Technical Designer (Woven Development + Sweater Production)

Overview

We’re looking for a Apparel Technical Designer to own fit and technical execution from development through production, with clear category responsibility and strong internal leadership.

This role partners closely with our overseas production/PD manager while leading the technical process internally with our U.S.-based team.

Key Responsibilities

- Own garment fit and technical accuracy from development through production for woven styles

- Responsible for sweater technical design during the production phase, ensuring specs, fit, and approvals are accurate and consistent through bulk

- Start all tech packs and finalize them for handoff to overseas factories

- Send Techpacks and manage communication directly with factories, ensuring they have all necessary information, updates, and approvals

- Lead fittings, provide clear corrections, and ensure consistency from proto through TOP

- Create and maintain specs, grading, and construction details across all styles

- Partner with the overseas production/PD manager, who manages timelines and delivery, while you ensure all technical and fit information is accurate and complete

- Serve as the internal technical lead, working closely with the creative woven designer and sweater designer to translate design intent into production-ready garments

- Communicate fit comments, construction updates, and technical changes clearly and proactively to overseas partners

Ownership & Expectations

- Responsible for ensuring fit integrity from development through production

- Must be highly organized and able to independently prioritize workload based on style importance, business needs, and timing — without waiting to be directed on what to tackle next

- Own communication flow with factories on all technical and fit matters

- Comfortable balancing hands-on technical work with internal leadership and cross-functional collaboration

- Able to identify issues early and proactively drive resolution
