General Summary
Physician shall be responsible for providing high quality, efficient, patient-centered and cost-effective care to any and all assigned patients. Care may be provided in the ambulatory, sub-acute or acute care environment as deemed appropriate. Full time is defined as not less than forty (40) hours of direct patient clinical or administrative care per week, generally assumed to be performed in five (5) full work days. Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

- Provide for and maintain full and complete records of all services performed for patients in accordance with established standards.

- Assure compliance with applicable Charles Regional policies and procedures, including but not limited to personnel actions, payroll practices, orientation and training, charity care, accounts payable, coding, billing and claims processing.
- Assure compliance with local, state and federal guidelines such as OSHA, CLIA and wage and labor regulations.
- Participate in the development of and performance to meet budgets including review of expenses and ongoing budget reconciliation.
- Apply and foster personal tact and diplomacy.
- Demonstrate a courteous attitude and promote good patient relations and a positive image.
- Participate in practice and group development activities such as community speaking, volunteerism and service to increase Physician visibility.
- Cooperate with administration to adjust Physician’s business approach when appropriate, such as altered or varied practice style and scheduling changes, in order to improve productivity and/or patient satisfaction.
- Participate in disease management programs to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of care.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Possesses and maintains current license to practice medicine in the State of Maryland required.
- Possesses and maintains current Board Certification within practicing specialty required.
- Possesses and maintains current DEA or similar Narcotics and Controlled Substances Certification required.
- Possesses and maintains, if applicable, appropriate clinical privileges at a minimum of one UMMS affiliated acute care facility.
- Demonstrates meeting minimum CME requirements for licensure and board certification.
- Demonstrates appropriate qualifications and experience to perform the duties required of this position.
- 2 plus years of experience as an Orthopedic MD.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Highly effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels hospital staff, patients, visitors, and levels of staff.

The Medical Director provides clinical care, leadership and expertise within the palliative care services team to enhance quality of life for patients with life limiting conditions and support for their families and caregivers. Qualifications

- Join a multifaceted team that covers the Cardiovascular ICU and the CV OR.
- The Advanced Practice Practitioner (APP)’s primary role will cover the cardiac surgery ICU.
- The APP will be trained to cover all aspects of the heart and vascular team.
- The APP will provide three 24-hour shifts per 2-week pay period.

- Performs endoscopic or open harvesting of the radial artery during coronary artery bypass procedures and prepares radial artery for bypass.
Qualifications
- PAs: Bachelor’s degree, graduation from an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program, and certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician’s Assistants are required. Candidates must hold an active Maryland license through the Maryland Board of Physicians.
- NPs: Bachelor’s degree, RN experience, and completion of Acute Nurse Practitioner degree. Candidates must hold an active Maryland license through the Maryland Board of Nursing.
- Preferred 5 years of experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner providing direct care to patients preferably in a surgical program setting.
- Accepting NP graduate with 5 years as RN in Cardiac Surgery ICU
- Credentialing must be obtained from UM Capital Region Health’s Medical Staff Office and maintenance of BLS /ACLS certification is required.
- Salary is commensurate with clinical experience.

- Represents oncology service line to the community, collaborating with a variety of stakeholders to ensure seamless access to services, robust patient education and innovative screening programs
- Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital

The R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, at the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the care of complex trauma patients. Working at the Shock Trauma Center, you become a vital part of a trauma team which provides continuity of care for patients from admission through discharge and post-discharge follow-up care. The trauma team NP/PA collaborates with nurses, therapists, residents, fellows, attendings, students and colleagues across disciplines to ensure safe, timely, evidence-based care of patients with a spectrum of traumatic injuries and their medical comorbidities.
