DESIGN SHOP LEADER
WINNETKA, IL
Serena & Lily is seeking a Design Shop Store Leader to lead our Design Shop in Winnetka, IL. The Design Shop Leader is responsible for establishing and maintaining client services, oversees and is accountable for the operation of a store ensuring maximum sales and profitability through hiring, merchandising, inventory, expense control, human resources management, and managing operating costs and shrinkage. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Master, teach and hold team accountable for embodying and operating by the Serena & Lily Brand Ethos (Innovation, Style, Integrity, Optimism, Expressiveness, Confidence & Appreciation)
- Ensure Brand Expression is always conveyed appropriately in Design Shop presentation and associate behavior
- Ensure that each client and/or designer receives outstanding client service by providing a warm, friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every client, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of client service
- Master and teach brand standards regarding outreach, design advice, floorplans and mood board creation for in-store or virtual design advise requests
- Create a warm, welcoming, inspiring, and empathetic on-brand client experience
- Manage Assistant Store Leader and Design Advisors in all daily aspects relevant to driving sales and running the business
- Analyze and measure business trends; develop and implement plans to maximize sales and meet or exceed goals and objectives. Grow client base, including designer outreach
- Coach, counsel and continually develop team through continual evaluation and reaction to performance issues in conjunction with the Executive Leadership Team
- Actively recruit Design Advisor & Leadership candidates to maintain appropriate staffing level.
- Control shrink, expenses, and payroll
- Ensure appropriate merchandise stock levels, merchandise presentations; signing, and assortment in all departments; ensure selling floor is adequately stocked. Lead and maintain visual standards of the store, per home office directives
- Understand, uphold and monitor compliance to company policies and procedures
- Effectively and efficiently communicate directives from home office
- Lead in home design consultation process
- Any other responsibilities as assigned by Leadership
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5-7 years of retail leadership experience, interiors/home furnishings field preferred
- Strong contacts in and knowledge of the local interior design community is preferred
- Ability to lead in a team environment
- Strong sense of personal style

COMPENSATION:
- $90-110k depending on experience. This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this role. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: experience, education, and skills.

About the role
Live commerce is one of the fastest growing channels in retail right now, and you'd be getting in early. This is a ground-floor opportunity to learn the backend of a real TikTok Shop operation, from production to performance analytics, while working with a brand that already has serious retail presence in the market.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate lighting, audio, and streaming equipment before and during each stream
- Monitor live TikTok Shop metrics (GMV, viewers, add-to-cart rates) and flag what matters

The Melt Shop Supervisor supervises Melt Shop hourly and non-exempt salary production personnel and operations on the assigned shift.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead train, supervise and coach assigned personnel. Use positive reinforcement and discipline as appropriate. Complete annual performance appraisals and quarterly (new employee) evaluations.
- Issue work assignments to Lead Operators, Furnace Crews, Finished Product Technicians, Set-Up Technicians and other employees as appropriate to meet department objectives.
- Assist Lead Operators with planning work and use of resources (people, tools, and equipment) to maximize the efficiency and quality of the work performed. Also, supervise personnel to achieve throughput, delivery performance, and changeover and product yield goals.
- Delegate assignments and responsibility to the Lead Operators. Follow-up to be sure assignments are completed properly and productively.
- Allocate resources (people, tools, equipment, and materials) between furnaces and support activities (maintenance, set-up, grit blasting, conditioning and packaging, material handling, etc.) to meet objectives.
- Develop operating and maintenance procedures; assist with optimization of preventive maintenance.
- Conduct accident investigations and periodic safety checks / inspections; work with the HSE Dept to take action and/or generate safety corrective action requests (SCARs) as appropriate.
- Review customer specifications, sales orders, schedules, blend sheets, daily chemistry reports, etc. to issue schedules, changeover and chamber preparation checklists, and melt release forms to furnace crews.
Education & Experience
- High School diploma or GED required
- Supplemental college, technical, or supervisory training highly desired
- Ability to work a flexible schedule. Ability and willingness to participate in holiday management coverage and weekend duty.
- Strong organizational and communication skills; good writing skills.

Independently operate and adjust numerically controlled Tape Laminator machines according to established shop practices and procedures.
Prepare for job setup by reviewing production orders, work orders (W/O), and setup documents, ensuring access to blueprints and drawings.
Verify that the correct materials and tools are issued and free from visible defects before starting work.
Identify the type of machine setup needed based on drawings and work orders, including flat tape laminating machines and automated fiber placement machines.
Check machine setups and parts completed by previous operators to ensure safe working conditions and job progress.
Prepare machines by obtaining materials from storage and performing necessary processes before operation, such as rolling tackifier and laying fiberglass.
Retrieve and download CNC programs to the machine controller from the mainframe server.
Monitor machine operations for unusual vibrations or sounds, checking gauges and displays for warnings.
Move finished parts and tools using appropriate material handling equipment as required.
Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with safety regulations and using personal protective equipment.
Perform quality checks after each operation to ensure parts meet specifications and are free from defects.
Maintain personal and tool certifications, consulting with team leaders and supervisors on process or job-related issues as needed.
Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.
Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.

1+ Years of experience obtaining and using information from drawings, documents, machine control data, to set up parts or material on pallets for machining operations.
~1+ Years of experience working with blueprints, specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures.
~ Able to stand and walk throughout work shift (6+ hours) as well as carry and lift up to 25 pounds.
1+ Years of experience operating 3, 4, or 5 axis NC/CNC machine tools.
~ Experience working with and around hazardous materials (while using the proper protective equipment).
High school graduate or GED preferred.
