We are seeking a Lead Industrial Engineer to develop and implement efficient production methods and process controls for new and existing assembly operations. In this hands-on role, you will monitor assembly processes, troubleshoot issues, and drive quality improvements. You will serve as a technical expert on various manufacturing projects, introducing new technologies and establishing sustainable processes for long-term production. Your mission will be to ensure profitability, efficiency, adaptability, responsiveness, and high quality across all products and processes through continuous improvement initiatives.

This position is part of the core team launching new manufacturing technologies at our production facility in Florence, KY. It is a fully on-site role, and relocation assistance is available for candidates who live more than 50 miles from the Florence area. The ideal candidate has experience in high-level assembly, testing, and integration of highly complex electronic hardware infrastructure. This is a senior individual contributor position, requiring someone who can collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced, high‑constraint environment to deliver data-driven process improvements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement procedures for complex hardware assemblies to validate system integrity and maintain compliance with industry standards and customer quality specifications.

  • This role is operationally focused, working closely with leads within Test Engineering and Quality Engineering to drive process test optimization, improvement and execution to plan.

  • Improve manufacturability, reduce cycle times, and enhance reliability of complex server rack assemblies.

  • Implement and optimize assembly processes to improve efficiency, reliability, safety, and sustainability.

  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks or inefficiencies in production and workflows to maximize FPY, throughput, and quality.

  • Support Business Development through assessing the needs of potential customers in conjunction with the Engineering Manager and Engineering Leads.

  • Design, configure, and monitor process performance during both manufacturing and operational phases, ensuring processes run within specified parameters.

  • Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including work instructions, flow charts, and control plans for all critical processes.

  • Implement process improvements to reduce energy consumption, minimize waste, and lower operational costs while maintaining quality standards.

  • Monitor key process parameters to ensure compliance with operational thresholds and promptly address deviations.

  • Analyze process data to identify trends, predict failures, and support preventive maintenance strategies for equipment and systems.

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive maintenance plan for all process-related equipment and assets, ensuring high uptime and reliability.

  • Conduct Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) analyses and risk assessments for all process steps to identify potential failure modes and quality improvement opportunities.

  • Own the full lifecycle of process equipment, including selection, commissioning, monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating servicing or upgrades as needed.

  • Support the commissioning and validation of new server rack systems and upgrades, ensuring they meet design specifications and integrate smoothly into production.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, design, quality, and maintenance) and utilize data-driven insights to drive continuous process improvements and implement changes that enhance overall production performance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related engineering discipline.

  • Experience : 8 years of transferrable experience in a process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or industrial engineering capacity within a manufacturing environment (with Bachelor's Degree) OR 6 years of transferrable experience in a process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or industrial engineering (with Master's Degree). Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.

  • Proven experience with complex system assembly in a manufacturing setting, ideally involving computer/server hardware or server rack infrastructure.

  • Proficiency with process control systems, instrumentation, and various sensor technologies used in monitoring and automation.

  • Demonstrated experience with DMAIC methodology, root cause analysis, and other continuous improvement tools/methodologies (Kaizen, 5-Why, FMEA).

  • Excellent analytical skills, with strong communication and technical writing abilities for documenting processes and reporting results.

  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders using data-driven insights to drive process changes and improvements.

  • Proven ability to excel in a highly constrained, fast-paced production environment while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.

  • Hands-on mindset and teamwork orientation, with a willingness to be on the factory floor engaging directly with equipment and processes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with assembly, testing, and integration of highly complex electronic hardware infrastructure.

  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling tools (SolidWorks) for designing fixtures, layouts, or process equipment modifications.

We are seeking a Business Process Optimization Lead to work in our Business Innovation and Transformation Services team, within the >tech_ Division of Wakefern to drive efficiency and continuous improvement across our organization. In this role, you will document and analyze current state processes, identify improvement opportunities using data-driven techniques, and collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement future state workflows, automation and agentic AI solutions. Your expertise in process enhancement, software implementation, and data analysis will be essential in optimizing operational performance and driving our business and technology transformation.


