We are looking for a proactive Senior Associate, Building Science Knowledge Systems, who will support and help manage projects that strengthen the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) ability to assemble, store, and disseminate codes, standards, performance criteria, and best practices in the built environment. Role 

GenNext Learning Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Math Tutor/Teacher to work with students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about student success, enjoys teaching foundational mathematics, and is motivated to help students build confidence and strong academic skills.


Responsibilities

  • Deliver the GenNext math curriculum effectively
  • Teach foundational math concepts to elementary and middle school students
  • Provide strategic support for STAAR test preparation
  • Prepare students for Gifted and Talented programs and math competitions (Math Kangaroo, Math Olympiad, etc.)
  • Teach Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry to middle and high school students as needed
  • Monitor and assess student progress
  • Create a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment
  • Communicate student progress with the GenNext team and parents/guardians
  • Participate in curriculum development


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of local teaching or tutoring experience (ISDs or tutoring centers preferred)
  • Experience teaching elementary and middle school students
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate students
  • Patient, creative, and results-oriented with a passion for teaching

Position Summary

Youth Recreation Corps members assist Recreation Leaders with day camps and special events. Work with children ages 4-13 to support Day Camp Leaders. Support the Day Camp Program Assistant in hosting three special events throughout the summer. These tasks are illustrative only and may include other related duties.

The Youth Recreation Corps is designed as a "Day Camp Leader in-training" entry level opportunity to gain experience to return as a Day Camp Leader in future summers. Position is six weeks minimum, 20 hours/week, shifts are generally 10am-2pm but may include some morning or late afternoon shifts.

Essential Duties

Assists Summer Day Camp Leaders with activities and special events including Penny Carnival, Family Fun Night and Art in the Park.

Assists with event set up and clean up and running activities during event

Works with children and youth in day camp setting.

Refers participant complaints and conflicts to Recreation Leader.

Conforms with all safety rules and performs work is a safe manner.

Adheres to all City and Department policies.

Delivers excellent customer service to diverse audiences.

Maintains effective work relationships.

Acts ethically and honestly; applies ethical standards of behavior to daily work activities and interactions. Builds confidence in the City through own actions.

Arrives to work, meetings and other work-related functions on time and maintains regular job attendance.



Qualifications and Skills

Education and Experience

Current enrollment in High School or equivalent certificate program and will be a sophomore or junior when work assignment begins. Ability to provide proof of enrollment.

Experience in babysitting, volunteering and/or community service preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Positive attitude and interest in working with children ages 4-13 with a variety of needs and behaviors.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Good interpersonal skills. Ability to get along well with coworkers and the public, and maintain effective work relationships.

Ability to follow directions and take initiative.

Special Requirements

Must be available for at least six weeks of the season including ALL special event dates - July 7, July 28, August 11 and mandatory orientation June 21-24.

Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification during mandatory orientation.


Must have transportation to camps and special events (all within Corvallis city limits).
