The Opportunity:

UCF Information Technology (UCF IT) is seeking a Cloud Computing Engineer I to join the Infrastructure team and apply technical expertise to maintain UCF's cloud computing environment. The Cloud Computing Engineer I will support cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, VMware, and Google Cloud, with a focus on software-defined networking and zero-trust architectures.

The Cloud Computing Engineer I will follow documentation and best practices, consult with internal customers on new projects and implementations, and collaborate with multiple teams and departments during new Azure cloud initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• 
  

• Respond to service requests and incidents related to Azure cloud infrastructure. Fulfill routine infrastructure requests including virtual machine provisioning, storage allocation, and network configurations. Troubleshoot basic issues and escalate complex problems to senior engineers as appropriate.

  
  

• Perform routine infrastructure builds and deployments in Azure, including virtual machines, virtual networks, storage accounts, and other cloud resources. Follow established templates, runbooks, and best practices to ensure consistent and secure deployments across environments.

  
  

• Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, availability, and cost metrics using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and related tools. Build and maintain dashboards to visualize key performance indicators. Alert appropriate teams when thresholds are exceeded or anomalies are detected.

  
  

• Use and help maintain script repositories for common Azure functions using PowerShell, Terraform, and other Infrastructure as Code tools. Execute automation scripts for routine tasks, contribute to script improvements, and document procedures for team use.

  
  

• Adhere to UCF Infrastructure ITIL processes, such as request and change management procedures, ensuring all planned changes are properly reviewed, documented, and communicated. Coordinate with stakeholders to minimize disruption and ensure smooth implementation of changes.

  
  

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of cloud configurations, procedures, standards, and operational guidelines. Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives by creating and updating technical documentation in the team wiki and knowledge base.

  
  

• Assist with cloud security and compliance tasks, including reviewing access permissions, supporting audit requests, and helping to remediate findings from security assessments. Follow established security policies and best practices for Azure environments.

The Ideal candidate will have experience in both traditional infrastructure design; provisioning of platform, storage, and networking resources for existing on-premises infrastructure that ideally also has experience in emerging DevOps/DevSecOps & Modernized technologies. Job Overview

The Senior, Security Engineer reviews, develops, and manages security solutions to reduce risk for Macy’s, Inc. This role actively engages with management to provide timely updates and clear status, enabling informed decisions related to security risk exposure and operational stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Own enterprise Akamai Edge Security operations for ecommerce / digital platforms
• Design, deploy, and tune:
• Akamai WAF (Kona / App & API Protector)
• Bot Manager (scraping, credential stuffing, inventory abuse protection)
• DDoS mitigation and rate control
• API Security protections
• Protect against OWASP Top 10 threats, credential stuffing, carding attacks, scraping, and checkout abuse
• Optimize CDN configurations for performance, scalability, and customer experience
• Analyze traffic patterns and security logs to reduce false positives and protect revenue
• Support peak retail events (Black Friday, Cyber Monday, seasonal launches)
• Automate configuration management using Terraform, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines
• Develop monitoring dashboards and security metrics (block rate, false positives, bot ratios, attack trends)
• Partner with:
• Application Security
• Cloud Engineering
• DevOps
• Fraud & Risk teams
• Support production change management and incident response for edge-related threats
• Ensure compliance with PCI DSS and internal security governance standards

Required Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of hands-on experience managing Akamai CDN and security platforms in production
• Strong experience with:
• Akamai WAF policy tuning
• Bot mitigation strategies
• DDoS protections (application & volumetric)
• Deep understanding of:
• HTTP/S, TLS, DNS, CDN architectures
• OWASP Top 10
• API security best practices
• Experience in high-traffic ecommerce or retail environments

Job Title: Cloud Systems Engineer

Location: Pleasonton, CA - Onsite with 80%

Duration: 9 Months

Pay Range: $70/hr -$90/hr on W2 (DOE)

Description:

This hybrid cloud role will be part of a talented team that is responsible for the growth, on-going maintenance and development of IaaS running primarily on Linux and Windows in cloud and on-premises. Provides level 3 support (on an on-call support rotation model) for complex systems and applications. Work across product teams and operations to design and implements tools that automate infrastructure configurations, provisioning, builds, and deployments.

This position will be remote and will need to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities:

• Updating, designing, and adding automation for provisioning and managing infrastructure, operating system, and middleware components.
• Designing, engineering, and maintaining a highly complex and secure cloud environment for Oracle and Azure Cloud.
• Provide support for complex system and applications, rolling out new systems, maintaining, migrating, upgrading and improving the long-term performance of the systems.
• Perform as a member of the systems administration team to support the installation, optimization, integration, troubleshooting, backup, recovery, modification, security, and upgrading of IT systems and components to provide services that enable customers to effectively apply IT to business requirements

Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT Preferred and 6+ years of progressive experience in engineering and design capacities, and documentation.
• The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with strong work habits and have mid-level career experience in maintaining large numbers of Linux and Windows servers in Bare Metal, ESX, and Cloud environments.
• Deep Understanding of Windows/Linux Fundamentals including Reading/Understanding system logs, run tracing and debugging tools, and network packet captures for analysis of resolving root cause.
• Implementing and Administering VMware ESX/ESXi/Vcenter, Creating vSwitches, Port groups, NIC Teaming, Bonding, and VLAN or Virtual Network Problem management.
• Experience with public cloud platforms – IaaS, PaaS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Vagrant (Azure & OCI are preferred)
• Experience with Automation technologies like Infrastructure as a Code with Chef, Terraform, and Jenkins. Deployment technologies such as, PXE Kickstart, Windows SCCM, and configuration managment for mobile devices. Scripting experience, specifically with Bash/python/Ruby/Perl/Powershell language Preferred.
• Experience with Warehouse or Manufacturing automation a plus working with PLC, Conveyance, and Warehouse Controls Systems, Understanding of Warehouse Management Systems, and Prior work with real-time systems Preferred
• Experience with Monitoring tools like Nagios or New-Relic and Kafka or other stream service.
