Job Description

The Cleaning Validation Engineer will demonstrate his/her knowledge of biologics manufacturing processes, including fermentation, purification, and bulk filling processes and work independently in a matrix team environment, influencing team decisions, and exercising sound judgement in determining compliant and robust validation approaches. He/she will have the ability to multi-task with a demonstrated track record in meeting deliverable timelines and must demonstrate the ability to think critically and analytically with acumen for troubleshooting and problem solving and is a strong team player aligned with company corporate values. Will have good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and has the ability to function effectively and independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. He/she is self-motivated and willing to tackle assignments and development opportunities outside of job scope as needed. Has the ability to interpret engineering and facility drawings such as facility layouts, blueprints, material/process flow diagrams, and equipment P&IDs. Is an expert with Microsoft Word / PowerPoint and Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and understands basic statistics, acceptance sampling, and is familiar with statistics software. Demonstrates hands on experience with facility/equipment/utility qualification, cleaning validation, process validation, and sterilization validation experience (steam sterilization and dry heat depyrogenation) in GMP environment and with CIP/SIP cycle development.



Responsibilities

  • Perform qualification of manufacturing equipment (liquid aseptic and aerosol aseptic), facility and utility systems (including CIP/SIP qualification), cleaning validation, computer system validation and process validation. Scope of responsibilities includes drafting of qualification protocols and summary reports, field execution, and data analysis
  • As needed coordinate and provide directions to contract personnel performing validation activities
  • Support the development and execution of FATs, SATs, DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ, and other relevant life cycle documents leveraged to support validation effort
  • Support the development and update of validation master plans, validation project plans, SOPs, risk assessments, user requirements, cleaning assessments, technical assessment reports
  • Support cleaning and sterilization (including CIP/SIP, manual cleaning, steam sterilization) development activities
  • Support periodic requalification and revalidation effort
  • Work independently and directly interface with personnel from multiple departments including Technical Development, Manufacturing, Engineering, Manufacturing Support, MAC, QC, and QA
  • Support gap assessment/closure, corrective actions, and compliance remediation related to Validation
  • As needed represent Validation as SME (Subject Matter Expert) during regulatory or customer inspections
  • As assigned mentor and manage fulltime validation engineers/specialist and contractors




Education And/or Experience

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science discipline, advanced degree is a plus
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant validation experience in regulated industry. The engineer is expected to be proficient in at least 3 of 7 validation core expertise
  • Expertise in the following areas is must: Facility/Equipment/Utility Qualification, Cleaning/Sterilization Cycle Development, Cleaning Validation, computer system validation and Process Validation
  • Familiar with applicable domestic and international GMP regulations impacting validation requirements (e.g. 21 CFR 210,211,701,710,720,740, 820)
  • Familiar with current industry guidance documents impacting validation best practices (e.g. FDA Process Validation guidance, ISO 13485, and applicable PDA Technical Reports)
  • Experience with customer and regulatory inspection
  • Strong understanding of quality risk management principles, including best practice in risk-based C&Q approach
  • Hands on validation experience in developing validation documentation and field execution
  • Project Management experience is a plus
  • Aerosol production experience is a plus

The Ride Control Hardware Engineer will report to the Ride Control Systems Engineering Executive.

This is a full time role.

What You Will Do:

* Support programmable, electrical, and electronic hardware scope to design and deliver control systems for complex, innovative ride systems
* Perform engineering design and analysis for ride systems, focusing on electrical control systems
* Develop control system and network architectures
* Design, model, and analyze electrical supply systems
* Research new products, technologies, and methodologies
* Lead a team of ride control engineers and collaborate with other professionals to develop ride control systems
* Develop control equipment requirements and specifications
* Develop and implement proof-of-concept mock-ups and prototypes
* Conduct hazard assessments and failure modes and effects analysis
* Manage vendors, contractors, and consultants developing and implementing ride control systems
* Define and oversee supplier and consultant design and delivery
* Ensure all delivery and performance requirements are satisfied
* Conduct factory acceptance tests and ride system installation

