Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician III assists licensed pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy performing the duties described in the Technician II position description as well as serving as a role model for other technicians through added responsibilities, specialization in technician pharmacy practice, demonstrating leadership and initiative, and fulfilling the needs of the department.

Position Summary:Β
- The System Antimicrobial Stewardship β Infectious Diseases Pharmacist (ASP-ID) is a clinical pharmacy specialist and leader responsible for the development, implementation, and documentation of the antimicrobial stewardship program (ASP) across Rush University Health System (Rush). This includes providing multidisciplinary education on safe antimicrobial use, creating and implementing guidelines, collaborating with multidisciplinary clinicians, administrators, and support staff across the system, and analyzing metrics for antimicrobial utilization to satisfy new and existing CDC and Joint Commission standards. The ASP-ID pharmacist will be responsible for developing and coordinating innovative clinical pharmacy programs across RUSH sites conducting scholarly and research activities and interdisciplinary teaching. To support the effectiveness of ASP initiatives, the ASP-ID pharmacist will maintain on-site service coverage rounding with inpatient ID team(s). The ASP-ID pharmacist will serve as a key faculty member in postgraduate pharmacy training programs and affiliated colleges of pharmacy. This position will focus their efforts on ASP support at Rush Oak Park hospital and Rush Copley Medical Center.Β
Essential Clinical Duties and Responsibilities of the ASP-ID Pharmacist:Β
- Develops metrics for performance and maintenance of ASP.Β
- Participates in the provision of pharmaceutical patient care through ASP staffing and clinical rounds.Β
- Participates in restricted/protected antimicrobial approval.Β
- Participate in ASP coordinated education of healthcare professionals across RUSH sites and external partners.Β
- Serves as a liaison to other healthcare providers in the ASP. Coordinate the implementation of identified ASP initiatives while assisting with maintaining relevant required regulatory standards.Β
- Assists with the strategic implementation of Department of Pharmacy and RUSH quality initiatives.Β
