Role Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Supervisor to join our team. This individual will work directly under the Director of Manufacturing and oversee daily operations on the molding floor. The role requires someone highly structured, organized, detail-oriented, and capable of administrative oversight, in addition to managing employees, schedules, and training programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
AME leads new projects right from the inception of the program till manufacturing launch, which includes prototype part development, APQP, manufacturing process planning, FMEA, selection of equipment, tooling design, developing infrastructure, conducting trial production, installation of manufacturing cell, executing PPAP, proving Run Rate, monitoring initial production run, and sign off from production. Implement advanced manufacturing techniques in existing production processes to maximize throughput / OEE. Resolves issues with design, manufacturability, or build sequences.
- Develop new product process design, PFD, FMEA, and prepare manufacturing equipment proposals to execute project deliverables in coordination with the Cross Functional Team
- Develop and execute prototype plans as per customer requirements.
- Recommend new manufacturing equipment by identifying vendors, evaluating equipment capabilities, service history, and service support. Secure buy-off from the CFT team.
- Ensure that sourced equipment and tooling meet established standards and project requirements
- Lead pre-production activities in coordination with the production department
- Lead PPAP and Run Rate to meet project deliverables
- Inputs and configures BOM’s, routing and master data to the ERP system.
- Develop process drawings, manufacturing instructions, control plan and work instructions for new products, machining, welding, assembly fixtures, and tooling
- Develop financial evaluations of potential major capital investment projects and provide documentation of investment vs payback to the superior.
- Coordinate manufacturing changes for the approved Engineering Change Request
- Evaluate existing methods of operations, routings, processes, tooling, etc., and recommend and/or initiate changes or modifications to update and achieve optimum operating efficiencies and manufacturing economies.
- Develop and manage plant layouts, CAD drawings, and operational design concepts
- Install and conduct equipment capability and certifications with the help of maintenance
- Coordinate and conduct new project PDT meetings with the customer and supplier.
- Application of lean concepts and capacity planning
- Application of error-proofing techniques
- Periodic review of process capability studies and initiate action to reduce FMEA / RPN
- Identify and address safety and ergonomic issues, as identified.
- Keep regular communications, periodic meetings with program management on new program awards, and the status of awarded programs
- Support Sales on RFQs, cost estimation, and technical presentation to seek new business
- Do participate in corrective preventive actions for customer and internal complaints
- Must be able to take the production engineer role in case new project activities are completed
QUALIFICATION AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Associate Diploma or Degree in Industrial / Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering required
- Minimum of 4 years of actual on-the-job experience ( no internship or fresh graduates) in Engineering, product development, manufacturing in Automotive and/or Automotive Supply base
- Must have process experience in Machining, Welding (MIG, TIG), Robotic welding, Press Assembly, Fixture, Automation and cutting tools knowledge required
- Adequate knowledge of Problem-Solving methods, SPC and SQC tools required
- Auto CAD, Solid Works skill set
- Highly knowledgeable in APQP process, PPAP, PFMEA, PFD, Control Plan and WI
- Knowledge in GD&T and Lean manufacturing
- Knowledge in International Quality Management System - IATF 16949:2016/ISO 14001 /OHSAS and State Law in Industrial Regulations
- Proven ability in execution of project plans that have achieved the identified targets
- Understanding safety procedures and ability to work in a manufacturing environment
- Must be able to train, assist, lead, direct, instruct and discipline employees

Description
The Sr Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the technical development, oversight and improvement of manufacturing processes within the area of responsibility. This individual will lead process optimization, technical problem-solving, and cross-functional manufacturing initiatives. This role is accountable for achieving senior-level competence Plans and presents engineering program and product design reviews for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Develops and requests design and specification change releases. Assesses and communicates impact of engineering initiatives to functional groups. Essential Responsibilities
- Develop, release, and maintain detailed technical work instructions for the manufacture and repair of aerospace metallic structures and assemblies, ensuring full compliance with customer(s) engineering definition and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with CNC Programming group to develop and implement manufacturing plan for complex metallic machined components/assemblies.
- Provide advanced technical support to Quality and Operations teams to achieve site-level Safety, Cost, Quality, and Delivery (SCQD) objectives; act as a primary escalation point for complex manufacturing issues.
- Partner with Purchasing and Sales during the quoting process to define manufacturing approach, assess technical risk, establish labor standards, and ensure cost competitiveness.
- Establish and validate operational standard hours using time studies and process analysis; drive accuracy in routing and capacity planning assumptions.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and model-based definitions to ensure manufacturability; translate design requirements into controlled shop-floor documentation.
- Train and mentor operators and junior engineers on manufacturing methods, process controls, and quality standards; elevate overall technical capability of the team.
- Lead productivity and cost-reduction initiatives through Lean principles, waste elimination, and process optimization; quantify and report measurable performance improvements.
- Develop, validate, and industrialize manufacturing processes for new product introduction (NPI), ensuring processes meet defined capability, repeatability, and quality targets prior to production release.
- Evaluate nonconforming components and determine repair feasibility; develop and validate repair schemes in coordination with Engineering and Quality functions

Position Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or relevant technical discipline, or HS Diploma/GED w/equivalent composite/aerospace manufacturing/repair experience. 5+ years of technical experience with composites and/or aerospace components production or repair.
Desired Characteristics
- Demonstrated experience creating, structuring, and maintaining complex multi-level Bills of Material (BOMs) for aerospace assemblies, ensuring configuration control and production readiness.
- Proven experience in the developing and implementing machining strategies of large-scale metallic aerospace structures, including fixturing for both Milling and Turning.
- Hands-on experience machining large metallic aerospace components, including process planning, tooling strategy, and dimensional validation.
- Strong proficiency in engineering drawing interpretation, including advanced Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) application and tolerance analysis.
- Working knowledge of CAD systems such as CATIA, SolidWorks, NX; ability to interrogate models to support manufacturability and tooling design decisions.

Plans and designs manufacturing processes throughout the plant. This position maximizes efficiency by analyzing all aspects of manufacturing processes. Determines parts and tools needed to achieve product specifications and business objectives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Under general direction, performs the management of projects related to aerospace component engineering and manufacturing for new and existing parts and assemblies. Establishes manufacturing methods and process sequence necessary to complete parts. Creates models, operation sheets and work instructions using Solidworks software. Initiates Tool & Fixture design concepts and maintains close feedback with other shop floor personnel, management and related customers and vendors. Troubleshoots manufacturing problems and implements method and tool improvements. Writes rework and repair methods for non-conformances and prepares projects timelines. Participates in discussions with customers and suppliers as required. Performs additional duties as requested, including cost estimating.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Reads and interprets blueprints, symbols and geometric tolerances based on military and commercial specifications.
- Able to process complex assemblies and conceptualize developmental and production tooling in a job shop environment.
- Proficient with the following software applications: Solidworks (or equivalent), MS Project / Word / Excel.
- Able to create Solid models, operations sheets, Tool and Fixture designs.
- Familiarity with specifications and requirements for aerospace component manufacturing that includes having knowledge of aerospace coatings, heat treatment, and machining specifications.
- Strong math background including trigonometry and geometry.

Under general supervision, deburr, weld prep and/or clean titanium and aluminum components and sub-assemblies to support all core processes, such as machining, welding, and NDE.
