Pay range: $41/hr - $46/hr

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Designer to join our team. In this individual contributor role, you will own the technical design process from initial development through to the final fit, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of fit, comfort, and quality. You will act as the key liaison between design and manufacturing, ensuring design intent is achieved while adhering to our established standards and cost specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fit & Construction: Lead the process of analyzing and evaluating garments to develop and execute correct fit specifications. Conduct fit sessions and clearly communicate fit corrections and construction details to vendors and factories.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the Design team to ensure design intent is met. Work effectively with multiple departments to balance aesthetic goals with production feasibility and quality standards.
• Technical Specifications: Develop, maintain, and communicate detailed technical packages and specifications for approvals and production.
• Problem-Solving & Adjustments: Proactively identify potential construction or fit issues and collaborate with factories to make appropriate adjustments, ensuring the integrity of design-approved prototypes while monitoring quality and cost.
• Mentorship: Provide direction and guidance to Assistant or Associate Technical Designers, supporting their professional growth within the team.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Technical Design, or equivalent related experience.
• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a technical design role.
• Specialized Expertise: Must have experience with intimates. Experience with plus-size fit and construction is also required.
• Skills: Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, draping, and grading. Proficiency in PLM systems and MS Office Suite.
