Summary

Waggle Golf is seeking an enthusiastic and sales-driven Store Manager at our Coralville, IA location. As a key leader on our retail team, you will oversee daily store operations, inspire and motivate sales associates, and ensure the store meets its sales goals. Beyond delivering an exceptional customer experience, your responsibilities will include managing operational tasks, maintaining a well-functioning and visually appealing store, and creating a positive environment for customers and team members alike. This position will report to the Regional Store Manager

Responsibilities

· Lead and inspire a team of retail associates to consistently deliver exceptional customer service, provide tailored coaching to enhance individual and team performance, and cultivate a collaborative and supportive work environment

· Provide excellent customer service while driving daily sales results through focused, hands-on selling as a leading sales associate.

· Monitor and drive sales performance by tracking sales goals, identifying opportunities, and presenting action plans to meet or exceed store goals.

· Manage store scheduling and staffing to maintain consistent coverage; anticipate turnover and future needs to ensure uninterrupted operations.

· Oversee day-to-day store operations, proactively coordinating maintenance and service needs, conducting regular safety and cleanliness checks, managing supplies to ensure the store is fully stocked, and maintaining an environment that is safe, organized and customer-ready at all times.

· Execute visual merchandising standards and support marketing efforts, including in-store promotions and customer activations

· Oversee inventory management, including stock replenishment, cycle counts, and loss prevention measures

· Enforce company policies, procedures, and operational standards while working collaboratively with management to implement operational improvements and efficiencies

· Stay attuned to your store’s customer base and local market by gathering feedback, monitoring buying patterns, and understanding the competitive landscape to inform store decisions and communicate insights to leadership that support business growth.

· Support off-site retail-focused activations on an as needed basis

· Ideate and execute engaging content for the store’s Instagram account that showcases the Waggle brand, our product offerings and highlights local community interests. Consult with the corporate team as needed to ensure adherence to brand standards and for access to relevant professional imagery

· Identify collaboration opportunities with local businesses and organizations to enhance brand awareness and boost sales, partnering with the Brand Experience team to bring these initiatives to life

· Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

· 2+ years of retail management and operations experience and 1 year in apparel or specialty retail

· Relevant experience working in a leadership position that you can be applied to this role

· Operates with a high level of autonomy, making day-to-day decisions and managing the store with minimal on-site supervision or physical oversight from senior leadership.

· Exceptional selling and customer service skills

· Ability to operate independently and work effectively under pressure

· Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

· Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and Microsoft Office products/tools

· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, with the ability to adapt to shifting schedules or operational needs

· Must be at least 18+ years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

· Passion for sports (golf is a bonus!)

· Sense of humor, team-player mentality and willingness to tackle new ideas head on

Other Relevant Criteria

· Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays and keep an agile work schedule to cover staffing issues when needed

Physical Requirements

· Able to stand and walk up to 8 hours per shift

· Able to lift 50 lbs on an occasional basis

· Able reach and pull product down from overhead shelves

· Comfortability using a ladder

Compensation: $25-$27/hour, depending on experience

Job Description

Uncommon High School Performing Arts Teachers foster a love for learning in every student. Our Performing Arts program is culturally-responsive, fast-paced, and fun—with plenty of acting, dancing, and singing in every lesson. Teachers cultivate communication skills and build student self-confidence by sharing their expertise in musical theater. We have built a community that encourages respect, hard work, and celebrates our students academic and nonacademic achievements.  Our performance based program goal is to train students to express their authentic unique selves with confidence.

Responsibilities

1. Instruction

• You'll create an environment where students feel empowered to express themselves through song, dance, and drama.
• You'll help build students' confidence by teaching them enunciation, projecting voices, and public speaking.
• You'll orchestrate culturally relevant in-class theatre activities. 
• You'll collaborate with fellow performing arts teachers to develop a network-wide curriculum. 

2. Producing

• You'll direct annual productions that enhance and reflect school culture.
• You'll review scripts annually.
• You'll create or order costumes, production sets, and props when needed.
• You'll craft production elements such as lights, sound, and set. 

3. School Culture and Daily School Activities

• You’ll build positive relationships with students to ensure they feel seen, loved, and heard. 
• You’ll partner with students’ families to ensure appropriate resources are available to support their child's learning needs.
• You'll engage in practice-based professional development, mentorship, and coaching sessions.  
• You’ll support morning arrival, lunch duty, student assemblies, class transitions, and after-school dismissal.

• Required Experience:
  • A minimum of 2 years of combined experience as a performer, producer, playwright, director, and/or technical support. 
  • Prior to the start of employment, you must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Certification is not required to be hired at Uncommon, but you do need to meet NY state certification eligibility requirements. To meet these requirements, you must enroll in a teacher preparation program and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher during your employment with us if you do not have a degree in education. Uncommon Schools teachers are required to become certified in the state of New York within a reasonable period after beginning employment.

Compensation

Compensation for this role is between SALARIED at $50,000 to $64,700/YEAR. Most candidates who meet job description requirements will receive an offer of $50,000 - $54,100. Please note these figures are for FULL TIME HOURS; the pay will be adjusted to reflect PART TIME HOURS.

Starting pay is determined using various factors including but not limited to relevant professional development, education certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools.
