Then Energy Efficiency Field Technician will be based in or near Houston, TX to support implementation of utility energy efficiency programs. This role conducts field assessments, verifies contractor work using specialized tools and procedures, and ensures timely, accurate upload of inspection data, photos, and documentation into program databases. As an Efficiency Project Estimator at Ecosave you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a database of contractors, accurately estimating construction costs, identifying scope gaps, risk mitigation and contractor dispute support associated with Power Generation, HVAC Upgrades, Mechanical, Civil, Plumbing, Electrical and related energy conservation measures. You will collaborate with our engineering, project management and Service teams to develop detailed project estimates, ensuring that our clients receive cost-effective solutions for their energy efficiency needs.

This role requires strong analytical skills and plays a critical part in Ecosave’s performance-based ESCO delivery model, where project estimates directly support guaranteed energy and maintenance savings. The estimator must balance accuracy, constructability, code compliance, and long-term asset performance to ensure risk is appropriately managed while maximizing client and company value.

Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation with Multi-Trade Scope Ownership: Develop accurate, comprehensive and integrated cost estimates covering HVAC, electrical and power equipment, civil, mechanical, plumbing, controls, and general labor scopes, ensuring no scope gaps or misaligned assumptions.

Scope Development: Assist engineering and project teams with SOW development.

Work with Project Management to effectively secure pricing for equipment and works using best practices to estimate the entire project cost.

Financial Sensitivity and Cost Optimization: Develop estimates with a clear understanding of savings realization, lifecycle cost, and long-term O&M implications inherent in performance-based energy service contracts. Identify opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising energy efficiency goals, making value driven decisions for equipment and system selections.

Risk Assessment: Evaluate potential risks and uncertainties associated with energy conservation projects and propose mitigation strategies. Identify scope gap, risks associated with labor, codes of practice and installation feasibility. Enables the dispute resolution process with data and cost documentation to substantiate claims and settlements.

Collaboration (Site Validation & Field Collaboration): Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the alignment of project estimates with the client's goals and objectives. Participate in site visits (up to 25% travel) to ensure constructability review is inclusive of local code requirements and installation feasibility.

Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized records of cost estimates, project documentation, and historical data for future reference.

• Be the workcell’s “expert” on all planning activities by supporting the Production Planner goal of never starting to build product without having a valid PO, adequate material quantities, and accurate BOM and an accurate routing.
• Lead the Workcell on the creation of Bills of Material (BOMs) and routings that allows accurate tracking of WIP assemblies and accurate inventory movement transactions.
• End-of Life (EOL) management should include chairing a meeting 30 days prior to the last planned build date to create tactics to support the EOL strategy. The Master Planner would own the build schedule, corrections and resolution of MPS to customer demand, planned tactics on deadlines for assemblies out of the various work areas on the floor, deadline for last shipment, and support plan for potential RMAs.
• Manage Jabil purge process for internal Workcell purges.
• Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
• Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree + 5 years of experience, or Masters + 3 years of related experience, or PhD without experience.
• APICS certification and Supervisor experience also preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of MRP, lead times for specific component types, internal run rates, test development lead times, machine programming lead times and complete understanding of the chronological sequence of events that must occur in order to build a product.

• This technician will support a large federal agency's Network Infrastructure through survey, design, and deployment of structured networks and will be responsible for the upkeep of the security posture of the environment
• This is accomplished through projects such as new installations, life cycle replacement projects, Cable Plant and wireless installations that are compliant with commercial, TEMPEST, and NIST standards
• Lead network survey, design and installations under direction of the government
