steel-toed footwear in designated areas.
