The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day performance of Ship Essential’s New York warehouse. This role leads the building with urgency, discipline, and a strong floor presence. This role reports to the Director of Warehouse Operations, who oversees both NY and LA. The Senior Operations Manager is the senior on-site leader in New York and owns execution, planning, and accountability for the building’s daily operating rhythm.

• Take primary ownership of daily warehouse performance, ensuring SLAs are met or exceeded every day.
• Oversee all aspects of daily operations, including inbound, outbound, inventory control, and exceptions, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with company goals.

Role Overview

The Warehouse Manager, Kansas City leads day-to-day operations at Foxx's KC facility to ensure efficient, accurate, and cost-effective fulfillment of customer orders. This role oversees receiving, storage, inventory control, order picking/packing, shipping, returns, and assembly activities while maintaining strong service levels and driving continuous improvement.

The Warehouse Manager is accountable for safety, productivity, inventory accuracy, and picking, packing, and shipping execution discipline across the KC warehouse team.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations & Fulfillment

• Lead daily warehouse execution: receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, returns, and assembly
• Ensure high order accuracy, on-time shipping, and consistent workflow throughout the facility
• Maintain clean, organized, and efficient warehouse layout (slotting, staging, flow paths, and storage strategy)

Inventory Control & Working Capital

• Own inventory accuracy through cycle counting, location control, and transaction discipline
• Reduce inventory variance, shrink, and aged inventory through tight process control and root-cause problem solving
• Partner with Procurement and Sales to support forecasting inputs, expedite priorities, and resolve shortages

Logistics & Cost Control

• Coordinate outbound shipping execution and carrier scheduling to support speed and cost targets
• Improve freight recovery, packaging standards, and shipment quality to reduce damage and rework
• Drive cost discipline across labor utilization, overtime, supplies, and warehouse overhead

Process, Systems & Continuous Improvement

• Establish and track KPIs for service, productivity, and inventory performance; use data to drive daily/weekly accountability

Team Leadership & Safety

• Lead, coach, and develop the KC warehouse team
• Set clear expectations, training standards, and performance accountability
• Maintain a strong safety culture, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement in workplace safety

Success Metrics

• Improved order accuracy and reduced credits/returns due to warehouse errors
• Increased on-time ship performance and faster cycle time from order release to ship
• Higher labor productivity and improved overtime control
• Improved inventory accuracy (cycle count results, reduced adjustments, fewer stockouts)

Qualifications

• 5+ years of warehouse leadership experience in distribution and/or light assembly environments
• Hands-on experience improving inventory accuracy, fulfillment performance, and productivity
• Strong understanding of warehouse systems/ERP and operational KPIs
• Solid analytical and financial discipline
• Proven ability to lead teams, enforce process discipline, and build a culture of ownership and safety

Warehouse Operations & Logistics Manager : Location: Joliet, IL

We’re looking for a high-ownership, entrepreneurial Warehouse Operations & Logistics Manager to run day-to-day warehouse and logistics operations for a growing company. This is not a desk job and not a corporate “middle manager” role.

You will own execution — people, process, inventory, and transportation — with clear KPIs, real authority to improve systems, and direct impact on profitability and customer satisfaction.

This role starts hands-on and execution-focused, and evolves as processes tighten and the operation matures — allowing more time for planning, analysis, optimization, and strategic cost control.

Key Responsibilities:

People & Leadership

• Lead, train, and hold warehouse associates accountable to clear standards
• Run daily huddles to align on priorities, volume, and performance targets
• Build a culture of ownership, safety, and continuous improvement
• Ensure labor compliance (breaks, lunches, scheduling)
• Identify skill gaps and implement training programs that reduce dependency on constant supervision

Warehouse Operations

• Oversee all warehouse functions: receiving, put-away, inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping
• Ensure accurate, on-time order fulfillment
• Perform and manage cycle counts; maintain high WMS accuracy
• Conduct regular quality audits on inbound and outbound orders
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility aligned with SOPs

Transportation, Logistics & Cost Control

• Own inbound and outbound transportation strategy, including domestic and ocean freight
• Manage carrier relationships across parcel, LTL, FTL, and ocean transportation
• Understand and manage all transportation-related costs and accessorials, including:
• Fuel surcharges
• Detention, demurrage, and port fees
• Accessorial charges and pass-through costs
• Create and maintain auditing processes to ensure freight invoices match contracted rates, quotes, and expected costs
• Bid out freight, select carriers, and negotiate cost-effective and reliable rates
• Create ASNs, loads, and BOLs; ensure compliance with customer routing and documentation requirements
• Actively identify transportation cost savings and eliminate billing variances
• Partner with purchasing and sales to align inventory flow, inbound timing, and outbound commitments

Continuous Improvement & Analysis

• Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements across warehouse and transportation
• Improve SOPs, layouts, workflows, and carrier performance
• Track KPIs, analyze trends, and report results transparently
• Build repeatable systems that reduce errors, cost leakage, and manual effort
• Treat the operation like a business within the business

Qualifications

• 3+ years of warehouse and/or logistics leadership experience
• Strong understanding of inventory control, WMS, and fulfillment operations

• Comfortable working hands-on in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with WMS systems (Katana preferred) and Microsoft Office

• Forklift / reach truck certification preferred or ability to obtain