The Business Process Optimization Lead will work closely with our Transformation Projects to identify current state processes, define future state processes and ensure these processes are incorporated into Training and Change Management plans. This role will be responsible for building a center of excellence within the >tech_ division on process improvement driving efficiencies both within our Tech processes as well as across business processes. This center of excellence will include the implementation of Process Intelligence tools, improvement methodology and the rollout of adoption to the Wakefern Organization.


Essential Functions

  • Responsible for building out a center of excellence within the >tech_ division to standardize the documentation, analysis and improvement of processes, including the implementation of a Process Intelligence tool.
  • Understanding of IT processes to drive improvement and standardization across the division
  • Will work closely with project teams to document current and future state processes. Ability to document and facilitate process improvement.
  • Facilitate workshops with users through process improvement methodology including current state, analysis, future state and implementation of changes to process. Experience of modeling processes using frameworks such as BPMN 2.0.

  • Software Implementation Support – Ensure processes align with system implementations and changes to optimal business processes are incorporated in system implementations and process training.
  • Process Training & Change Management – Educate teams on new workflows and best practices to ensure smooth transitions. Works closely with the Organizational Change Management team within BITS to incorporate process improvement and education into the OCM Plans.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration – Communicate findings, lead discussions, and gain alignment from key business units.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT or related field required.
  • Must have at least 8-10 years of experience in a business process role, with a thorough understanding of business process methodologies and tools and strong business acumen with ability to analyze business processes across the organization.
  • Consulting experience with a large consulting firm in business process optimization and transformation a plus
  • Experience implementing Process Intelligence tools such as Nintex Promapp, Celonis, Signavio or Blueworks, including process mapping, data analysis and process mining.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (green belt or higher) or other process certification a plus.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties



  • Provide input to Product Development on new product designs to address Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) requirements.

  • Coordinate pilot production / pre-release manufacturing.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing and Manufacturing Engineering to release new processes and equipment into production.

  • Create and implement required documentation including but not limited to; equipment history files, manufacturing procedures, test methods, BOM's, routings, etc.

Minimum Requirements



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Position description

The University of California, Berkeley, is seeking a Project Processing Archivist for a two-year project, with the possibility of renewal for a third year based on performance and availability of funding, to support the processing of literary collections. Among the collections to be processed are those from a Mellon Foundation-funded project to process and promote archival collections relating to women and poetry at The Bancroft Library. These include the papers of poets Mary Fabili, Aya Tarlow, and Red Jordan Arobateau as well as the records of presses and literary magazines, such as Poetry Flash and the City Lights Books records. The project archivist will also process the analog and born-digital papers of author Amy Tan. The successful candidate employs archival standards, tools, and best practices to provide access to collections containing materials in a range of formats, including audiovisual and digital. The successful candidate also applies effective project management strategies and communicates clearly with project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

The Project Processing Archivist will work under the direction of the Head of Archival Processing and in consultation with other technical services staff, curators, public services staff and, potentially, donors and researchers. Duties will include processing approximately 450 linear feet of literary archival collections and related born-digital materials. The Project Processing Archivist will also participate in outreach activities relating to the project as well as regular departmental activities. Responsibilities include:




  • Archival processing of analog, born-digital, and hybrid archival collections
  • Applying tools used in the special collections and archival communities (e.g., ArchivesSpace, OCLC, Alma, TreeSize, and ePADD)
  • Contributing to project management, which might include helping to manage project documentation, supporting meetings, and contributing to problem-solving and analysis.
  • Overseeing the work of student library employees as needed
  • Consulting and collaborating, as needed, with staff in other Bancroft and UC Berkeley Library units to ensure appropriate processing of varying formats
  • Assisting in planning a public research symposium related to the processed collections supported by the Mellon Foundation grant.
  • Preparing social media and blog posts and a research guide related to the processed collections.
  • Serving a regular weekly two-hour shift on a public services desk

The Processing Supervisor will be responsible for maximizing productivity and achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by managing and directing processing employees on assigned shifts. Key duties will include planning and overseeing daily tasks, resolving operational roadblocks and employee concerns, and strictly enforcing all safety and quality protocols, OSHA regulations, and company policies. This position will drive operational excellence by adhering to Continuous Improvement (CI) processes and the Management Operating Structure (MOS), requiring collaboration with other departments. The role will report to the Processing Manager.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Provide direction, leadership, and development for direct reports, including training, coaching, performance management, and handling employee relations issues.