Required Qualifications & Skills

* 5+ years of Controls Experience
* Experienced in fail-safe and safety-related control system design
* Extensive knowledge of control processors, components, and communication networks
* Highly proficient in industrial control system installation, integration, and commissioning
* Solid understanding of communication protocols: TCP/IP, CAN, serial, ProfiNET, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT
* Extensive knowledge of electrical design standards and codes, including UL508a and NEC
* Familiarity with amusement and automation industry standards, including ASTM F2291
* Expertise in motor and motion control methods and components
* Ability to travel domestically and internationally for 1-week to 3-year durations
* Ability to handle multiple complex efforts simultaneously, coordinate team efforts, and manage tasks and priorities

* Licensed professional engineer
* Proficient with engineering design tools including AutoCAD, Matlab, Simulink, Solidworks, EPLAN

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) - Phantom Works organization is seeking an experienced Engineer to join the Signature Integrity Team in St. Louis, Missouri, as a Supportable Low Observable (SLO) Lead Engineer.

This role is critical for the development of tools and processes required to sustain stealth platform signature performance on advanced Air Dominance platforms.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership to a team of SLO engineers, ensuring the effective execution of SLO plans while maximizing operational availability and minimizing life cycle costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the SLO team in maximizing operational availability and minimizing life cycle costs of Boeing products with low observable design features.

  • Analyze customer and system requirements to develop architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various products.

  • Develop high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications.

  • Validate designs through various methods of review, testing, and analysis.

  • Implement supportability guidelines early in platform design.

  • Share SLO experience and methods across low observable programs.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 10+ years of experience working with Low Observable (LO) Engineering Processes.

  • 10+ years of work experience in Reliability & Maintainability, Product Support, or Materials & Processes Engineering.

Responsible for installing new equipment and associated work instructions; develop schedules, budgets and forecasts; selecting materials, equipment, project resources, and contractors to ensure all aspects of the design are reviewed technically and commercially for scope, safety, quality, and functionality with guidance and support from plant engineer or divisional engineering leaders. Typical project budgets range from $100k to $4M.



Your Day to Day:

  • Advise and influence business and plant management in potential application of new advances to existing plant facilities, design of new production facilities, and implement enhancements to systems and procedures.
  • Develop, guide, review, and present project feasibility documents and business cases that accurately identify project benefits, risks, and returns while driving projects to completion
  • Teamwork -- Embrace and support a team environment to promote good communication flow to and from employees at all levels of the organization. Collaborate with peers, operations, and maintenance departments to ensure an organized and continuous flow of project information.
  • Individuals will be responsible for continued process improvement for fiberglass manufacturing equipment. Initiate solutions to improve equipment operations through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Estimate costs of an approved project, resources and time required to complete. Identify optimal technical solutions to meet the cost/performance improvements defined in the business case.
  • Evaluates vendors in close cooperation with procurement to check cost/performance on the sourcing plan
  • Review Mechanical and/or Electrical Controls detail engineering for all project aspects
  • Ensure compliance with technical specifications and contracts for equipment and services for all aspects of projects
  • Coordinate, review, provide oversight and manage external engineering resources and consultants as needed
  • Develop supplier lists, bid evaluations, and make recommendations for purchasing
  • Design of safe processes and specification for equipment to ensure that ergonomics are considered in designs, and potential safety hazards are identified and eliminated during project execution

  • Collaborate with engineering and production personnel to investigate process problems to improve plant efficiencies and output.
  • Ensure that all safety policies and procedures are followed, driving a zero-incident project environment
  • Work with Engineering Leaders and Procurement to evaluate potential engineering firms and contractors
  • Maintain effective communication with management and project customers regarding project status, problems, and changes
  • Apply lean manufacturing concepts as they apply to design and project execution
  • Work proactively with process engineers, production, and maintenance departments to solve process and equipment issues, and to identify improvement opportunities based on team-based reviews with coworkers.
