Position Summary
Thermoid is seeking a driven Production Supervisor to lead daily operations and ensure seamless production flow. In this role, youβll plan and organize workflows, set clear objectives, and inspire your team to consistently achieve 95% on-time deliveryβcollaborating closely with sales, purchasing, quality, and engineering to maintain the highest standards of safety and quality.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow and enforce safety policies, ensure safety issues are addressed in a timely fashion, provide safety training and champion the safety program for the site
- Partner with purchasing, engineering and quality to schedule production activities to ensure > 95% on-time delivery and warranty rates at < 0.5% cost of sales
- Lead daily production team meetings and maintain departmental day-to-day production activities, monitor production, and prioritize workflow and schedules to maximize capacity plan for work cells
- Manage the hiring, performance management, coaching and training for all direct reports to support employee development, improve cross-training and drive accountability
- Build and maintain routings for products in the ERP system to constantly validate and improve daily shop scheduling practices
- Identify opportunities for improvement related to safety, quality, on time delivery and cost, and develop & implement processes and/or process improvements to address gaps
Experience and Education
- Bachelorβs degree in Engineering or Operations Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 3 years of experience with direct responsibility for production in manufacturing
- At least 3 years of Supervisory experience
- At least 1 year of experience working with an MRP or ERP system
- Demonstrated experience with Continuous Improvement tools & structured Problem-Solving processes preferred
Technical Skills
- Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Able to demonstrate leadership and coaching abilities

Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining a strong and long-lasting culture of continuous improvement through production support and product design. Production support will include technical support of all production operations, process design and optimization, implementation of lean manufacturing principles, and quality management. Product design will include design, qualifications, and costing for our products. Compound formulary control and maintenance, process development, application engineering, materials and product cost reduction, returned goods evaluations and other special projects as assigned. Assist in working with Sales, Customer Service, and Vendors to provide the correct solution for product and service applications.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote safe working environment.
- Interface daily with production and quality to provide technical support for quality, production and efficiency opportunities.
- Support lean manufacturing through evaluation, development, and improvement of manufacturing methods and workflow.
- Define and control production processes including documentation, tooling and equipment.
- Design and maintain product specifications and ensure correct BOM and Route in the ERP system.
- Analyze test and production data to determine trends in product and process performance.
- Lead quality and productivity actions to drive improvements.
- Establish and maintain testing criteria for components and products to assure performance / conformance with ISO 9000, customer and industry standards.
- Provide technical support for capital improvement projects.
- Effectively track and manage multiple projects/priorities.
- Collaborate with internal and external suppliers to ensure components meet quality standards.
- Partner with Product Manager and Sales in the development of new products.
- Provide customers with technical support for new and existing product lines.
- Lead development or redesign of compounds and subcomponents.
- Support plant and product activities to drive cost reduction programs.
- Develop and perform specialized component and product testing to support development and certification processes.
- Determine appropriate hardware and design to complement and meet application requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed to ensure components meet quality standards.
Experience and Education Required
- BS in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
- Training in rubber chemistry / compounding a plus
- Experience with application engineering; Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) a plus
- Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Analysis methods - desired
- Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) - desired
- Three to five yearsβ experience in Industrial design a plus
- Three to five yearsβ experience with chemical application engineering / failure analysis - desired
Technical Skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of manufacturing procedures and equipment capabilities
- Knowledge of rubber / rubber compounds preferred.
- Microsoft Excel / Word / PowerPoint / Outlook required.
- Strong interpersonal skills / communication
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Follow written and verbal instructions.