The Utilities and Processing Manager is responsible for leading the performance, reliability, and compliance of all plant utility, environmental, and milk processing systems. This role oversees cross-functional maintenance teams, drives energy-efficiency and sustainability initiatives, and manages complex capital and operational projects from planning through execution. The manager ensures utility operations-including HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, compressed air, glycol, electrical distribution, and wastewater systems-are safe, efficient, and compliant with regulatory and corporate standards. In addition, the role provides technical leadership for milk processing systems, ensuring consistent product quality, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement. This position collaborates closely with internal teams, contractors, and external regulatory partners to support operational excellence, long-term asset health, and site-wide performance goals.


Project Management:

Create long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines. Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project. Serve as a point of contact for all project personnel, (contractors, internal support resources, etc.), to ensure teams remain in synergy. Communicate with internal and external business partners to keep the project aligned with their goals and targets. Performing quality control on the project throughout execution to maintain the standards expected. Adjust project schedules, targets, milestones, project financing, and escalations as needed.


Plant Utility Systems:

Drive plant utility efficiencies to positively impact energy savings in line with Sustainable Environmental goals. Supervise and manage the Utilities Maintenance Department to provide technical oversight for utility systems including HVAC, ammonia refrigeration, boilers, air compressors, glycol systems, and electrical distribution. Lead energy conservation efforts, manage plant utility projects, and partner with other business partners to ensure compliance with plant standards for all non-utility related projects.


Environmental Systems:

Provide technical assistance and oversight for the Industrial Pretreatment Facility, (WWTP), as well as all other Plant Utility Environmental Compliance. Oversee the execution of all environmental contracts, audits, and submit regulatory documents to ensure compliance. Manage 3rd party environmental contractors and align with corporate sustainability manager(s) for corporate sustainability initiatives.


Milk Processing Systems:

Directly manage the Maintenance resources for all Milk Processing systems. Establish mid- and long-term preventative maintenance plans to ensure the reliability of these systems. Including, but not limited to Raw incoming milk, Ingredient batching, Pasteurization, and CIP systems. Adhere to all Quality and PMO standards. Partner with Internal teams, external contractors, and suppliers to successfully execute continuous improvements and reliability initiatives.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Oversee and execute Utility and Processing project(s) development, execution, and project and Maintenance budgets.
  • Responsible for all aspects of food safety and quality as defined in plant and department procedures
  • Ensure all projects with a production increase are supported by all Utility and Processing systems as well as in compliance with any plant environmental impact.
  • Identify opportunities in energy efficiency to reduce cost and reduce the specific energy consumption by strengthening preventative maintenance responses and development of breakthrough projects aligning the production to the company mission for environment and sustainable development.
  • Assembles energy usage data, completes weekly and monthly KPI reports and communicates reports on consumption; review and approve invoices.
  • Using weekly and monthly KPI reports, develop, own, and execute action plans based on opportunities found in data trends.
  • Lead and supervise the planning and implementation of strategies to promote a proactive and comprehensive maintenance program for all Plant Utility Systems (WWTP, Ammonia Refrigeration, Boiler & Steam Systems, Air Compressor), and Milk Processing Systems.
  • Supervise and oversee utility operations to ensure Utility Systems and Processing technical teams are staffed and operated in an effective manner and that all are within applicable permit limits.

Education

  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • A major in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

  • 5+ years of utility and resource maintenance and reliability management in a manufacturing facility. Experience in an energy-intensive or highly energy-conscious manufacturing facility is preferred.

