This includes: positioning, physiology, procedure preparation, and technical factors. • Provides accurate explanations and instructions to patients and family members at an appropriate level utilizing verbal and non-verbal skills, terminology and language.

• Follows safety standards and conducts all imaging procedures accordingly. Uses ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) to protect patients, staff and general public, and follows radiation safety standards. Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures, regularly practices aseptic techniques, and ensures compliance with radiation safety and infection control procedures. Complies with job role, department and hospital safety standards, practices and policies.
• Reports “near misses” and inputs errors promptly into appropriate hospital patient safety reporting system to improve processes and identify trends. Contributes to identification of corrective actions and improvement activities, and contributes to meeting department and hospital targets for quality and safety.
• Performs daily imaging equipment quality control (QC) ensuring all imaging equipment is in safe working order prior to use. Reports any malfunctions to management and regularly practices preventive maintenance procedures; calls for service if needed.

ABOUT RADIOLOGY AT PORTER MEDICAL CENTER
The Radiology Department performs 25,000 imaging exams annually using CT Philips ingenuity 64 slice CT scanner, MRI, ultrasound, and Hologic 3D for mammography. CT and general x-ray services are available 24/7, with ultrasound and MRI performed on weekdays with weekend ultrasound call coverage.  

JOB DESCRIPTION

Seeking experienced CT/Mammo/Rad Tech with excellent customer service skills. 

Cross training into other modalities and certification (based on Radiology Department needs) is required, and existing CT or mammo certification is required.

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing routine, trauma, intraoperative, radiological imaging. 

In addition to competitive pay, this position is eligible for the following differentials:  

Evening $3/hour 

Night $5/hour 

Weekend $2/hour (in addition to any applicable evening or night differentials)  

Per Diem $2/hour (in addition to any applicable evening, night, and weekend differentials) 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Satisfactory completion of a formal radiological technology program in a CAHEA approved school and certification by the ARRT or its equivalent. 

Current Vermont unrestricted State license to practice radiologic technology. 

Demonstrated competence as a licensed professional by maintaining professional growth and development to keep abreast in Radiology Tech field. 

Maintains certification in Tech’s special modality. 

CT or mammography certification required.

The Opportunity:

The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating day-to-day facility operations and ensuring all scheduled events are executed smoothly and professionally.
