About the Role:
Refactor Games is a AAA sports video game studio. We are developing the next generation of professional football (soccer) video games using Unreal Engine 5.
We’re seeking a seasoned Senior Game Designer - Game Systems to drive the design and implementation of advanced gameplay systems for a next-generation AAA European football video game built in Unreal Engine 5. You will conceptualize, prototype, tune, and polish interconnected systems that define how the game feels and plays across gameplay mechanics, progression, meta features, and player engagement loops.
You’ll work closely with engineers, animators, AI designers, UX, and production to ensure systems are robust, performant, and deeply aligned with the total football experience. Experience:

What You'll Work On:
- Design and own complex game systems such as player mechanics, controls, progression loops, mode rules, match logic, meta interactions, and balancing frameworks.

- Strong analytical mindset—comfortable analyzing player behavior, balancing large systems, and iterating based on data and playtests.
- Deep knowledge of football and football games (e.g., understanding of team tactics, player roles, ball mechanics, game flow, and competitive balance).

About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled HRIS System Administrator to join our HR team and manage our UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) HR system. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective functioning, configuration, and maintenance of the HRIS system. HRIS System Management

You do need to a solid understanding of systems integration, testing, and commissioning processes and their contractual implications.

Qualifications
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
- Have a Bachelor's in electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or equivalent degree
- Have at least 5+ years of experience in a professional engineering setting with Department of Defense focus
- Have proven experience in leading complex, multi-disciplinary analyses
- Have proficiency using MATLAB, including using Object Oriented capabilities, to conduct modeling and simulation, perform analysis, and create visualizations
- Have proficiency using version control software to develop MATLAB simulations in a team environment
- Excel in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Are an effective communicator, both written and verbal
- Have or can obtain an Interim Secret security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

- Have specific domain knowledge of Missile Defense Agency, US Space Force, Navy, and Army sensors, battle management systems, and kinetic and non-kinetic defeat capabilities

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