Certifications and specific knowledge

  • The following certifications are preferred for this role: Wastewater Systems certification, Boiler Operator, and Ammonia Operator.
  • Experience with ammonia systems and Process Safety Management (PSM) for ammonia systems
  • Experience with high-pressure boiler systems, operations, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience in safety and environmental processes to maintain a manufacturing facility in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills to prioritize and execute inventory and preventative maintenance demands daily.
  • Proven ability to take initiative and establish processes and programs while working independently.
  • Proven ability to supervise, train, develop, review performance, and motivate subordinates.
  • Solid written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer literacy to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and a maintenance-based software system.
  • Proven ability to participate as a member of the plant leadership team and form sound working relationships with all members of the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints
  • Ability to operate in a team environment
  • Ability to adapt to a changing work environment
  • Strong technical background - Electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, fluid dynamics, motor controls, instrumentation, and PLC programming.

As a Senior Yogurt Process Project Manager, the role will carry out responsibilities such as but not limited to leading and executing strategic capital investment and process improvement projects that enhance the design, performance, and reliability of our yogurt manufacturing operations. The role includes overseeing projects from concept through full implementation, ensuring alignment with corporate standards, plant operational needs, and product quality expectations. Responsibilities include driving process design, managing cross-functional project teams, supporting production and quality operations, and ensuring successful commissioning of new or upgraded yogurt processing systems. Additionally, the Senior Yogurt Process Project Manager will collaborate with other Lactalis USA Corporate team members, the Lactalis Group Corporate Engineering & Equipment Department, R&D, Quality, Finance, and Plant Engineering and Operations teams to align duties with the company's goals and values.

  • Define project objectives, deliverables, and performance criteria to support strategic business goals within yogurt manufacturing and processing.
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to evaluate technical constraints, operational impacts, and cost-benefit considerations.
  • Partner with Key Stakeholders at Corporate and Plant level - including Production, Quality, Planning, R&D, Finance, Safety, Maintenance, and Engineering - to obtain buy-ins and to ensure that project designs meet business, operational, and regulatory expectations.

  • Lead vendor negotiations to secure competitive quotations for capital assets, installation services, and engineering support.

  • Lead end-to-end project management for yogurt process initiatives, from conceptual design through commissioning, ramp up, project closure, and handover.
  • Maintain and distribute comprehensive Project Schedules, identify critical paths, implement mitigation initiatives, and propose acceleration plans to ensure all projects are completed in accordance with the timelines in the Savings Plans and ROI calculations.
  • Coordinate and facilitate project review meetings, develop and distribute meeting minutes, and escalate issues or risks to key stakeholders as required.
  • Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and commissioning activities to ensure equipment performance aligns with specifications and project objectives.
  • Oversee installation, startup, and optimization of yogurt processing systems, resolving technical issues and ensuring seamless integration with existing operations.
  • Ensure all projects comply with corporate engineering standards, environmental regulations, food safety requirements, and applicable industry codes.

Experience

  • 8+ years working on Capital Expenditure, managing multi-million-dollar projects is required. Corporate or multi-site project management experience is preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in the Dairy, Beverage, or Liquid Food Manufacturing industry is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in a USDA or FDA regulated industry is required

Certifications and specific knowledge

  • The following certification is recommended for this role: Project Management Professional certification.
  • Knowledge of Capital Project Management tools (Project Initiation, Stage-gate, Risk Management, Cost Tracking, FAT/SAT protocol Development and Execution, Project Closure) is required.
  • Knowledge of Contract Management and Vendor Management are required.
  • Knowledge of Food Safety & Regulatory requirements (Pasteurized Milk Ordinance, Sanitary Design, 3-A Standards, cGMP, Microbiological control) is required.
  • Understanding of Dairy Process unit operations (Separation, Standardization, Pasteurization, Homogenization, Fermentation, etc.) is required.
  • Knowledge of Mass & Energy Balances and Process Modeling is required.
  • Knowledge of Tank and Piping design (including agitation, heat transfer, hygienic fittings, pumps, valves) is required.
  • Understanding of Production Lines, OEEs, Capacity & Saturation calculations, and integration with upstream process equipment is an asset.
  • Understanding of process Automation & Controls (PLC, Scada, MES, Batch and Recipe management) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications, MS Project, and AutoCAD is required. Knowledge of Excel pivot tables and macros is preferred.
