Overview

Currently seeking multiple Full Stack Developers in support of the of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Engineering Support for Identity Services (ESIS), this individual will support Agile Application Development technologies and capabilities in the areas of software development, systems engineering, integration, and test of software applications and infrastructure. Will be skilled with front-end, back-end, and database development. Design and implement full stack cloud solutions to include IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. Design and deploy computing infrastructure, physical or virtual machines and other resources like virtual-machine disk image library, block and file-based storage, firewalls, load balancers, IP addresses, virtual local area networks. Implement cloud-based platform services for AWS. Implement cloud-based software as service for AWS. Perform DevOps functions.

Key Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience with full stack engineering with proficiency in database development/integration as well as server and client application development/integration
  • Software developing experience using Python and Java Spring framework
  • Experience with other software technologies such as Web Services (SOAP/REST), React/Angular, VS Code, SQL, Gradle, and/or Git
  • AWS experience required with experience deploying enterprise applications in AWS
  • Experience with CI/CD environment tools such as Docker, Jenkins, Ansible, Kubernetes


Responsibilities

  • Software development with Python, Java, React, and various scripting languages
  • Design data models and web APIs and creation of software tasks from system requirements
  • Perform requirements analysis, design, development, unit, and integration testing of software, troubleshooting and debugging of the system
  • Immediate responsibilities will include enhancing and maintaining the existing system as well as design, development, and documentation of new features
  • Create Git Releases, pull request and code reviews
  • Query logs utilizing Splunk and will monitor dashboarding utilizing New Relic
  • Usage of Atlassian Tools for day to day tasks within the Scrum process
  • Implement web services, data persistence access features and external interfaces
  • Partner closely with front-end and database engineers to ensure features are developed holistically
  • Follow Agile software development methodology and team architecture standards.
  • Will need to be able to read Architecture Diagrams
  • Perform test service to improve code coverage, mocking services, test driven development and unit testing
  • Will modify Helm Charts, Jenkinsfiles, and Dockerfiles


Qualifications

  • MUST BE US CITIZEN
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
  • 10+ years expereince in Software Engineering
  • Must have experience in Python and Java Spring Framework (Boot, Batch, Data, Security)
  • Must have experience with other software technologies such as Web Services (SOAP/REST), React/Angular, VS Code, SQL, Gradle, and/or Git
  • Experience with design, development, enhancement, troubleshooting and debugging of web applications
  • Must have experience in AWS cloud environment and with CI/CD tools (ie. Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes) for deployment processes, monitoring production environments, and modifying docker/Jenkins files and helm charts
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, Powershell, Perl) is not required but nice to have
  • Understanding of the concept of branching and utilizing technological tools such as Git, VS Code, and/or Rancher to perform
  • Experience with creating Git releases, creating pull requests, and reviewing code
  • Experience monitoring dashboards utilizing New Relic
  • Experience with Splunk to query logs
  • Experience with Junit testing preferred
  • Experience creating release instructions utilizing JIRA
  • Experience developing and integrating complex software systems through the full SDLC
  • Experience with Agile Scrum
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills


Target Pay Range

The below listed pay range for this position is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The final offered salary will be influenced by a host of factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. As a Sr. Hardware Test Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will be a critical part of the Hardware Test team. This is a small team of broadly experienced engineers that strive to ensure that all hardware being produced meets the stringent requirements for aviation. You will be one of the essential interfaces between the design, production, and flight test teams and will be exposed to a wide variety of technical challenges.

You will be architecting automated test stands to replicate extreme flight conditions on our hardware and mechanisms that will serve as the backbone of our qualification testing. You will help to break our development hardware, help root-cause the failure modes, and provide critical input in redesigning it. You will be writing the software and building the hardware platforms for the command, control and data collection systems that will test our systems to rigorous aerospace standards. You will be a technical leader on a team eager to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of the design, build, and maintenance of mechanical or electrical test stands for development testing, production acceptance testing, functional and environmental qualification testing

  • Automate the repetitive aspects of the test stands

  • Author, execute, and audit test plans, procedures, and reports

  • Work closely with design engineers and flight test engineers to design, build, test and improve flight hardware

  • Help the team grow and provide mentorship to peers

Basic Success Criteria

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent industry experience

  • 5+ years of industry experience testing hardware in a regulated industry

  • Professional knowledge of ECAD tools such as Altium OR MCAD tools such as NX

  • Experience with software design and implementation in Python or C/C++

  • Strong understanding of mechanical or electrical engineering fundamentals

  • Eagerness for hands-on work - integration of sensors, building test fixtures, diagnosing and debugging equipment and hardware

  • Proven ability to methodically diagnose, document, and solve hardware problems

  • Prior experience with aerospace qualification testing standards (MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-160, or similar) and the aircraft certification process

  • Mastery of test instrumentation and data collection methods; ability to design a data acquisition system from the ground up

  • Working understanding of measurement and data analysis; ability to clearly present technical data and state its limitations

  • Demonstrated proficiency building/fabricating machine parts, cable assemblies, or other testing, integration, or assembly experience

As a member of our team, you will be a pivotal contributor to the development of novel hardware that will transform the future of flight. From component level thermal testing to instrumenting our aircraft with a sensor suite for flight testing, you will closely interface with many vital parts of our system. As a Professional Engineer, or Professional Structural Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and safety of communication structures. Your responsibilities will include assessing the strength of existing towers—such as guyed, self-supporting, and monopoles—to determine their load capacity. You'll then prepare detailed reports outlining their capabilities and proposing modifications to enhance their resilience. Alongside these tasks, you'll review incoming service requests to determine appropriate actions and provide guidance on field inspection reports, recommending necessary repairs or upgrades. Education and mentorship will be part of your role too, as you help younger engineers learn and review work for quality.

You'll contribute to project reviews and designs with analyzing building rooftops, water tanks, and elevated equipment platforms. This position is remote so having good time management and communication skills is the key to success for this role!

What You Will Do:

Evaluate service requests to ensure they contain sufficient information for completion.
Examine tower structures and foundations across existing, proposed, and tenant configurations.
Conduct analyses on projects with low-to-high complexity using manual calculations, structural software, and approved methods.
Collaborate with administrative and CADD teams to finalize necessary documentation.
Contribute to the design of telecommunications infrastructure modifications, reinforcements, and foundations.
Adhere strictly to safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
Provide guidance and training to junior engineers.
Address structure-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
Prepare mandated engineering calculation reports.
Stay updated on emerging technical advancements and trends in telecommunications engineering.
Conduct thorough quality control reviews of engineering services.
Support with additional tasks as delegated.

What You Will Need:

Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering or a related field required.
Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering or a related field preferred
Professional Engineer (“PE”) license is required.
Ability to become licensed as a PE in multiple states via reciprocity is required.
Structural Engineer (“SE”) license required.
Working knowledge of TIA/EIA-222 code and other relevant Design Codes (e.g., ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, NDS) is required.
Working knowledge of TARP policies is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience with AutoCAD preferred.
Active member of professional organization or technical society preferred.
Must have the ability and be willing to travel, as required, for job related functions.
Strong familiarity with the following software is required; RISA 3D & tnxTower
Strong familiarity with the following software is preferred; EnerCalc, Profis, ADAPT, BlueBeam/Adobe, and Microsoft products.

Expected compensation includes 90,000-120,000 per year and benefits including medical, vision, and dental benefits, and 401k retirement plan available for eligible employees. Compensation offered may vary depending on factors such as an individual’s education, training, experience, skills, geographic location, seniority, merit, and other factors that are job related and consistent with business need.
