You will own execution β€” people, process, inventory, and transportation β€” with clear KPIs, real authority to improve systems, and direct impact on profitability and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

People & Leadership

  • Lead, train, and hold warehouse associates accountable to clear standards
  • Run daily huddles to align on priorities, volume, and performance targets
  • Build a culture of ownership, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure labor compliance (breaks, lunches, scheduling)
  • Identify skill gaps and implement training programs that reduce dependency on constant supervision


Warehouse Operations

  • Oversee all warehouse functions: receiving, put-away, inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping
  • Ensure accurate, on-time order fulfillment
  • Perform and manage cycle counts; maintain high WMS accuracy
  • Conduct regular quality audits on inbound and outbound orders
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility aligned with SOPs


Transportation, Logistics & Cost Control

  • Own inbound and outbound transportation strategy, including domestic and ocean freight
  • Manage carrier relationships across parcel, LTL, FTL, and ocean transportation
  • Understand and manage all transportation-related costs and accessorials, including:
  • Fuel surcharges
  • Detention, demurrage, and port fees
  • Accessorial charges and pass-through costs
  • Create and maintain auditing processes to ensure freight invoices match contracted rates, quotes, and expected costs
  • Bid out freight, select carriers, and negotiate cost-effective and reliable rates
  • Create ASNs, loads, and BOLs; ensure compliance with customer routing and documentation requirements
  • Actively identify transportation cost savings and eliminate billing variances
  • Partner with purchasing and sales to align inventory flow, inbound timing, and outbound commitments


Continuous Improvement & Analysis

  • Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements across warehouse and transportation
  • Improve SOPs, layouts, workflows, and carrier performance
  • Track KPIs, analyze trends, and report results transparently
  • Build repeatable systems that reduce errors, cost leakage, and manual effort
  • Treat the operation like a business within the business

  • Comfortable working hands-on in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with WMS systems (Katana preferred) and Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • Forklift / reach truck certification preferred or ability to obtain

  • Perform daily audit of freight charges on all inbound and outbound freight bills from all Rite-Hite shipping locations. This will include calculating and assigning a pro-rated share of gross charges where applicable
  • Accurate and timely entry of job specific freight charges into Freight Pro-Rate in our ERP system
  • Reconcile discrepancies with carriers and/or internal customers as required.
  • Work through the Client Resolution Queue in the freight bill pay and audit portal
  • Maintain integrity of related data, including administrative duties to support department effectiveness
  • Provide accurate and timely freight quotations as requested through Salesforce
  • Assist with various logistics functions such as tracking, tracing, and expediting as well as providing supporting documentation on request

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide timely and accurate freight quotations to Arbon and Rite-Hite independent representatives
  • Manage and maintain the integrity of the Freight Pro-Rate process with the focus on a zero balance at each month end.
  • Perform daily audit of freight bills; both inbound and outbound, covering the previous days shipping and receiving activity at all Rite-Hite and vendor/partner facilities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate Pro-Rate data entry to meet post shipment invoicing demands.
  • Reconcile cost discrepancies with carriers and/or internal departments as appropriate. Perform audit related activities through freight bill pay and audit software daily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Certificate from an accredited institution OR 2 years Logistics/Transportation experience.
  • Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience with JD Edwards Enterprise One or similar ERP systems preferred
  • Experience operating in MyTranzAct or other freight bill pay and audit systems preferred

Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) preferred

Roles and Responsibilities

The Logistics Manager coordinates supply chain activities to enhance customer satisfaction and support sustainable profitable growth. This position collaborates with customers, other customer center functions, Regional Operations Managers, the Atlas Copco North American Service Center (NASC), the ACT! team (managing the SAP template), Distribution Centers, Production Companies, and Divisional HQ to achieve common local and global objectives, ensuring efficient, transparent, and resilient logistics processes.

Logistics

  • Collaborate with Regional Operations Managers to oversee warehouse processes across four regional warehouses, including designing processes for expediting unused parts returns, conducting data analysis for optimal inventory levels, and inventory reduction initiatives.
  • Oversee the process of updating the ERP system with accurate data to improve delivery date forecasts for customers and the sales team, accounting for variables such as transport times, shipping lanes, and port issues, in collaboration with the ACT! team.
  • Coordinate with the NASC for transportation operations (managing 90% of inbound and outbound shipments) and liaise with their trade compliance team to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Manage order management functions, including supporting all order entry teams (those reporting to business line managers and the order desk reporting directly to the Logistics Manager, which handles the majority of orders), to ensure timely and accurate customer deliveries.
  • Oversee logistics operations for regional branches and service contracts, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turnover, on-time delivery, return processing efficiency, and forecast accuracy; mitigate supply chain risks (e.g., port disruptions or supplier delays) through contingency planning and stakeholder collaboration.
