Job Tittle: R&D Component Engineer
Duration: 06-month contract
Location : Maple Plain, MN
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
β’ Evaluating and approving parts to ensure compliance with requirements
β’ Inspect, analyse, potentially rework, review, test and disposition components to ensure functionality
β’ Perform both design and project tasks related to the inspection, testing, and production support of implantable orthopedic devices and associated non-implantable delivery instruments
β’ Assist in research and development of new components, assemblies, and processes to support product development and continuation activities
β’ Perform dimensional, strength of materials, mechanism movement, and/or manufacturability analysis
β’ Generate test methods and protocols, perform tests, analyze data, generate reports for product verification, and present findings as needed to cross-functional stakeholders
β’ Perform various product engineering tasks as necessary to support R&D and operations
β’ Communicate updates to the program manager and other various cross-functional team members as it relates to task completion and schedule adherence relative to overall business goals and objectives
β’ Evaluate and solve technical challenges either individually or as part of a team by: collaborating cross-functionally to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions; actively participating in problem solving sessions and/or brainstorming; systemically and logically working through issues using personal skills/experience and/or pulling in resources as needed; and designing and conducting experimental testing to appropriately characterize and evaluate solutions
β’ Participate in engineering meetings, technical working groups, and project management discussions
β’ Assist in the building, prototyping, modifying, and testing of engineering components
β’ Assist with prototyping, assembling, characterizing, validating inspection processes, rework instructions, and/or test methods
β’ Follow safety protocols, quality SOPβs, and regulatory requirements in all tasks and activities
β’ Comply with applicable design-related standards published by external regulatory bodies
β’ Properly document activities in accordance with best engineering practices, company procedures, and regulatory requirements
β’ Perform other duties as needed and assigned
Minimum Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Biomedical, or technical equivalent) with 0-3 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination
β’ Hands-on experience in metrology and familiarity with metrological equipment
β’ Experience in the use of analytical methods including statistics, DOE, and associated SW tools (Minitab)
β’ Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as a team
β’ Self-starter with proven ability to successfully work with minimal supervision
β’ Desire to learn and meaningfully contribute to the team
β’ Good teamwork and interpersonal skills
β’ Good written and verbal communication
β’ Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet project deadlines with high attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Hands-on experience with prototyping tools (3D printing, hand and/or power tools, manual and/or CNC machining, etc.), measurement tools (Keyence, Micro-Vu), and mechanical testing equipment
β’ Working knowledge of current CAD tools, SolidWorks experience preferred
β’ Experience working within an ISO certified or FDA registered work environment
β’ Familiarity with medical device quality systems and regulations
β’ Demonstrated cross-functional teamwork in technically demanding environment
β’ Strong bias for action and ability to shift as needed to support changing business needs

Job Summary and Qualifications
The RN CM Care Coordinator will facilitate the interdisciplinary plan of care with a focus on evaluating the appropriateness of clinical care, medical necessity, admission status, level of care, and resource management. The RN CM Care Coordinator will coordinate activities that promote quality outcomes and patient throughput while supporting a balance of optimal care and appropriate resource utilization. The RN CM Care Coordinator will identify potential barriers to patient throughput and quality outcomes and will facilitate appropriate discharge plans.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs a comprehensive assessment of psychosocial and medical needs of assigned patients
- Develops a case management plan of care to include identified clinical, psychosocial and discharge needs; coordinates plan of care; plan is documented in the medical record; plan is communicated to appropriate clinical disciplines
- Assumes a leadership role with the interdisciplinary team to manage care, through criteria driven processes, for the appropriate level of care, patient status and resource utilization
- Conducts interdisciplinary team meetings to provide a mechanism for all clinical disciplines to collaborate, plan, implement, and assess the plan of car; patient selection should be criteria based and interventions will be documented
- Evaluates admissions for medical necessity using approved criteria at defined intervals throughout the episode of care; escalates medical necessity and admission status issues through the established chain of command
- Evaluates and assess observation patients for appropriateness in observation status
- Performs utilization management reviews and communicates information to third party payors
- Acts as a liaison through effective and professional communications between and with physicians, patient / family, hospital staff, and outside agencies
- Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory requirements, facility ethics and Compliance policies, and quality initiatives; monitors self-compliance and implements process changes to ensure compliance to such regulations and quality initiatives as it relates to the provision of Case Management Services
- Makes appropriate referrals to third party payer disease and case management programs for recurring patients and patients with chronic disease states
- Documents professional recommendations, care coordination interventions, and case management activities to effectively communicate to all members of the health care team
- Facilitates patient throughput with an ongoing focus on quality and efficiency
- Tracks and trends barriers to care; makes recommendations and develops action plans to improve processes and systems
- Involves patient, family/responsible/significant others in identifying and clarifying needs and expectations to develop mutual and realistic goals
- Assesses patients' post discharge needs and facilitates the provision of services necessary to meet identified needs
- Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care or the services delivered
- Identifies patients with the potential for high risk complications and makes appropriate referrals acting as an advocate for the individual's healthcare needs
- Directs activities to identify and provide for the needs of the under resourced patient population to include patient education activities, patient assistance programs, and community based resources
- Develops individual plans of care for recurring patients to include education on appropriately accessing healthcare resources, preventative education, and community based resources
- Assumes a leadership role in the development, revision, and implementation of clinical protocols which transition patients across the continuum of care or discharge patients to an appropriate service level of care
- Adheres to established policy and procedure and standards of care; escalates issues through the established Chain of Command timely
- Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care or the services delivered.
Qualifications:
- Candidates are required to have a minimum of 3 years of RECENT (Within the last year) Case Manager experience in an acute care setting.
- Also open to candidates with 3 years of experience on the following units: Med/Surg, Tele, Neuro, ICU, PCU, or ED. will also consider candidates with Case manager experience in home health or insurance. For home health and insurance, they must have 3 years of acute care experience total and must have at least 1 year of acute care experience within the last 5 years.
- Associate's degree in nursing or Diploma in Nursing required
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
- Current FL RN license required or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN licenserequiredwithin90 days of hire
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license is acceptable for position if current and compliant
- Certification in Case Management, Nursing, or Utilization Review, preferred

What You'll Be Handling
As a key member of our litigation team, you will:
- Lead initial client consultations and evaluate case viability
- Handle your own docket of pre-litigation personal injury matters to resolve
- Help manage a caseload of complex, high-value personal injury matters from intake through resolution, including in litigation
- Manage discovery in litigation cases including drafting interrogatories, requests for production of documents, and requests for admissions to the opposing parties, tracking and following up on responses received, and responding to discovery propounded to firm clients.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research on questions of law and incorporate findings into cogent persuasive legal writing for the court.
- Develop and execute strategic case plans, both pre-litigation and through trial, and demonstrate advanced case conceptualization and planning
- Negotiate top-dollar settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel
- Take and defend depositions, and represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings
- Supervise and mentor support staff, including paralegals
- Maintain proactive, clear, and compassionate communication with clients
- Play an active role in shaping firm strategy and supporting growth through collaboration and leadership

Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: Starting at $85,000 to $125,000 (commensurate with experience) with a bonus structure - if you are able to generate business or can get exceptional results, you will be paid as such.
